    Podcast Summary

    • Exploring Relationship Dynamics through Virtual Couples TherapyCommunication and understanding are crucial in relationships, even during heated moments. Finding common ground through empathy and connection is essential.

Jared and Ray, the hosts of the Dropouts podcast, recently had an unconventional experience by pretending to be a couple and attending a virtual couples therapy session. During the session, they role-played having issues in their relationship, with Ray expressing feelings of being a bottom in their dynamic and Jared denying past affection. The session became heated, with Jared declaring that he never loved Ray, leading to a long, silent hug between the two as a way to reconnect and find common ground. The experience served as a reminder of the importance of communication and finding ways to connect and understand each other in relationships.

    • Unexpected connections in mundane situationsUnexpected encounters can lead to meaningful moments and even bring positivity to unexpected people

Even in the most mundane situations, like waiting for a podcast guest, people can find creative and unexpected ways to connect with each other. Jared and the speaker discovered this when they unexpectedly attended an online therapy session together out of boredom. This unexpected encounter led to a heartfelt moment of reconciliation and even brought some light to the therapist involved. Meanwhile, the speaker also shared her exciting experience of directing her first music video. These anecdotes remind us that sometimes, the most meaningful connections can come from the most unlikely places.

    • A seemingly minor action can lead to major consequencesBeing careless with simple tasks can result in significant negative outcomes, and it's important to stay aware of your surroundings

A seemingly minor action, like locking a door automatically, can have significant consequences, such as inadvertently causing a friend to be robbed at gunpoint. The discussion revealed that a friend, Makai, had left some belongings in his car while he went inside a house. The door locked behind him, and when he returned, he was robbed. The group was initially unsure if the friend had been locked out or if it was an accident, but later learned that a robber had been parked behind Makai's car, trying to rob the house. Although the friend was shaken up, the group acknowledged that the door locking may have saved the entire house from being robbed. However, the incident left everyone with a sense of unease and a reminder to be more aware of their surroundings.

    • A house shoot in the US leaves an Australian expat feeling uncomfortable and scaredAn Australian expat's encounter with gun violence in the US led to fear, valuable lessons, and a reminder of cultural differences in gun ownership and safety.

The unfamiliarity and prevalence of gun violence in the US compared to the speaker's home country of Australia led to a scary experience during a house shoot. The speaker, who grew up in an area with little exposure to guns or violence, felt uncomfortable and scared when confronted with a robber brandishing a weapon. Despite the initial fear, the speaker was able to handle the situation and learned valuable lessons from law enforcement. This experience served as a reminder of the cultural differences between the US and Australia regarding gun ownership and safety. Additionally, the day started off chaotically with the robbery, but the rest of the day went smoothly, and the speaker was proud of how everything turned out. However, the incident left the speaker feeling uneasy and unsettled, highlighting the stark contrast between the two countries' safety concerns.

    • Disrespect of Personal Boundaries Leads to Unwanted InteractionRespect others' personal space and communicate considerately. Set clear boundaries and stand up for yourself.

Personal boundaries were disrespected during an interaction at a store, leading to an uncomfortable and unwanted situation. The man's inappropriate behavior, including grabbing and insinuating intimate relationships, escalated into a heated argument and eventually his departure. It's important to respect others' personal space and communicate in a respectful and considerate manner. The incident also highlights the importance of standing up for oneself and setting clear boundaries. Unfortunately, the speaker was an innocent bystander and unable to help during the altercation. Additionally, the speaker mentioned a GoFundMe campaign due to a knee injury, emphasizing the need for support during challenging times.

    • From crime to cinema: Overcoming challenges and pursuing dreamsDespite facing crime and hardships, an individual remains grounded and humble while pursuing a movie deal with a renowned director, reflecting resilience and determination.

The individual in the conversation has had a challenging experience with crime and is currently working on a potential movie deal with a prominent director. Despite the hardships and the excitement of the potential opportunity, they remain grounded and humble. The person has faced recent crime incidents, including harassment, assault, and a gunpoint situation. They've been trying to reach out to their donors and thank them for their support. In the midst of these challenges, they've also shared their passion for writing scripts and movies, mentioning a long-term project that they've been working on for almost four years. Recently, they had a call with a director who has made several movies with budgets over $100 million. The director was impressed with their script and expressed interest in working together. Although they downplay the potential opportunity, it's clear that this is a significant development for them. The individual's favorite childhood movie is one of the projects directed by this potential collaborator, making the situation even more exciting.

    • Perseverance and determination lead to successDespite hardships and occasional tangents, staying optimistic and excited for the future can lead to growth and success. Value relationships and support for continued progress.

