    enAugust 31, 2021

    Podcast Summary

    • Staying true to your authentic self in content creationCreating content authentically, even when it feels unsuccessful, can lead to a loyal following and eventual success.

Creating content authentically, even when it feels like nothing is happening, can lead to success. Gary Vee shared his personal journey of making videos and starting businesses before they became popular trends. He emphasized that he didn't do it for views, money, or followers, but because he loved it. Despite facing setbacks and feeling like everything he did went bad, he persisted and eventually found an audience who appreciated his unique perspective. His dedication to being true to himself and sharing his passion resonated with people, leading to a loyal following. The key takeaway is that staying true to your authentic self and creating content that reflects your unique voice can lead to success, even if it doesn't happen overnight.

    • Authenticity and consistency matter on social mediaFocusing on numbers can hinder genuine connections, prioritize authenticity and consistency for deeper audience engagement

Focusing too much on numbers, such as views and followers, can hinder the true connection and engagement with an audience on social media platforms like TikTok and YouTube. Instead, being authentic and consistent in creating content, engaging with comments, and going live can lead to deeper connections with a smaller, more dedicated audience. The speaker in this conversation expressed a desire for more meaningful interactions, but felt disconnected despite having a large number of views. It's important to remember that building a genuine community takes time and effort, and it's not just about the numbers.

    • Juggling multiple jobs and struggling to create engaging contentStay persistent, be open to feedback, and continually strive for growth in content creation. Don't get discouraged by low view numbers, instead use them as opportunities to improve and evolve.

Consistency and quality are key in content creation. The speaker shared their experience of juggling multiple jobs and struggling to create content that resonates with viewers. They received advice to mix up their content format and try new things, as their current approach was not yielding significant viewership. It's important to not get discouraged by low view numbers but to instead use that feedback as an opportunity to improve and evolve. The speaker's determination to keep going despite the challenges is commendable, and the advice they received offers valuable insights for anyone looking to create engaging content. Additionally, the speaker's age was mentioned, highlighting that it's never too early to start creating content and seeking ways to improve. Overall, the conversation emphasizes the importance of staying persistent, being open to feedback, and continually striving for growth in content creation.

    • Staying true to oneself in content creationAuthenticity and self-expression are key to creating engaging content. Ignore trends and seek validation from your audience instead of others.

Creating content authentically and being true to yourself is more important than following trends or seeking validation from others. The speaker shares his experience of attending ComplexCon and being inspired by Gary Vee to switch up his content. He also expresses his frustration with his boss's disapproval, but decides to stay true to his vision. The speaker emphasizes the importance of listener reviews and feedback, and encourages authenticity and self-expression in creating content. He concludes by expressing gratitude for the support and encouragement he receives from his audience. Overall, the podcast highlights the importance of staying true to oneself and creating content that resonates with one's audience.

    • Mindfulness as a Form of Meditation for Personal Growth and Business SuccessPracticing mindfulness, a form of meditation, improves mental states and leads to personal growth and business success.

Even if Gary Vaynerchuk doesn't label his daily activities as meditation, the ability to listen, observe, and speak with one's higher self is a crucial component of both personal growth and successful business leadership. This mindful approach is a form of meditation in itself, allowing Gary to maintain focus and productivity throughout the day. Therefore, it's essential for all of us to practice mindfulness, whether we call it meditation or not, to improve our mental states and achieve our goals. So, keep listening to the podcast, and remember, you might just get a shout-out if you leave a thoughtful review.

The Ultimate Marketing Strategy to Apply for Your Business Today

Today's episode is a keynote I gave in Dubai last year. I talk about the importance of staying up-to-date with the latest changes in platforms and popular culture. I emphasize that if you obsess over these two things, you will consistently produce better content.

I also stress the importance of communication in achieving your goals, both professionally and personally. I discuss the commoditization of products and the shift towards the ability to create demand for them. My talk emphasizes the importance of modern branding and the art of producing compelling content through pictures, videos, and written words.

