"Church on the Rock," preached by Ethan Harris
Ethan Harris shares on Matthew 16:11-18 about the foundation and identity of the true Christian Church worldwide throughout time. Here is the Scripture text (NIV): 13 When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked his disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?” 14 They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” 15 “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” 16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” 17 Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven. 18 And I tell you that you are "Peter," and on this rock I will build my Church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.

    "Every Ligament for Christ!"

    "Every Ligament for Christ!"
January 26, 2014 at Oak Heights Ligaments: Fibrous tissue that connects bones to bones, to form joints. Eph. 4:16 From Him [Jesus] the whole Body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work. No longer Gentiles! No longer infants! (v. 17-20, 14) "you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking." (v 17) "...until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ." (v 13) Plug in and try ministries so we can all grow in Christ! Why does Jesus give spiritual gifts? (v. 11-12) We’re given the gifts to prepare us for works of service… to build up the Body. There are different kinds of gifts, and service, and working. (1 Cor. 12:4-7) "To each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good." We are knit together in the Body, with different functions, for the common good. (See also Romans 12:4-8) "Use whatever gift you have received to serve others." (1 Pe 4:10-11) "In faithfully administering God’s grace… so that in all things God may be praised." If I don’t do my part…… The body suffers. It does not pull together and grow. Nobody - can replace me! I DO have a part to play! Each “Body part” has a job to do.
