    About this Episode

Anthony Bourdain is a real inspiration to me as a chef, cook, leader and person during his time on our earth. His books and television series inspired, entertained and gave insight to what one person was living and seeing around him while in and out if the hospitality industry.

Entertainment media has so many different views on the culinary industry; from the Hell's Kitchen completion shows that kinda started things in the reality TV area... but even then if you look at what is out there, reality TV has dominated the views given about the industry as a whole. Very rarely is there a decent fiction show that gives life and heart to the industry i've come to love and hate.

In 2005 FOX TV tried their hand at doing a TV series based off the book "Kitchen Confidential" by Anthony Bourdain and it was something interesting.

Then skip ahead to 2022 where another TV series appears to have done justice to the industry and especially cooks that deal with the real side of the business. Though fictional, it does a good job of presenting real world problems with care and heart.

    ::SPOILER WARNING!!::

This episode does speak about the two shows at some minor details, if you care about watching either with a blank slate than go and watch them and come back to this episode for an observation.

A quick chat with Chad Kultgen

This quick episode came about because Chad Kultgen said on one of his podcast, that he would be open to any podcast that asked, so, I wanted to challenge myself and remember what it's like to record and be a host. It was certainly an experience, it came and went; and i'm still alive. I was very Nervous. 20mins isn't a long time to chat with someone, it took me 20 mins to not be so nervous, so 40 mins total for me, and I've been in the hospitality industry for 15 years, not podcasting. Podcasting for 3 years now. Quick house keeping from my monologue.

Chad Kultgen is a Writer, Author, Podcaster and overall skilled in the entertainment business. On the podcast Dudesy with Will Sasso, it is an astonishing experience in entertainment with a discord community that is really active in memes and a Patreon with astonishing bonus content.  The Game of Roses Podcast focuses on the reality/game show/sport[?] of The Bachelor and other series within the same universe, on the podcast with Co-Host Lizzy Pace, they explore the strategy to being a winner of that series. With having Authored a book around how to win The Bachelor... "How to win the Bachelor" he's also authored "Men, Women, and Children" and other titles. He's done quite a bit. He has also Written/Co-Wrriten a favorite movie of mine, "The Incredible Burt Wonderstone" [In the chat we had I totally flubbed the name and I think, made an ass of myself. Very Sorry Chad, no disrespect, I was very nervous.]

Final Look back on Season 3

Final Look back on Season 3

The End of this season bring me to understand where I want to take this podcast. The freedom to publish when I like is very nice. No set scheduling and no real huge expectation to get it done for now. If this ever becomes a monetized project, I will put way more into this than I currently do.  For now, here is the equipment I use:

    Equipment:

    Focusrite Scarlett 2i2

Really Nice Compressor FMR Audio RNC17773

Art (Applied Research and Technology) Tube Amp Studio

    iMac with Logic

    Sterling Audio ST51 Condenser Microphone

    Now having said that....

    Now having said that....

Now that the summer has come and the motivation to do more than play games and watch TV; it's the final words from our guest.

All three recordings are from a long time ago now, something I hear more about from other podcasters. John Sedlak: August 2nd 2021, Luis Cuevas: July 21st 2021, and Andrew Rodriguez: March 15th 2022. Sitting on these recording is very interesting, though I haven't actively been editing, I have been listening to them to try to make something special.

There was time once to sit and plan things out but once the real world comes into the picture, everything that is of hobby/homework tends to end to a certain degree or at the very least need to be done when inspiration hits.

    The Technique Episode

    The Technique Episode

As always Andrew Rodriguez is working on his Catering gig, of just creating great food at pop ups or for hire. _Murderdxout_ on instagram is a good way to see what he's working on. Los Angeles based currently, but he's always on the move so keep an eye out for it.

Luis Cuevas is currently in school and moved out from Texas. Very Proud of him.

John Sedlak is catering out in North Carolina and thru conversation, I learn a lot about what knowledge a seasoned chef has to bring to the table and reflect on.

    The Brilliant Obstacle

    The Brilliant Obstacle

Having written out the outline for this season long ago, I had these wonderful chat with my friends and former co-workers.

Luis came with such a positive vibe.

Andrew hit the knowledge of a creative chef with love for the craft.

John hit with solid experience and knowledge.

These three friends hit so many different levels of the industry.

Soon we'll be heading into new territory with guest with even more observations.

    The Hopeless Situation

    The Hopeless Situation

This topic came about because of the new role that we some choose to accept. Being a leader can be difficult and sometimes very difficult at times because of people who passionately disagree, but it's those who really don't give a fuck other than they need a paycheck; that's when life can be difficult for basic standards that tend to lead to just feel defeated.

John Sedlak always has a great story to tell of days past, and when we get a chance to chat and swap stories; it's eerie sometimes how similar the situations get. Dealing with people when you really try and care is one thing, but to be the person that can change the work environment with an idea in efficiency, and your boss shuts you down... that sometimes can be a low blow that can fester. I've said it before, for those of us out there that try to do a good job, we tend to beat our selves up the hardest inside, even if situation doesn't seem like such a big thing.

    The Culture and our Future

    The Culture and our Future

I'm so proud of myself to keep pushing... how long will it last.

Every time John and I talk we seem to just go for gold. So many interesting and sometimes aggressive talk come out. Even though we try to stick to subject sometimes we just lose track of what we were saying, but for me it is so enjoyable to share and re-share moment and times of our lives.

As a point of interest, ::Spoiler:: When John and out crew were in Texas, we stayed at a hotel called the candle wood. We kind of go over this... but it did have a full kitchen to work off of, and I tried to take advantage on the days we had there. It wasn't until Jordan and I were granted 3 weeks at an apartment where we really tried to go hard. Many awesome people/chefs came to our little home away from home to have some great, interesting and some what wild time.
