After the DetBlock Crew went on an unexpected month long break due to some medical emergencies within Mike's family, the Crew is finally back to talk more #StarWars!  Don't worry; everything with Mike's family is now fine!

With the #premiere of #BadBatch season 3, releasing three episodes to start it off, Dustin and Mike watched all three and then jumped on to talk with thoughts, feelings and opinions fresh on their minds.  It feels like it has been quite some time since they've had some content to #REVIEW!  To note, there are SPOILERS for the episodes as they talk through them.  With the premiere, we received the following episodes:

For today's episode, Mike and Dustin look to provide a trailer reaction video for the recently released official Star Wars: Bad Batch Season 3 trailer.  Dustin may or may not have already watched it... shhhhh... but, Mike provides his initial reaction being the first time he has seen it.  Either way, both are excited to finally dive into the final season of the show!

After that, and maybe a little sports and Lord of the Rings talk, the two of them announce some pretty exciting news for the podcast that will take place in the near future.  As a hint, it is something they've discussed doing since later season 1 or early season 2 on the show.  They've finally made concrete plans to do what they want to do and it will happen on March 8th of this year.  What is it?  Well, you'll just have to come and listen!

Mike and Dustin return for the start of season 4 of Detention Block AA-23: A Star Wars #podcast to break into 2024  For this week's episode, the two look to discuss the recent announcement and confirmation of the new Filoni and Favreau #movie that will be released within the #Mando universe of #StarWars.  The film will be call The #Mandalorian and #Grogu, which production for the #film will  begin this year [2024].

On top of that, there has been a lot of heated attention towards words spoken by the director of the upcoming #Rey film, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy.  Unwarranted or not / controversial or not, it seems that the reaction to the comments will, and are, impacting fans' interest level in not only the #film, but #Disney and Star Wars itself.  Come listen to what the DetBlock Crew have to say about that.

Finally, the Crew discuss what Benioff and Weiss have come out to say about what happened with their previous Star Wars project that got axed.  They have come out to provide insight on what the film would have been about and reasons behind why their project ended up on the chopping block.

With today's episode, the DetBlock Crew look to talk about the recent big news about #DaveFiloni being named the Chief Creative Officer of #Lucasfilm for future #StarWars film, shows and other content.  He will be working directly with Kathleen Kennedy to oversee the next generation of Star Wars.  Fans have been calling for Dave to obtain more control for Star Wars stories and it looks like fans will be getting what they want!  As far as DetBlock is concerned, this is fantastic news!  At the same time, the crew look to discuss things like what this means for content going forward, how much control will Filoni actually have, how this could bring back confidence in Star Wars content and could this be more smoke and mirrors more than anything?  A majority of us have full confidence in Filoni; but, does anyone actually have control when under the umbrella of something as big as #Disney?  Come find out what we think!

Furthermore, the Crew dive into some deep conversation as it relates to polarizing agendas within our current society, along with the struggles and division people of today face, and how elements like these impact the quality of content we are receiving as viewers.  They may go on a bit of a tangent here; however, they look to keep it relevant to what we are seeing out of Star Wars and Disney content as of recent.  What comes first to Disney: the story being told or the intent behind it?
