The sin you choose to give in to is not the only sin you will struggle with. One sin inevitably leads to another, and then to another. Once you become comfortable with a particular sin in your life, it is only a matter of time until other issues arise

Everyone struggles with temptation; it’s a fact of life. Whether it’s fighting the urge to eat that second piece of cake, fudge a little on your tax return, lie to your spouse about where you were and what you were doing, steal a lustful glance at that person on the beach, or not tell your boss the whole story, temptation to sin is all around us. HOW do I keep from giving in? How can I live in victory?

We give in to temptation because the flesh likes it. Sin is pleasurable. If it weren’t, we wouldn’t do it. James 1:14 warns us that “each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust.” The more we listen to the cries of our sinful flesh, the more likely we are to sin. This week's episode explores the Bible to answer the age-old question "Why, O Why Do I Sin?"

Do you desire to please God with your life? Do you also struggle with sinful thoughts and habits? In Gal. 5:17 Paul reminds us that the flesh is in conflict with the spirit – and the spirit is in conflict with the flesh. They are opposed to each other making it difficult to do what is right. In Romans 7 Paul talks about how the things he wants to do, he doesn’t; and the things he doesn’t want to do he keeps on doing. Can you relate?

As you grow in your knowledge and understanding of God’s Word, there is a significant impact on the way you think. Since what you think becomes what you do, when there is a positive change in your thinking, the end result is a positive change in your behavior. This is because you will act upon what you know to be true. This change in your behavior results in living a godly life that glorifies the Lord.

Knowing God isn’t just knowing about Him. If all you have is an intellectual comprehension of God, you are not going to gain what you need to live a godly life. You will only have increased in knowledge, not understanding.
