Victoria is an experienced commercial pilot with a confidence problem. She found herself having lots of time in her logbook, but the circumstances under which she flew those hours began to make her a rusty pilot. When she realized this, she began to doubt her abilities. Victoria tells the story of her struggles to overcome this confidence and competency problem in the cockpit, and the victory that ensures months later.
The first segment of this episode was recorded at the 2018 SUN 'n FUN Fly-In on the deck of SUN 'n FUN Radio. There's a lot of background noise, so we hope you we bear with us as we add a little "atmosphere" to the episode.

Amy Gesch shares the story of a flight she took with several other pilots and airplanes to an annual fly-in to Lockwood. An inaccurate weather forecast was only the beginning. Inexperience, peer pressure, and get-there-itis all combined to make a situation ripe for disaster.
Amy is the Product and Piston Aircraft Sales Manager at Wipaire. She holds a private pilot certificate with a tailwheel endorsement. She is a sport pilot flight instructor, and she has a seaplane rating. Amy also owns a 1936 J-3 Cub which has been converted to a PA-11.

Mike Harris, host of the fantastic Why We Fly podcast, shares the story of his adventure flying around the island of Oahu in Hawaii. Back home in Tennessee, Mike owns a Piper PA-22 Tri-Pacer. But on this particular trip, he and his wife were able to rent an airplane to see Hawaii from the sky.

Abingdon is fully immersed in aviation and has made it her career. In these Logbook Memories, she tells the story of a pair of rather harrowing ferry flights.
Abingdon's ratings include CFI, CFII, and ATP, and she holds several type ratings. Abingdon is a respected ferry pilot. In this episode, she tells the story of a couple of her earlier ferry jobs.
When she isn't flying, Abingdon is running her business designing and selling "Adventurous watches for adventurous women". Abingdon wanted to reward herself with a new aviator watch after accomplishing a difficult goal only to find there weren't any decent women's watches available. So she got to work and designed her own.

Ken VeArd has flown into EAA AirVenture Oshkosh five times, and he shares the story of four of those trips with David and Mike. The second of those flights was flown with David in the right seat, so we get to hear his perspective as well.
Ken has been involved in aviation since 1997 when he created the first version of the Pilot Partner electronic logbook. Since then, Ken has flown many different types of aircraft and is even an accomplished skydiver. With all of his flying experience, we could created a whole season of Logbook Memories. For now, we will stick with flying to the World's Greatest Aviation Adventure, EAA AirVenture Oshkosh.
