In this one-off live special of Dicey Topics BENJAMIN LAW gets CLEMENTINE FORD, STEPHANIE WOOD and JESS HILL to bare all about SEX, DEATH and RELIGION

In Good Weekend magazine every Saturday, Benjamin Law interviews prominent people – artists, designers, businesspeople, actors, scientists, athletes, politicians – about private topics: (1) sex; (2) death; (3) money; (4) religion; (5) politics; and (6) our bodies – by getting them to roll a dice. His hunch is these taboos represent some of the most important conversations we can have and with this panel it certainly proves to be true!

    WWF 2019 "On Shame"

FEATURING: Lee Kofman, Luke Carman, Stephanie Wood, Jess Hill, Gala Vanting

Shame is one of the most pervasive and tough human emotions. How does shame reshape
us? And how can we extricate ourselves from its abyss? Writers’ best works, though, often dwell in the caves of shame, and for them shame can be a reliable barometer to detect those urgent stories they need to tell.

      WWF 2019 "The White Girl"

TONY BIRCH talks to LUKE CARMAN about his Miles Franklin shortlisted book "THE WHITE GIRL"

In The White Girl, Miles-Franklin-shortlisted author Tony Birch shines a spotlight on the 1960s and the devastating government policy of taking Indigenous children from their families.

Odette Brown has lived her whole life on the fringes of a small country town. After her daughter disappeared and left her with her granddaughter Sissy to raise on her own, Odette has managed

to stay under the radar of the welfare authorities who are removing fair-skinned Aboriginal children from their families. When a new policeman arrives in town, determined to enforce the law, Odette must risk everything to save Sissy and protect everything she loves.

Scone 2020 "Ethics in an Age of Doubt"
You don’t have to look far today to find ethical failures causing widespread social disruption: fake news, the growing power of tech companies, dishonest political campaigning, child sex abuse scandals and cover ups within religious institutions and the rise of alt-right agitators giving new license to racism, misogyny and hatred. What are the building blocks for social growth in a disrupted age? Do we need an ethical infrastructure to help us navigate through these difficult times? And how should individual agitators, critics and commentators engage with institutions and the public to build social cohesion and a better society?
