    About this Episode

On the latest episode of the Women in Business podcast series, sponsored by UBC Sauder School of Business…

Celeste Haldane, chief commissioner of the British Columbia Treaty Commission, tackles economic reconciliation, work-life balance and taking risks.

"Part of taking risk is knowing when to actually push a boundary to make some change," she says. In her professional and volunteer roles, Haldane is working to push boundaries and move the needle on reconciliation. Investing in talent, respect and communication are key to that mission, and to the work of being a leader.

"We have to ensure that we are hearing everyone's voices. Sometimes we aren't going to like what we hear, and sometimes they might not like what we have to say either. But it's about creating that space, and it's about having that dialogue."

Business in Vancouver’s Women in Business podcast series features in-depth conversations with women who have risen through the ranks of respective fields.

Join host Hayley Woodin weekly over the next month for more discussions with women who lead. New episodes will launch on May 13 and May 21.

Four episodes. Four women. Four unique stories of leadership.
