You have to listen further to find out what makes them ‘unconventional’ but being remote-first has allowed fournova to continually assess their needs AND decide to ‘go against the grain’ because that’s what they need to do their best work.

Being remote-first for over 5 years has left them to not only witness the benefits but also address the present challenges that are less tangible; more so keeping the relationships healthy within a remote team.

Tyk is an API (application program interface) management platform. As an open-source gateway, Tyk’s proprietary piece of software allows people to manage the gateway easily and at scale. Being remote out of necessity since day 1 meant they had to build the company with a remote ethos from the get-go and have only been working towards improvements ever since.
