Meet the Woman Behind the Incredible Childcare Center for Kids on the Autism Spectrum (Deja Ard)

Host Becky Hennesy brings on a new friend and reformer to the podcast. Her name is Deja Ard and her journey to launching a life-changing childcare center is incredible. It's a unique facility because it is specifically designed to assist children diagnosed on the Austism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Deja is all too familiar with this special needs world after her own son  was diagnosed with ASD at age 2. At first she struggled to find answers to help her son's behavior/speech development. Deja explains to Becky how she went through a series of emotions such as denial, depression, stress, defeat, confusion, guilt, anger, helplessness and most of inadequacy.

But her determination and perseverance paid off. Plus, a divinely-inspired mission trip to Costa Rica where she met a host of other parents with special needs children.  Deja returned from that trip with a vision to not just help her own son, but hundreds of other families experiencing the same challenges she had.

The result was brand new childcare facility called Spectrum of Love Childcare Center located in Duncanville, Texas. As all true reformers do, Deja worked tirelessly to build relationships with others around her. Specifically, she connected with local Independent School Districts, non-profit organizations, and local governmental officials to give her guidance on how to base her programs on the development of functional skills so that children will be successful and independent in school, at home, and in life.

Spectrum of Love Childcare Center classrooms are setup to model a structure vital to teaching functional skills within that academic environment. With Behavior Technicians leading classes and using Applied Behavior Analysis Techniques, Deja says unique students will be better equipped for a successful school year and home life.

Some of the activities at the childcare center include:
    - Breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack, and dinner
    - Occupational Therapy Techniques with arts, crafts, music and movement
    - Circle Time
    - Potty Training Assistance
    - Functional Life Skills station using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Techniques

Doing Whatever It Takes: He's Used Gatorade, Pizza and Even Cigarettes to Reach America's Youth in Public Schools! (Reggie Dabbs)

Doing Whatever It Takes: He's Used Gatorade, Pizza and Even Cigarettes to Reach America's Youth in Public Schools! (Reggie Dabbs)

Host Becky Hennesy welcomes America's favorite public school assembly speaker Reggie Dabbs to the podcast. Since the late 1980s, Reggie has been a familiar name for many teenagers who have heard him speak in hundreds of school systems, churches, youth camps and other events around the nation. His impact for the Kingdom is so broad and wide it's nearly impossible to measure.

He and Becky share about his latest move to the Dallas/Ft. Worth Texas region, where he's joined the Trinity Church pastoral staff. They also dive into how his role in the Kingdom has reformation roots that run deep into the hearts of America's youth.

    Links to Reggie's website: reggiedabbsonline.com

Born to an unwed teenager, Reggie was raised by foster parents until he was in the fourth grade, and then they officially adopted him and gave him the Dabbs name.

As the Dabbs’ reared Reggie, they instilled in him strong moral values, for which he is genuinely grateful. They also ingrained in him the fact that in every situation he faced, he had a choice. What he did with those choices was entirely up to him.

In the sixth grade, Reggie began playing the saxophone and hated it. At the insistence of his parents he continued to practice and to play. Not until his freshman year in college did he actually enjoy the instrument, and today, he plays with fervor and expertise.

After graduating from college, Reggie began his public speaking. During one speaking engagement, his host asked if he would be interested in addressing a high school assembly. From that small beginning in 1987, Reggie has become a popular public school speaker.

When addressing a school assembly, Reggie talks to the kids in a humorous style about choices each of them has when faced with drugs, alcohol, suicide, etc. Reggie gets in kids faces and tells them that he never smoked a cigarette, never did drugs, never drank alcohol, because he chose not to. He assures them that they can make the same kinds of choices.

Reggie talks to kids about family and how thankful they should be that they have families.  Most of all, Reggie drives home the fact that “You can never change your past, but you can change your future!”

She Hijacked My Podcast AGAIN! (Becky Hennesy & Jamie Lyn Wallnau)

It's happened again! Another friendly takeover! Host Becky Hennesy's good friend Jamie Lyn Wallnau walked into the Reformers Collective Podcast Studio, grabbed a mic, and then proceeded to insert herself as the question poser for this episode. What nerve!

Last time they broke down the Reformers Collective conference held back in October 2021. This time they discuss what makes Becky tick as a world changer herself and how she branched into this new realm of reformation. Plus Jamie Lyn realizes during the show how Millennialls and Gen-Zers like herself can learn key life tips from the (slightly) older generation. :)

Becky also reveals her secret to how she made the transition from being a self-proclaimed quitter to becoming a champion in the reformation business. It's a trait Becky says she's also observed in every other great reformer she's met.