Perseverance and determination can lead to great success, even when facing challenging circumstances. The speakers in this conversation shared their experiences of living in a small apartment, writing scripts, and eventually having their work recognized by industry professionals. They also discussed the simple joys in life, such as finding a song that relates to a situation or feeling. Despite the hardships and the occasional tangents, they remained optimistic and excited for the future. Through their conversations, it's clear that they value their relationships and the support they receive from each other. Ultimately, they remind us that even in the most difficult situations, there is always the potential for growth and success.

    • Our experiences shape us deeplyExperiences, whether joyful or challenging, leave lasting impacts on our emotions and memories

Our experiences, whether they involve personal accomplishments or family dynamics, can significantly shape our emotions and memories. The speaker shared a fond memory of hitting a home run in kickball, which brought him immense joy and happiness. He also discussed a strange punishment method used by his parents, which left a lasting impact on him. The speaker's story illustrates how our experiences, both positive and negative, can leave a profound impact on us and shape our lives in meaningful ways. Additionally, the speaker's appreciation for cooking and Italian culture was a lighthearted moment in the conversation.

    • The Value of Stepping Out of Your Comfort ZoneTrying new experiences, even if they're disappointing, can lead to memorable moments and unexpected connections.

Trying new experiences, even if they're outside of our comfort zones, can lead to unexpected and memorable moments. In the discussed podcast episode, the hosts shared a story about receiving a disappointing lasagna from a friend, which they compared to their usual, simple meals. Despite the initial disappointment, they ended up talking about the lasagna for a week afterwards, and the friend even offered to make a new one. This experience inspired the creation of a new segment on the podcast called "Uncomfort Zone," where the hosts intentionally step out of their comfort zones with the help of a guest. The segment aims to result in funny stories, and the first participant was Jared. The hosts also joked about their past criticisms of a guest named John, who is now trying to redeem himself by taking them on adventures outside of their comfort zones. Overall, the discussion highlights the value of trying new things, even if they don't turn out perfect, and the potential for memorable experiences that can come from stepping out of one's comfort zone.

    • Trying new experiences can lead to unexpected joysEmbracing new experiences, even if unusual, can result in enjoyable outcomes and potential benefits for relaxation and mindfulness.

Trying new experiences, even if they seem unusual or out of our comfort zone, can lead to unexpected and enjoyable outcomes. John took Jared for a sound bathing session to welcome the new Aries astrological year, which initially made Jared anxious. They drove an hour to Manhattan Beach, and Jared assumed they were going on a flight. Instead, they did surfing lessons and sound bathing. Although Jared tried to suppress his laughter during the session, he eventually gave in and found the experience to be more enjoyable than he anticipated. The session included a breathing exercise and meditation, and the use of bowls made of different minerals and crystals. While some may find the concept of sound bathing and astrology strange, the experience can offer relaxation and mindfulness benefits.

    • A transformative meditation session on the beach with crystal bowlsExperience the power of crystal bowls in meditation, write down desires and let go of negativity for a life-changing experience

A unique and transformative experience was had during a meditation session on the beach, involving the use of crystal bowls and self-reflection through writing on heart-shaped papers. The resonating frequencies of the crystal bowls were believed to have induced a trance-like state, leading to feelings of hypnosis, warmth, and a connection to something greater. The participants wrote down things they wanted to let go of and attract, and the experience was described as life-changing and even transcendent. No monetary compensation was received for sharing this experience.

    • A spiritual reset through chakra activation during a sound bath sessionJohn and the speaker felt a spiritual connection and rejuvenation during a sound bath session, despite the lack of scientific evidence supporting chakra activation

John and the speaker had a unique spiritual experience during a sound bath session where they felt their chakras being activated. They felt various sensations and received visual images, each corresponding to a specific chakra. The speaker felt it in her heart, while John felt it in his solar plexus. Despite the uncertainty of the duration of the session, they both felt a sense of connection and lightness afterwards, as if they had undergone a spiritual reset. The experience left them feeling amazed and curious, leading them to consider attending more sessions in the future. However, they also acknowledged the lack of scientific evidence supporting the existence and activation of chakras. Overall, it was a mystical and memorable experience that left them feeling rejuvenated and connected.

    • Earth Day events, sound baths, and Elon Musk's Twitter investmentThe group discussed Earth Day events, sound baths, and debated their value. They joked about creating uncomfortable experiences, then turned serious discussing Elon Musk's recent investment in Twitter and his influence.

During their discussion, the group touched upon various topics including Earth Day events, sound baths, and Elon Musk's recent investment in Twitter. The conversation started light-heartedly with discussions about attending Earth Day events and sound baths, but later turned more serious with a debate on the value of these experiences. The group also joked about creating their own uncomfortable experiences and classes. Towards the end of the discussion, they shifted gears to talk about Elon Musk's recent investment in Twitter and his stance on free speech. The group was surprised by Musk's investment and saw it as a demonstration of his significant influence and wealth. Overall, the conversation was a mix of humor, introspection, and current events.

