Episode 207 - Game Shows with the Gateleapers
As a huge fan of Gateleapers, I want to showcase what an episode of Gateleapers is like for our listeners, so we're going to play three games that are very similar to Gateleapers games, because what's more American than taking British ideas and making them worse? I hope the end result is much like a shorter, quicker episode of Gateleapers with the added benefit of giving Matt a taste of his own medicine.
Game 1 - The Big Board
This is a trivia game with a board of 12 questions segmented into tiers of difficulty, there are four $1,000-Tier questions, these are the easiest and worth 1 point each.
There are four $32,000-Tier questions, these are medium difficulty and 2 points each.
And finally, four Million-Dollar-Tier questions, these are hard difficulty and 3 points each.
Teams will take turns choosing and answering questions until we've done all twelve.
Game 2 - Play Your Cards Right
This is a trivia/intuition game. The team in 2nd place will choose from one of two categories, and we'll start by asking them to bid on the first item. If they're within a certain range, they'll earn a point. Every item after that, they'll need to say whether the value is higher or lower than the previous item, and they'll earn a point for each correct guess, and a bonus point if they can get the value exactly right. The game ends after both teams have tackled a list of seven items.
Game 3 - Quickfire Round
This is a trivia game where the clues will come fast and furious, and players will have to buzz in by shouting their team name. (The internet lag for the Gateleapers should be offset by how stoned Stevie and Augie are) There's a point for each correct answer, and the team with the most points when the buzzer sounds is our winner.
