    The movie follows a small town in South Carolina that is invaded by an extraterrestrial parasite that turns its inhabitants into zombies. The story centers around a local man named Grant Grant (Michael Rooker), who becomes infected by the parasite and gradually transforms into a grotesque monster.

    The town's sheriff, Bill Pardy (Nathan Fillion), teams up with Grant's wife, Starla (Elizabeth Banks), and a group of survivors to stop the parasite before it spreads and takes over the entire town.
