    About this Episode

This is demo episode #2 of The Looney Executive podcast show. Currently I'm experimenting with the storytelling format. The episodes are very basic in structure - no music or special effects. It's just the story.

When corporations declare war on each other ... they declare war!

The jungle is a strange place.

Sometimes the hunted becomes the hunter. The prey becomes the predator.

And that's exactly what happened in 1982 when the Bendix Corporation and the Martin Marietta company got tangled up in an uber-battle royale!

Both were large conglomerates, though Bendix was a little bigger. Both companies fought like hell to win this corporate war.

This saga was filled with intrigue, twists and turns, and strategic positioning. And after a little more than a month ... it was over. The ending to this business tale may be a bit surprising.

It became an instant classic in the business world. And business schools across the country introduced it as a case study.

Oh, one more thing.  Even the uber-popular 1980's video game Pac Man became permanently associated with this story.

    Want to know why?

Stay to the end and find out.

    Enjoy!
