What I Want to be When I Grow Up... Again

Let me start by saying, this episode is for GROWN FOLKS ONLY! One of my doctor sister-friends and I had quite the conversation about what intimacy looks (and feels) like to us, in our 40s. Enjoy.

"Isms" happen in every community. Little did I know, White people can also experience forms of colorism. I spoke with one of my brunette brown-eyed friends about what it was like to grow up knowing your grandmother wished you looked different... more White American. She heard the phrase "no daughter of mine..." too many times to count.
