    Podcast Summary

    • Left thrives on crises to gain more powerThe left exploits crises to take away individual freedoms, increasing government power at the expense of personal rights. Stay vigilant and resist giving up freedoms.

The left and totalitarian regimes thrive on crises, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, to gain more power over individuals. Dan Bongino, in his show, warns that the left loves power and will use crises to take away individual freedoms, such as property rights, the ability to choose medical treatments, and even the requirement to wear masks. Yuri Besman, a defector from the Soviet Union with KGB experience, has warned about this tactic in the past. Bongino urges listeners to be aware of this and to resist giving up their freedoms willingly. The left's desire for collective government power comes at the expense of individual power. It's important to remember that power is a zero-sum game, and more government power means less individual power. Bongino encourages individuals to stand up for their rights and not be "useful idiots" in the hands of the government.

    • Using public health as an excuse for totalitarian policiesAdvocating for policies under public health umbrella, unaware of consequences, can lead to totalitarianism. Climate change office in HHS is an example.

The concept of using public health as an excuse to implement totalitarian policies is not a new tactic. Yuri Besmanoff warns that those who advocate for such policies under the guise of public health, but are unaware of the potential consequences, can become the first victims of a totalitarian regime. The creation of a new office within the Department of Health and Human Services to treat climate change as a public health issue is an example of this tactic being used again. This not only allows for the implementation of regulations and demands that would not abide by constitutional processes, but also uses identity politics to gain support. The most dangerous collective group of people, according to Besmanoff, are "stupid smart people" or useful idiots, who fail to heed warnings and become unwitting victims of these policies.

    • CDC's Gun Violence Research Sparks Debate on Civil LibertiesThe CDC's focus on gun violence as a public health issue sparks controversy, with concerns over potential infringements on civil liberties and Second Amendment rights. The speaker highlights the inconsistency of mask mandates and the left's push for diminished liberties.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) under President Biden's administration is planning to spend millions of taxpayer dollars on research and tracking gun violence as a public health issue. This move has raised concerns about potential infringements on civil liberties and Second Amendment rights, as some believe it could lead to gun control measures. The speaker argues that the left, driven by a desire for power, will continue to push for diminished civil liberties under the guise of public health. The inconsistency of mask mandates for the general public versus exemptions for politicians and elites was also highlighted as an example of hypocrisy. The speaker's principles include respecting individual autonomy over health decisions, but opposing the hypocrisy and inconsistency of those in power.

    • The Left's Consistent Standard: Shut Up and FollowThe left sets a standard for others to follow their lead, attempting to take away individual sovereignty, especially during crises like the pandemic. Be aware and push back against power grabs. Some figures like Biden and Maddow disregard people and lie to the public.

There is a consistent standard set by the left, which is for others to shut their mouths and follow their lead, rather than a double standard as some may perceive. Matt Walsh from The Daily Wire made this point during a discussion, and it was emphasized that this standard comes with an attempt to take away individual sovereignty over various aspects of life, including economic affairs, education, and civil liberties. The left's actions during the coronavirus pandemic were highlighted as an example of this, and the importance of being aware and prepared to push back against such power grabs was emphasized. Another takeaway was the disregard for people and lies from figures like Joe Biden and Rachel Maddow, who have been criticized for abandoning people and misleading the public. The GenU cell summer blowout sale was also mentioned as a promotional opportunity for listeners to try the product and see results for themselves.

    • Lying about leaving Americans behind and attacking reportersPress secretaries denying stranding Americans in Afghanistan and attacking reporters over it is a new low, potentially leading to dire consequences for those left behind

Press secretaries, regardless of political affiliation, are tasked with spinning information for their respective administrations. However, lying about leaving American citizens behind and attacking reporters over it is a new low, even for press secretaries. The discussion highlights the case of Peppermint (Gen. Tarango) and her denial of stranding Americans in Afghanistan, despite evidence to the contrary. This behavior, according to the speaker, is particularly egregious and unforgivable. The consequences of such actions can be dire for those left behind, potentially leading to hostage situations, kidnappings, or even death. The speaker's frustration is palpable, as they've witnessed the devastating effects of such decisions firsthand. The lack of accountability and the disregard for American lives is a serious concern.

    • Criticism of Hasty US Troop Withdrawal from AfghanistanMSNBC commentators criticize Biden's hasty Afghanistan withdrawal, damaging US credibility, leaving Americans and allies behind, and creating a potential humanitarian crisis. Military leaders responsible should resign.

The withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan under President Joe Biden's leadership is widely perceived as a disaster. MSNBC commentators, including Richard Engel, have criticized the hasty exit, which they believe has damaged US credibility and left Americans and Afghan allies behind. The abandonment of the country to the Taliban, who have a history of human rights abuses, is seen as a clear cut failure. Military leaders who made the decisions leading to this outcome should resign, according to the commentators. The consequences of this event could be long-lasting, potentially damaging Biden's presidency and creating a humanitarian crisis for those left behind. The lack of accountability and transparency from those in power regarding the situation is also a cause for concern.

    • Importance of facing harsh realities, not seeking feel-good newsDisturbing accounts from Kabul airport reveal abandoned US promises and stranded Americans, underscoring the gravity of the situation and need for accountability.

During this discussion, Dan Bongino emphasized the importance of facing the harsh realities of the current crisis rather than seeking feel-good news. He shared several disturbing accounts from Laura Logan's Twitter, including stories of stranded Americans and abandoned US promises at the Kabul airport. Additionally, Dan shared an image of alleged US service animals left behind at the airport. He believes that a person's treatment of animals is an indicator of their character. These stories underscore the gravity of the situation and the need for accountability.

