Although sports are on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic, the NCAA is making strides to help solidify new rules around paying student athletes. The NCAA Board of Governors has announced that it supports rule changes that would allow student athlete compensation for third party endorsements and promotions related to and separate from athletics. The stage for this progress was set by California SB206, the Fair Pay For Play Act. California State Assemblyman Steve Bradford is one of the sponsors of this bill and he joins us to talk about it on This Lady Loves Sports.

27 year-old local artist, Jiovanny Lopez found his talent by going through a tough time. In 2013, Jiovanny broke his clavicle while he was playing soccer. His whole life changed completely since that day. Due to the surgery, the doctor told him to find a way to keep his arm in motion so his arm wouldn’t become paralyzed. Art therapy was his first choice and ever since, he can proudly say that it was for the best.
