    Dr. Nitin Sethi: The Neurosurgeon Who Fights for Boxers

    Dr. Nitin Sethi is a neurologist, boxer, and chief medical officer for the New York State Athletic Commission. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, he completed his residency in neurology at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center. He is board-certified in neurology and has a special interest in concussion and traumatic brain injury.

    Dr. Sethi is a passionate advocate for the health and safety of athletes. He is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, the American College of Sports Medicine, and the National Academy of Neuropsychology. He is also a member of the New York State Athletic Commission, where he is responsible for ensuring the safety of athletes competing in combat sports.

    In addition to his medical work, Dr. Sethi is also a competitive boxer. He has won several amateur boxing championships and has competed in professional boxing matches. Dr. Sethi's boxing experience has given him a unique perspective on the risks and benefits of combat sports. He believes that combat sports can be a healthy and rewarding activity for athletes, but he also believes that it is important to take steps to mitigate the risks of injury.

    Dr. Sethi is a dedicated physician and a passionate advocate for the health and safety of athletes. He is a valuable asset to the New York State Athletic Commission and to the world of combat sports.