Ultimately, this talk serves as a wake-up call to those who have not yet committed to producing content for their business. If you are not producing content every day, you are leaving opportunity on the table.

    HIBT Lab! MKBHD: Marques Brownlee

“Right now I have approximately 70-ish subscribers,” declared a teenage Marques Brownlee at the beginning of his 100th YouTube video back in 2009. Marques recorded his first of many product reviews earlier that year, after buying his first laptop. Quite simply, he wanted others to have more information about this computer than he did when he bought it.

Since then, Marques has grown his channel, MKBHD, into a full-fledged business with more than 16 million subscribers and over 3 billion total views. He’s expanded beyond reviews too, posting interviews with well-known public figures like Kobe Bryant, Bill Gates and Elon Musk.

This week on How I Built This Lab, Marques reflects on his journey as a content creator and how he turned a love of tech into a lucrative and sustainable business. Plus, he shares his philosophy for building a strong team – which interestingly enough, is inspired by an octopus...

Embracing Mistakes: Overcoming Limiting Beliefs & Finding Authenticity w/ Dr. Justin Moseley + Molly Trotter

Embracing Mistakes: Overcoming Limiting Beliefs & Finding Authenticity w/ Dr. Justin Moseley + Molly Trotter

On this episode of The Mindset Doctor Podcast with Dr. Justin Moseley, our host interviews Molly Trotter on the topic of "Comfort to Calling." Molly shares her journey of embracing mistakes and failures, even among admired individuals like Ellen DeGeneres and Oprah Winfrey. She highlights the importance of hiring help to overcome limiting beliefs and improve presence.

Molly discusses her personal experiences of messing up on live television and encourages others to embrace mistakes and start again. She suggests bringing people in on unexpected situations instead of hiding them, as it allows for a more authentic connection. She also shares her strategy of carrying a pen and sticky notes during live appearances to handle distractions.

Molly explains how she didn't grow up around intelligent entrepreneurs but found an online mentor and studied their methods to learn and grow. She emphasizes her addiction to growth and how it led her to absorb knowledge through books, conferences, and events.

The speaker addresses the fear of getting on camera and promotes the importance of serving others rather than focusing on oneself. She advises starting messy and getting on camera, even if it's with a phone or on social media. Molly also emphasizes the need for clarity on the three pillars of content for social media: entrepreneurship, financial freedom, and wellness.

She primarily works with high performers in the six to nine figure income range, helping them with organizing their thoughts and branding their businesses to avoid confusion. She also has a group program for beginners starting from zero to six figures. Molly is passionate about teaching and empowering leaders to have a positive ripple effect through servant leadership.

Molly shares her aspirations of being in the news to give the underdog a voice. However, she found mainstream news to be depressing and focused on doom and gloom. She faced resistance from the industry when trying to bring something new and authentic to the table. Eventually, she left the industry and now helps people share their stories on her live show on Instagram, as well as helping coaches and entrepreneurs be their authentic selves on social media.

The importance of the story and message behind content is emphasized, rather than appearances or how one is perceived. Molly's commitment to her goals and pride in not relying on her parents for support played a major role in her success. She credits past mistakes and learning experiences for her growth.

She left her previous job after being fired for posting a transformation photo related to health and fitness. Molly moved to Orange County, California, and started figuring out her own businesses, taking on debt and opening credit cards to survive. She prioritized finding her calling rather than settling for a nine-to-five job.

Molly now helps people gain confidence on camera through video marketing and focuses on reaching their intended audience on social media platforms. She emphasizes the importance of authenticity and transparency, especially through video, to build trust and genuine connections. Molly shares her personal experiences with doubt and criticism but chose to ignore negativity and continue her journey.

The episode concludes with Molly discussing the importance of understanding belief systems when helping people overcome fear and take action. She emphasizes the need to address the root causes of fear and pain rather than dismissing them. Molly values deep impact over follower numbers on social media and finds joy in witnessing her clients experience breakthroughs and liberation from societal pressures.