From Living in a Cult to Reforming Christian Culture (Dubb Alexander)

Becky Hennesy introduces her podcast audience to another one of her new fast friends she has met in the past few months. His name is Dubb Alexander...and his life journey is almost too incredible to believe.

His parents were ex-hippie atheists who later accepted Christ..but then joined a cult, got kicked out of the cult, and then started their own off-shoot cult from that cult. Crazy but true. That's why it's easy to see why Dubb says he has personally experienced the chains of twisted religious beliefs. Today, he is on a mission by God to reach his generation with the authentic and authoritative power of true Kingdom living.

One of the ways he is seeing this come to pass is through launching  School of Kingdom, an online training center designed to equip and release followers of Christ into practical skillsets and eradicate false religious mindsets.

Credentialed by the United Nations, Dubb travels the world working with multiple presidents and other heads of state around the globe to bring Kingdom solutions to nations. Urban Ministry and the Beauty of Bonton Farms (Trog Trogdon)

Host Becky Hennesy sits down with a new kindred-spirit friend Trog Trogdon. They met in 2021 at a chance encounter at Bonton Farms, an urban ministry located in Dallas, Texas. Trog went on to attend and participate in Becky's first ever Reformers Collective Conference later that year in October...and they have been fast friends ever since.

Trog has dedicated his life to building the kingdom of God by doing a lot of small simple acts of love and kindness...over and over again. He is the kind of man that just looks and sounds like he could have been one of the 12 disciples following around Jesus! His passion to see others find the Truth in Christ is refreshing, attractive and encouraging.

After graduating high school, he earned his BBA and MBA from Campbell University in North Carolina. Following his degrees, Trog came to Texas for what he thought was a business opportunity, but the Lord had different plans.

Just before launching Kingdom Focus Coaching, he served as an urban missionary and VP of Discipleship with Bonton Farms where he invested his time making disciples.

Among his various nuggets of wisdom and stories, Becky and Trog also discuss his journey into ministry that began in Bolivar, Missouri...and they learn during the podcast of their shared common roots in the Ozarks where both spent time in school and training.

The Wonder Woman Who Founded Furnishing Families of Texas (Annabelle Wallnau)

The Wonder Woman Who Founded Furnishing Families of Texas (Annabelle Wallnau)

Annabelle Wallnau has mastered the secret of mixing her Christian faith with action..and she is using simple household items like mattresses and couches as her ticket to demonstrate the tangible love of Christ.

Host Becky Hennesy brings Annabelle onto the podcast to learn more about how this tour-de-force lady has impacted literally hundreds of hardship families (mostly single mothers). What started as an inconvenient water leak under a bathroom sink in Annabelle's home has transformed into a flood of generosity across the north Texas area. That heart to help bring reformation in people's lives is called Furnishing Families of Texas and she's become 'Exhibit A' of how everyday people can help match an available resource to a real need.

"In March 2018, we had a water disaster in our home that required us to remove the contents of a bedroom and give the furniture away," says Annabelle. "I called our local Rapid Rehousing program at The Center For Transforming Lives and within minutes they gave me the name of a woman who needed the bedroom set who was just moving into her first apartment."

Annabelle and a friend with her that day soon found out that the woman's 7-year-old son didn't have a mattress and had actually never slept in a bed in his life.  Annabelle and her friend responded by saying "not on our watch!" Within a day the boy was sleeping in his very first mattress.

Since then Furnishing Families of Texas has either purchased or negotiated the donation of over 300 beds, bedding, and housewares for single mothers and their children. What makes Annabelle's story even more amazing is that she operates strictly by a simple website and word of mouth to locate families who need helping hand with basic home furnishings.

According in her website, the DFW Metroplex has one of the highest homeless, single mother family populations in the nation. Furnishing Families of Texas is committed to breaking the cycles of homelessness and generational poverty through teaching and experiential learning.

Furnishing Families of Texas partners with local charities that help desperate families get a roof over their head. Many have nothing and will sleep and eat on the floor. The ministry works to provide beds, bedding, tables, chairs and other basic home necessities to these Moms and their children – at no cost to them. For many this will be their first kitchen table or first bed.

Annabelle is no stranger to effective ministry originating from the DFW area. Her husband, Lance Wallnau, is a well-known prophet, speaker, author and TV host. He also hosts his own podcast/YouTube show  called The Lance Wallnau Show