    • Speaker urges fact-checking of disturbing Afghan photos and videosThe speaker expressed concern over potentially false content depicting animal cruelty and abandoned military equipment in Afghanistan, while promoting the Teeter Free Step Recumbent Cross Trainer for fitness and joint health.

A plea was made during a broadcast for fact-checking the authenticity of disturbing photos and videos, allegedly showing animal cruelty and abandoned military equipment in Afghanistan. The speaker urged for a sincere fact-check, expressing personal concern and distress over the content. Additionally, a product promotion was included for the Teeter Free Step Recumbent Cross Trainer, emphasizing its benefits for fitness and joint protection. The speaker shared their personal experience with cancer and the role of fitness in recovery. The broadcast also featured emerging videos from Afghanistan, with concerns raised about the military's claims of demilitarizing the equipment left behind.

    • Taliban Gain Control of Billions in American Military EquipmentThe Taliban have seized control of American military equipment, including helicopters, weapons, and vehicles, estimated to be worth billions of dollars. This could be used against American interests or sold on the black market, increasing instability and potential for conflict.

The Taliban have taken control of significant American military equipment left behind in Afghanistan. This includes helicopters, weapons, and vehicles. The exact amount of equipment is disputed, but it's estimated to be in the billions of dollars. The Taliban now have access to this equipment, which could be used against American interests or sold on the black market. The lack of accountability for the situation is also concerning, as no one seems to be taking responsibility for the debacle. The potential for friendly fire incidents or misunderstandings in future conflicts is also a serious concern, as the Taliban now have equipment that looks identical to American gear. American credibility has taken a hit, and the situation is an embarrassment.

    • Retired flag officers call for Austin and Milley's resignationRetired military leaders demand accountability from Austin and Milley for the botched Afghanistan withdrawal, damaging military credibility and shifting media narrative.

A growing number of retired flag officers are calling for the resignation of Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley due to the handling of the Afghanistan withdrawal. This comes as new gold star parents are speaking out due to the lack of accountability, and some find the behavior of officials like John Kirby disrespectful. The officials are refusing to take responsibility and instead trying to blame previous administrations. Meanwhile, the media is shifting the narrative from a disastrous surrender to a great evacuation effort. The resignations of these military leaders are being demanded due to the damage done to military credibility and the mishandling of the situation in Afghanistan.

    • Prioritize Health with Convenient, Nutrient-Dense ChoicesFocus on incorporating healthy habits, prioritize nutrient-dense foods, and make health convenient for optimal wellbeing.

Taking care of one's health goes beyond just following the latest trends or mandates. The speaker emphasizes the importance of incorporating healthy habits into one's lifestyle, such as consuming nutrient-dense foods like those offered by Fielder Greens. He encourages listeners to prioritize their health by making it convenient, as with their product, which is easy to prepare and packed with essential fruits and vegetables. The speaker also criticizes the current political climate and the focus on diplomacy and soft power without a strong foundation of hard power. He argues that true change and effective diplomacy come from a position of strength. Overall, the speaker encourages listeners to prioritize their health and be aware of the political landscape while staying informed and critical of the information they consume.

    • Personal experiences shape our future choicesStanding up for oneself and learning from past experiences can lead to resilience and better future decisions. Criticizing weak political decisions and advocating for knowledge and ethics in leadership.

Personal experiences can shape our future choices and determine our resilience. The speaker shares his experience of being beaten up as a kid and how it led him to learn self-defense. He emphasizes the importance of standing up for oneself and never negotiating from a position of weakness. The conversation then shifts to politics, with the speaker criticizing the Biden administration's decision to approve chip sales to Huawei and labeling certain individuals as "useful idiots." He also shares a story about debating with a supposedly smart person who lacked basic knowledge of a topic. The speaker ends by praising Ron DeSantis for standing up to school boards over mask mandates and expressing skepticism about the idea that the government can tax its way out of a spending crisis. Overall, the speaker emphasizes the importance of personal experiences, knowledge, and ethical use of power.

    • Bernie Sanders' proposed spending plans exceed the wealth of US billionairesBernie Sanders' spending plans cost more than all US billionaires' wealth, highlighting the need to scrutinize political proposals' feasibility.

The wealth of the billionaires in the United States does not come close to covering the spending plans proposed by politicians like Bernie Sanders. According to a recent op-ed in the Wall Street Journal, even if every dollar and asset of the billionaires were confiscated, it would not be enough to cover Bernie Sanders' proposed spending plans for this year alone. The article emphasizes the importance of understanding the numbers behind political proposals and encourages listeners to ask their liberal friends about the feasibility of taxing the rich to fund such spending plans. The article also suggests alternative apps for listeners to continue enjoying the show as Google Podcasts is being discontinued.

    An American-Style Protest in Canada

    An American-Style Protest in Canada

Canada has employed strict restrictions in its efforts to fight the coronavirus pandemic. But unlike in the United States, such measures have received very little pushback or politicization — until recently.

Truckers protesting a vaccine mandate have occupied the nation’s capital, Ottawa, for three weeks, leading Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to declare a state of national emergency.

We ask how Canada got to this point, and hear what the protest is like on the ground.

Guest: Catherine Porter, the Toronto bureau chief for The New York Times.

Do we know enough about gun violence to solve it?

Do we know enough about gun violence to solve it?
President Joe Biden calls gun violence in America an “epidemic,” and some researchers are once again calling for a public health approach to the problem. Right now, there's a major shortage of knowledge about the prevalence of firearms, the explosion of injuries and fatalities surrounding them and the best ways to prevent or reduce the impact of gun violence.

In this episode of Dear Ohio, Curtis Jackson explores the Dickey Amendment, an obscure provision attached to the annual appropriations legislation for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for a quarter century. It prohibits the CDC from using federal funds to advocate for or promote gun control. Curtis talks to a northeast Ohio researcher about the challenge of a public health approach to gun violence.
