    #055.  Ashley is the founder of The Game Day Family.  She's married to Heath Hover, the Offensive Coordinator for South Forsyth High School in Cummings, GA.  She started The Game Day Family as an Etsy shop filled with fun little onesies for babies and other gifts and it quickly turned into her creating children's books for the coach's kid.  We had a great conversation chatting about why she started the Game Day Family shop, how she and Heath met, how important having other coach's wives in your corner can make the difference and the sometimes struggle of being labeled a coach's kid.

    TFNL  would like to  welcome back Beth Walker. Beth has become a good friend of Corinne’s.  She’s encouraged and mentored her in the last few years especially this last year going through the move up to Central Valley.  

    Beth is an author, mentor, speaker, marketing director, encourager, blogger and a fellow coach’s wife.  

    She comes on the podcast to share her wisdom and insight in the moving process.  She’s done a move or two in her time. Ha!  She talks about some ways that we can feel more controlled and ready during a time that can feel the most chaotic.  

    Here’s a few points that you will come away with after listening…

    1. Color code your boxes.
    2. Be in prayer and journal during your moving process
    3. Make sure you take some time to say goodbye well.  It’s important to take the time to let people know you valued their friendship and the time you had with them.
    4. Get rid of everything! Ha!!! But seriously, Purge on the Regular!!
    5. We can’t control our happiness, but we can control our Response!!!
    6. Think “Fresh Start”!
    7. Sometimes a closed door can be “A Season of Rest!”
    8. You have to show people you are willing to be “interested in being invited in”!

    Jennifer is a fellow Coach’s Wife and also a Registered Dietician and Nutritionist.  Her husband, Justin Gorman, is the Passing Game Coordinator/Head Track Coach at Abilene in Abilene, TX.  She’s a momma of 3, Cooper and Masyn (8) are twins and Crawford, 2 years old.  

    On this episode, Jennifer and Corinne have a great discussion talking about proper nutrition and health for our athletes. She shares her “Three Most Important Things” every athlete should know about!!  Jennifer also shares about her personal journey of being a coach’s wife describing how moving to a remote town while being pregnant was difficult and also how instrumental coach’s wives were in helping and encouraging her in her marriage, family and her faith!

    #052. Christine Flores is the founder and CEO of the Coaching Family Foundation.  She's married to David Flores who is the O. C.  and recruiting coordinator for Evangel University.  Christine is  a social worker and mental health therapist as well.  In 2015 she began her blog and social media accounts,  Coach Wife Life, where she strives to create a community that helps encourage and support other coaches wives. 
    We talk about how she and David met during a powder puff game, also about mental health in athletes and how we as a coaching family can come alongside our athletes who are experiencing struggles. 
    The Coaching Family Foundation is a passion project of hers in which she started to help other coaching families who are struggling during a time of transition.  It's through this foundation that we can help families in need that are struggling with finances and are in need of support.
