The Gaming Pubcast - Episode 33

In this week's episode, Martin and Duncan discuss the Resident Evil 3 Remake, Bluey, and of course Duncan mentions Like a Dragon : Infinite Wealth, and also has a rant about the pitfalls of Xbox's Quick Resume!

Also, due to technical issues (Thanks #Nvidia ), YouTube viewers get to see the mess that is Duncan's 'shed'.

There have been more layoffs in the gaming sector, it seems like every company is getting their layoffs in, which sucks for the thousands involved 😔 The developer Toys for Bob had a slight glimmer in an otherwise dark week.

Final Fantasy Rebirth is here, and Duncan isn't happy, but hasn't been happy since FF12!

There's some big hardware in This Week in Gaming, PS2, Switch, and we talk about the big hitters of the console sales wars! Tune in next week for our Mario Day pubcast special!

The Gaming Pubcast - Episode 31

We jump straight into Xbox's 'Business Update' on the Official Xbox Podcast (no, we didn't know we had a competitor too 😉) and the details of what is, or in reality - isn't, coming to other platforms.

It's not the best news for PlayStation users, but isn't bad news either! They also revealed the first Game Pass addition from the Activision Blizzard King takeover, coming March 28th! Also, is Xbox in the hardware game for the long term, home console, or something else? Hear our thoughts on these developments.

Martin has been playing some more Rise of the Tomb Raider, and Duncan has been playing more Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth, so hear their updates on where they're at, as both are huge games. Plate Up is out on Game Pass and Duncan gives his brief review of this cooking rogue-lite.

The Gaming Pubcast - Episode 30

On this episode we welcome back Martin after an absence of a couple of episodes, but we lose Tom for this week!

Martin catches us up on what he's been playing, and he's been playing Rise of the Tomb Raider, so we discuss these rather excellent reboots, and the tombs that you raid!

Duncan has been playing and completing the Phantom Liberty DLC for Cyberpunk 2077, and of course playing more of the awesome Like a Dragon : Infinite Wealth.

In the news, the seismic shift of Xbox exclusives no longer being exclusive, and coming to PlayStation and Switch is heavily rumoured, is this a mistake on Xbox's part, a clever money maker, hardware suicide or not happening? We give our opinions as Xbox and PlayStation owners.

Also Microsoft have laid off more workers in Activision Blizzard studios, is this a predictable consequence of the takeover, or would it have happened even without the massive buyout?

The Gaming Pubcast - Episode 29

On this week's episode, we give a hands on review of Like a Dragon : Infinite Wealth, as Duncan has started playing this epic on his Steam Deck, and he gives his views after just starting.

Also, Duncan reviews his Anbernic RG35XX H retro handheld gaming machine. As his 6yo says, "It's like a mini Steam Deck"! (but for retro games)

Playstation's State of Play happened recently, and we talk about the announcements that came, Death Stranding 2, Ken Levine's Judas, Silent Hill 2 remake, Until Dawn (remake? remaster?) and another Hideo Kojima project, an espionage game. Was this a great State of Play, or was it more 'State of Hideo Kojima'?

Apple's Vision Pro headset is out and the reviews have been, well....good, with a few 'buts' in them. We briefly chat about it and will dive into it more in future episodes!

The Gaming Pubcast - Episode 28 - Bill Harbison Interview

The Gaming Pubcast - Episode 28 - Bill Harbison Interview

In this week's episode, we interview the artist Bill Harbison, who has worked on many iconic games, from Ocean Software's Daley Thompson's Challenge, to Robocop, then all the way to Lawn Mowing Simulator! We discuss the start of his career, the highs and the challenges and to be honest, this really could have been our first 4hr episode, but we thought we'd let him go! He's currently working on a game for a company called Spliced Inc., with a Rockstar Games and Travellers Tales pedigree, which we will hopefully get him back on to talk about when he can! https://www.splicedinc.com/

After the interview, we chat about games we've been playing, A Plague Tale : Requiem, Gameboy games, Cyberpunk 2077 : Phantom Liberty, and of course - Palworld.

That last one then provides another discussion about this phenomenon, Ark meets Pokemon, but it's not Pokemon....or is it? It's certainly caused a stir!

We also discuss the Xbox Developer Direct which finally revealed the Indiana Jones game from Machine Games, more Avowed from Obsidian and another in the Mana rpg series, which one are you looking forward to?

With pong home consoles, Indiana Jones games, a technical issue in the middle that should have challenged Duncan's editing skills, but he decided to keep in(!) and more, this is a jam-packed episode, and we hope you enjoy! Find all our links at linktr.ee/TheGamingPubcast

The Gaming Pubcast - Episode 27

In this week's episode we talk about some mobile games we've been playing, and Nintendo's attempts at entering the cash cow that is IOS and Android gaming!

Duncan found a retro game on Steam that he's sure he played years ago, involving an ant, dominos and Quaver crisps!

We then have a discussion about TV shows as games, from Star Trek to Postman Pat, from Knight-Mare to CSI. There's been some great, and not-so-great attempts.

The Gaming Pubcast - Episode 26

In this week's episode we talk about games we've been playing, such as Hell Pie, Celeste and a free game on itch.io Robocop vs Predator, but not before we've chatted about the refuse collection in our towns, these things are important to a gaming Dad!

Tom is back, so gives us his winners and losers from 2023, and yes he does mention Amstrad 😂

We have an updated chat about the future of gaming, is it mixed reality, VR or something else, or just more standard consoles and PC? The Switch 2, will it be an updated Switch, or something with a completely new interaction?

We end up with a short quiz on some big gaming stories of 2023, lets see if you can get them all?!
