SS-19-VCL Defeat In the Land of Victory-Part 1

VCL 28 Thanks for joining us. Today Pastor Phil will bring our series Victorious Christian Living to a close, but not before he imparts a final exhortation to stand strong, and stand firmly on the Lord's side as you walk the road that lies yet ahead. Now lets look at Joshua chapters 23 and 24 as we join Pastor Phil.

VCL 27 Joshua Ch 17-22 As much as we might strive to walk faithfully with the Lord, there will always be those potential dangers that we would do well to avoid. Pastor Phil will draw our attention to Joshua chapters 17 through 22 as he seeks to identify some of these hazards. Let's listen as he brings us today's teaching.

VCL 26 Joshua 14:6-15 In examining what it takes to fight spiritual battles, it's helpful to be able to look at others who have experienced victory in such arenas. Does the Bible give us such examples? Indeed, and today Pastor Phil acquaints us with one such hero of the faith in his message Give Me This Mountain from Joshua chapter 14.

VCL 25 Joshua 13:1-14 Fighting battles in the Christian life is hard work. And frankly, sometimes it just seems easier to let up in a few areas just to try to find some rest. But truth be told, rest through compromise will bring you anything but what you were hoping for! Lets listen as pastor Phil speaks to this idea today in part one of his message Possessing the Fullness of God.

VCL 24 Joshua 9:14-27 While our adversary the devil has his schemes and devices to employ against Gods beloved, we too have a resource to lean upon. And as we'll learn today, if we don't take advantage of this resource, we will very likely fall. We turn now to Joshua chapter 9 as Pastor Phil brings us today's message, The Agony of Deceit.

VCL 23 Joshua 9:1-13 When we speak of spiritual warfare, we must understand that the devil does not simply fire his darts randomly, but rather he has devised various strategies to undermine the children of God. We would do well to learn them that we might experience victory against our adversary. Pastor Phil shares on this vital subject today, as we join him in Joshua chapter 9.

VCL 22 Joshua 8:30-35 Today we find ourselves in Joshua chapter 8. Looking at our text today, you'd get the sense that God's ways don't always line up with our ways. In the case of God's people, they had a momentum building as they gained victory in the promised land. But the God slowed them down-why? As we'll see, the Lord had good reason. Let's join Pastor Phil as he explains.

VCL 21 Joshua 8:1-29 There are many lessons that we can take away from the story of the Israelites tragic defeat at Ai, but one important insight that we want to make sure we consider is that of making regular healthy examinations of our hearts, in an effort to guard against sin. Pastor Phil brings this thought to the fore as we join him now in Joshua chapter 8.

VCL 20 Joshua 7:10-26 When sin gets into the camp, and it begins to bring defeat upon its shoulders, it can be humbling. But, it can also serve as a reminder of the need to be vigilant in our desire to protect the purity in our relationship with God.
