    South Louisiana has an amazing water safety resource in Shelly Ripple Rogers and Crawfish Aquatics. Shelly is a former NCAA Champion swimmer and a member of the Stanford Swimming Hall of Fame. Now, as CEO of Crawfish Aquatics, Shelly is able to help families gain the skills to be water prepared for a lifetime. On this episode of ParentingU, Shelly explains to host Stephanie some of the basics about how to talk to kids about water safety (without making water scary); what swim skills can be learned at what ages; practical tips for making the pool a safer place to be; and what a Water Watcher is and how to be a responsible Water Watcher.

Nicholas George, MD, pediatrics and internal medicine physician with Our Lady of Lourdes Health, shares the advice he gives parents to help ease the transition from pediatric to adult primary care.
