    About this Episode

Looking back at the death of our child, we often feel guilt and regret.

We think we could have done better.

We could have done something else.

Blaming ourselves seems the right thing to do.

But how is punishing you for what you seemingly did, is helping anyone?

Letting go of the guilt might seem scary, but accepting "what is" is freeing, and focusing on the future you is the most loving and impactful thing you can do today.

Creating Your Own Peace: Why Closure Isn't the Key to Moving On

In this episode, host Liene talks about closure and the misconceptions surrounding it. She explores why we believe we need closure to move on and why that's not necessarily true. Liene discusses the importance of understanding that closure doesn't always bring peace and that it's okay not to have all the answers. She offers guidance on how to create your own peace by choosing to be okay with not knowing, and how to move forward with your life while still honoring your grief. Ultimately, she reminds listeners that grief is a part of life and that it's okay to allow it to be a part of our emotional spectrum.

How to Reach a Place Where Grief is Not Dominant in Your Life Anymore

How to Reach a Place Where Grief is Not Dominant in Your Life Anymore

In this podcast episode, Liene addresses the question of how grieving can eventually stop. She explains that while grief never completely goes away, it eventually becomes less dominant in our lives. In the early stages of grief, our brains have to update our mental maps to match our new reality, which takes time and experiences.

Liene also shares her personal experience, saying that while she still experiences grief waves, she almost misses the early grief and encourages listeners to pay attention to and experience their own grief journey.

    Low GI Thoughts

In the same way, as we fuel our bodies with food, we fuel our lives with the thoughts we are thinking.

A glucose monitor helps to see how certain foods affect you.

How do we create similar awareness about how our thoughts impact us?

Retraumatization or Why Do I Get Triggered with no or Little Reason?

Today I want to talk about retraumatization.

I'll talk about what it is and how to deal with it.

We can't necessarily control when and if we will experience retraumatization events, but if we learn to recognize what is happening, we'll have an easier time processing it and not becoming overconsumed by it.
