    About this Episode

As a young kid growing up on the northside of Kenosha, Alex Kudrna was already a producer – directing the neighbor kids on his backyard stage. He has grown up with a love for Kenosha and in 2016 purchased the Orpheum building in Downtown Kenosha – his goal is to bring Hollywood to Wisconsin and Kenosha via film industry tax incentives!

Alex has launched the O-Coworking Space in the Orpheum building and, with the help of producer Ken Stouffer, brought Backyard Dream Productions  to reality. Backyard Dream specializes in local video production and can help you bring your advertising to the next level!

Visit the Backyard Dream Studios page here!

If you or someone you know is in need of an independent working space, for a day, for a week, or something more long-term, check out the O-Coworking Space in the Orpheum building at 5819 Sixth Ave. Check out their website here for more info!

It took Chet Griffith a few years after moving to Kenosha to finally explore the local art scene, and when he finally did, it rekindled the love of art that had lay dormant. He picked up his pencils again and became a member of Lemon Street Gallery and ArtSpace. A few years later, his skills at framing helped him launch his own art supply and framing store – ArtWorks. Today, ArtWorks has moved to its current location at 4513 Sheridan Road and now features The Pencillarium! What is a penciallrium, you ask? Chet has the answers, or just stop in and see for yourself! Crank it up to 11, because we are going to rock it with Ronny Valeo! We got the one and only Kenosha music legend to come out of hiding and sit down and talk about his life....

From his first guitar, to his factory job, to a certain thrash frontman breaking down in tears, Ronny Valeo recalls his life as the guitarist for alternative metal band Screamer and industrial metal band The Electric Hellfire Club, as well as owning Kenosha’s coolest record shop, Grand Central Records, with his brother Leonard – for 30 years!

    Recommended rocking:

Screamer – “Outcast” from “Target Earth” (1988)

Electric Hellfire Club - “Where Violence Is Golden” from “Burn Baby Burn” (1993)

    w/Frank J. Parise

    w/Frank J. Parise

When Frank Parise was in third grade, his teacher asked him to read the classic novel “To Kill a Mockingbird.” and he became enraptured with the character of Atticus Finch. When most kids wanted to grow up and become sports athletes or rock stars, Parise wanted to be a lawyer. It was a tough road, but he did it, and by happenstance, he was brought back to his hometown of Kenosha to practice law. Today, he leads The Law Offices of Frank J. Parise, where they specialize in criminal defense – drunk driving, speeding and traffic violation, juvenile cases, and more. If Frank can’t help you, he will surely find someone who can! If you are in need of legal assistance, you “Better Call Parise” at 262-656-9906!

But this episode isn’t all just boring lawyer talk! One of Frank’s favorite hobbies is playing the guitar and he has shown his talents all over Kenosha in local bands like The New Vinyls and Vinyl Remix – his bands have never taken themselves too seriously, they take the stage to have a party with the guests and a show with Frank Parise at the mic and holding a guitar is always a great time. Watch for his new musical collaborations coming soon!

    w/Aaron Hunzinger-AHdidit

Growing up just south of Kenosha in Gurnee, Aaron Hunzinger was a tinkerer – he had a fascination with taking things apart and seeing what made them work. Also a young subscriber of Mini-Truckin magazine, he developed a love for cars at a young age.

Evanston Awning Company, has been going strong for five generations. How does an awning company stay relevant in a world of air-conditioning? They create awnings for numerous films and TV shows for period sets in Chicago and the area, starting with “The Untouchables” in 1987, leading to run-ins with numerous Hollywood celebrities over the years.

However, when the working day is done, that’s when Aaron really starts to shine as the operator of AHdidit – his little hobby of creating lamps caught the eye of a pretty woman he met who encouraged him to see his creations as art, which led to a few exhibitions at Lemon Street and the Chicago “Tour of the Chi-Tower.”

Today, Aaron is a proud family man who still loves to create, whether it's still making lamps, or creating leather items. But now his working space has grown and he has returned back to one of his earliest loves – working on cars in fun and interesting ways. Follow AHdidit on all those social media accounts, including Facebook and Instagram, and if you have any interest in seeing him hard at work, check out his live feeds on YouTube and TikTok!
