    About this Episode

Hello and welcome to Live Mindfully with Lori Moore. I am, of course, your host Lori and every week I hope to inspire you with topics that make living the best version of your life simple and easy.

I believe there is a huge amount of potential in each of us, but sometimes life gets in our way. When we slow down, it gives us the space to recognise that just as much beauty exists in the little, ordinary moments; as in the big, extraordinary ones, in fact the little moments are what make our lives great.

New episodes will drop weekly on Wednesday.

    Thank you for being here.

A Simple Way to Set Difficult Boundaries

A Simple Way to Set Difficult Boundaries

Brene Brown, renowned Shame Researcher, has a wonderful boundary mantra: "say yes to discomfort and no to resentment".

In today's episode I am sharing my experience with the silent boundary method. This method was something I started about 5 years ago and it has worked miracles in my relationships, especially the one I have with myself.

To achieve the Silent Boundary Method, we need to normalise three things:
    1) Saying no without justification and extra details
    2) Creating space before giving an answer IE "I'll need to check some things and if it's a yes, I'll come back to you"
    3) Letting the other person have their response - disappointment, anger, upset; without taking it on board ~ this is by far the hardest, but if we learn to accept and expect this, we won't see other people's response as proof that we can't set boundaries.

Is the Road to Happiness, Accepting that you Aren't?

I've given up trying to cure my mental illness and it's done wonders for my well-being - this was the headline from a recent article I read on MSN and in today’s episode I explore if the road to better mental health and to happiness is accepting that the opposite is true.

    Let’s get started.

Something You Never Knew About Your Health & Nature

Two weeks ago I started researching the Power of Crying. It was during this research that I stumbled across information I had not heard of before - how our environments are made up of both positive and negative ions and how much of an impact these ions are having on our health.

Sit back, relax and prepare to have your mind blown!

The Power of Crying. When you Release, you Heal (Part 2)

The Power of Crying. When you Release, you Heal (Part 2)

In today’s episode I am sharing Part 2 of The Power of Crying. When we Release, we Heal; with a particular focus on why some of us cry more than others and what drives this behaviour.

As it turns out this was not an easy question to answer, with a range of conflicting research and ideas delivered by Psychotherapists, Clinical Psychologists and Biochemists. I have compiled it all here though and hopefully have made some sense out of it for you.

As always, the best expert of you is YOU! So always take any new research with a healthy dose of 'is this true for me'!

The Power of Crying. When We Release, We Heal (Part 1)

The Power of Crying. When We Release, We Heal (Part 1)

In today’s podcast I am sharing the power of crying and as an non-crier myself, this episode was so much deeper for me than any I have recorded so far. This episode taught me the power of releasing on not just a physical, but on an energetic level as well and how much emotion and energy is held in our tears.

When you release, you heal. It’s that simple.

Right Before You Walk Through the Door, Do This!
