    About this Episode

I was GOBSMACKED when someone recently said "I wouldn't trust anyone in a hoodie to be doing my accounts" - sorry, what?!

After the initial shock wore off from this off-the-cuff remark I found myself really reflecting on how impactful people's perceptions can be, the way we react to these beliefs and how powerful shaking off that need to always please can be.

    In this episode, I discuss:

    • Batch creating and scheduling marketing material

    • My first in-person business strategy meeting of 2024 with my team

    • Investing in the business and team with branded clothing

    • Ongoing conversations with business owners about strategy

    • Someone's opinion on our branded clothing

    • How this assumption made me feel

    • My new perspective on navigating negative feedback

Taking A 100 Year Old Business And Their Finances Digital

Taking A 100 Year Old Business And Their Finances Digital

    Yes, you read that right!

In the Summer of 2023, my team and I had the honour of working with a 100-year-old company to relieve their retiring treasurer of their financial duties by taking all of their paper-based accounts digital (with the help of Xero of course). Not only do they now have access to streamlined financial management but also the necessary connections to HMRC and Nest Pensions for a secure financial future!

    In this episode, I discuss:

    • Developing a succession plan that identifies critical positions within your company and develops action plans for individuals within your organisation

    • The pros and cons of having long-term employees within your business

    • Ensuring the relevant team members have access to important information

    • The impact invalid access can have on your business and employees

Future-proofing your business to ensure you're prepared for unexpected circumstances arising

How Sitting On The Fence Can Create The Power Of Perspective

How Sitting On The Fence Can Create The Power Of Perspective

For the longest time, I used to believe that "sitting on the fence" was a bad thing and that if I wanted to be seen in the online business space then I would need to vocalise big beliefs and opinions.

However, after many years in business, I've learnt that isn't the case!

In fact, positioning myself in the "middle ground" gave me a much wider perspective to create a greater impact on myself and those within my circle.

    In this episode, I discuss:

    • My experience with being a consumer vs a creator

    • Why I love listening to other people's perspectives

    • Beliefs around building a personal brand

    • Diversity in the way we set and view goals in business

    • Why I'm a little "vanilla" and how this works in my favour

    • My top tip to get a greater perspective on a topic of discussion online

    • Considering the way we communicate in person and channelling this on social media

    • Why I no longer watch mainstream media

Why It's Taken Me So Long To Invest In My Own Office

Why It's Taken Me So Long To Invest In My Own Office

We all have to start somewhere in business and I've been lucky enough to have started, managed and grown my business, to what it is today, from an amazing co working space in Caerphilly. However 4.5 years on, after building my clientele and expanding my team, my accountancy business needs a place to truly call home - which is why we are investing in our own office space!!!!

But why have I taken so long to make this decision?

    In this episode, I discuss:

    • My relationship and co-working space at Welsh ICE

    • The relocation for Welsh Ice and what that means for my business

    • How the current working set up isn't suitable for my growing team

    • My awareness and emotions with the reality of growth happening

    • Finding a new office space for Right Click Accounting

    • Why it's taken me so long to make the decision to relocate

    • The resistance I've felt towards change

    • My beliefs around certain business expenses being "indulging"

    • Reflecting on the challenges business owners have been on in the last 10 years

4 Things I DISAGREE With In The Online Business Space

4 Things I DISAGREE With In The Online Business Space

Let's face it, there is A LOT of business information to digest in the digital space - some of which is valuable, while others are a little more questionable.

As an avid social media user, both personally and professionally, I've found myself recently consuming content that I just can't bring myself to agree with - so instead I've decided to bring them to the podcast to chat with you about.

(And of course to normalise the fact that it's okay to disagree with things!)

    In this episode, I discuss:

    • Social accounts influencing others to opt out of purchasing a certain product or service, also known as 'Deinfluencing'

    • The fact that people think saying "No." is a complete sentence.

    • An example of how I professionally navigated saying "no" to a cold LinkedIn message.

    • Reflecting on the opportunities that present themselves to identify if they are beneficial for all parties involved.

    • People who believe solely in the fact that "you can manifest business success"

    • The importance of taking action with your goals and visions, and how I handled this early on in my business journey.

    • The age-old saying that "the customer is always right"

    • My beliefs & misconceptions around passive income and why I'm no longer a fan of it.