    • Musk's public engagement sets him apart from BezosMusk's ability to listen to the public and implement their suggestions distinguishes him from other wealthy individuals, but fame and wealth come with challenges.

Elon Musk, with his record-breaking net worth, is seen as a philanthropist who listens to the public and uses his wealth to make a difference. Despite Jeff Bezos' significant fortune, Musk's ability to engage with the public and implement their suggestions sets him apart. The conversation also touched on the idea of joining an exclusive club like the Illuminati, which raises the question of whether the potential benefits outweigh the costs. Ultimately, the group acknowledged that fame and wealth come with their own challenges, and it's essential to consider the cons before pursuing them.

    • Love knows no boundaries in family relationshipsAcceptance and love for unconventional relationships are crucial, communication is key, and family support plays a significant role.

Love knows no boundaries, not even those of family or sibling relationships. In this conversation between two individuals, who are not siblings but have been mistaken for so, they share their news of dating each other. The non-biological father figure in the situation expresses his unwavering love for them and accepts their relationship with open arms. The discussion also highlights the importance of communication and the significance of family support in accepting unconventional relationships. The siblings also share their excitement about introducing their new partner to their father and making it a family affair. The conversation ends with a reminder of the importance of supporting each other through various life experiences and expressing gratitude for the audience's engagement with their podcast.

What's up party people! We're back with another fun themed episode but this week we travel back in time! Maybe idk the timeline is a little fuzzy on this one. This week Zach and Tara talk about their experience meeting Tara's idol, we explore the depths of one of our love lives, and there might be a new Dropouts couple to ship you'll just have to watch and see...We hope you enjoy!

    P.S.

We sincerely apologize for another shorter episode this week :( As you can see this was shot on the same day as the Mount Everest ep and just for a little context, because of everybody’s schedules we had to shoot two episodes AND a music video all in the same day to make sure we were able to put out our regularly scheduled episodes for you all. I hope you can understand and give us a little grace for that. I also wish I could say that we’d be back to our normally scheduled program next week but to be honest with you, the next time we film will most likely be while we’re in NYC for our East coast live shows! Now, no promises, but that episode may or may not have a very cool guest on it 👀 What I can say for certain is that it’ll still be another week until we’re back in the diner. We always want to give you the best content possible and sometimes life gets busy and hectic and tries to throw a wrench in that plan, and we’re just trying our best to uphold that promise to you all. Thank you for coming along this journey, you truly mean the world to us. Can’t wait to see everybody on tour next week!!

Thank you to the team at Thurgood Media for creating the back drop for us!https://www.thurgoodmedia.com/ What's up party people! Okay, first order of business we'd like to formally apologize for the shorter episode this week. As you can see we filmed in a special location this week, but with that (and also a few technical issues) came some time constraints that we couldn't avoid. We were also filming a VERY cool project the same day that i think many of you will be excited to see 👀 We always want to provide you all with the best content we can and we hope that this unique location and all the behind the scenes effort we put into every episode and this one in particular, at least somewhat makes up for it... Second order of business, we still have a great episode for you! Despite what the background might say, things start off HOT this episode with some drama between two of our cohosts 👀 You'll just have to see for yourself who's a part of that. Following the drama, Zach and Skyler fill us in on all the wild antics they got into while at Stagecoach. Then to round it all out we dive into an introspective, thought provoking question that you all might want to ask yourselves. It just might make you look at yourself in a different light. This week on Relationships 2.0 my guest is Arthur P. Ciaramicoli, EdD, PhD author of The Stress Solution: Using Empathy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to Reduce Anxiety and Develop Resilience. This is part 2 of our chat about his book. About the book: Therapeutic tools for fighting the anxiety, fear, and depression caused by stress “We work too much, sleep too little, love with half a heart, and wonder why we are unhappy and unhealthy,” writes clinical psychologist Arthur Ciaramicoli. In The Stress Solution, Ciaramicoli provides readers with simple, realistic, powerful techniques for using empathy and cognitive behavioral therapy to perceive situations accurately, correct distorted thinking, and trigger our own neurochemistry to produce calm, focused energy. He developed this approach over thirty-five years of working with clients struggling with depression, anxiety, and addictions. Over and over again, he has helped sufferers overcome old hurts and combat performance anxiety, fears, and excessive worry. Ciaramicoli’s pioneering approach offers new promise to readers facing a variety of stress-based concerns. About the author: Arthur P.
