On this episode I share the habits that are currently a part of my life. Many of these I've learned from others, so maybe there are some here that you can try for yourself.

1st Draft of the FF Season

1st Draft of the FF Season

Fantasy Football 2019 has arrived! In this episode I recap my first draft, which took place on August 20th. It was a 12 team snake draft, part of the FootballGuys Players Championship, a large field event with high stakes.

I selected from the 3 spot, where I knew my 1st pick would be one of the top 3 running backs. After that the plan I had heading into the draft went out the window, quickly. Check out the episode to hear what went down.

Rachel Sobel - The Journey from Corporate Life to Blogger to Influencer

Rachel Sobel - The Journey from Corporate Life to Blogger to Influencer

Rachel is a blogger, writer, published author, and speaker. She believes strongly in sharing the good, bad and ugly of motherhood instead of the alternate reality some like to perpetuate. She’s a contributor for PopSugar, Today Parents, and has been featured on ScaryMommy and HuffPo, among others. Rachel hides from her kids in her closet every Monday night where she records a Facebook live show commiserating with other parents about all things motherhood. But really, her biggest accomplishment is regularly doing the obscene amount of laundry created by her husband and two daughters and keeping everyone in clean clothing.

In this episode we get into Rachel's decision to leave the corporate world and follow her passion as a writer. This led to a successful blog and now an active Instagram account under the moniker whineandcheezits. Rachel now balances life as an influencer with motherhood, and shares the adventures along the way.

Slade Sohmer - New Media, Angela Lansbury, Camp Power, and More | Talkin' Ish

Slade has built three millennial-focused newsrooms, most recently as managing editor and editorial product head at CNN's Beme, and before that at Mic and HyperVocal. He also co-hosted and executive produced SiriusXM's daily "Politics Powered by Twitter" satellite radio show. He also is co-director of Camp Power, a nonprofit summer camp for underprivileged kids from Brooklyn and the Bronx.

Slade and I grew up in the same town and went to school together. This was our first time hanging out in many, many years. We discussed playing in a cul-de-sac, Angela Lansbury, Broadway shows, why I should watch soccer, and where the media landscape is heading (hint: we don't know). Also, his incredible nonprofit, a summer camp for kids who don't otherwise have the chance to go, Camp Power.

Please enjoy this episode of Talkin' Ish, with Slade Sohmer.
