    About this Episode

In this Advent sermon Pastor Keith explains that Jesus is the True Light of the world who came to bring to give life, conquer darkness and reveal God to us. Many people think they can overcome the darkness themselves by looking to experts, scholars, mystics, to the state, the market & technology. Yet none of these deliver on the light that we truly need or give us the quality of life were designed to experience. And the problem with the darkness is not just that it’s out there in world but it has also crept it’s way into our hearts and lives. So we each need a Savior who can deliver us from darkness, shine the light of his grace and truth in our lives and free us from the domain of darkness. F.F. Bruce wrote that the “light is a synonym for goodness and truth and darkness is a synonym for evil and falsehood.” Charles Wesley wrote about this light and life that Christ came to bring in his famous Christmas hymn Hark The Herald: Light and life to all he brings, Risen with healing in his wings Mild he lays his glory by, Born that man no more may die: Born to raise the son of earth, Born to give them second birth. Hark! the herald angels sing, "Glory to the new-born King !"

A Stuffed Life Vs. A Kingdom Life

A Stuffed Life Vs. A Kingdom Life
Jesus calls us his followers to guard against covetousness and worry and counter it by having an eternal perspective and a Kingdom pursuit. A nagging desire for more than what you have diminishes your enjoyment of what you have, it dishonors God who has graciously provided what you have, and it demonstrates ingratitude and discontentment. And Jesus offers us a better way of life. Jesus, who is the source of life, offers us a life that reflects the values of His Kingdom.
