    From their website:

Courtney decided to pack up her bags and move across the county with her pets. Corbin, an Oklahoma native, joined the Navy in 2015 as a corpsman; spending his time in Virginia, California and Japan. The couple met in September of 2021 and have been inseparable since. Together, they have a full house with a cat, 5 dogs and 20 chickens.

The average age of the American farmer is currently 65 years old. Lazy C is owned by a woman, and a veteran, card carrying tribal member, both under the age of 30. We are incredibly proud that we are adding to the gender, age and ethnic diversity in the agricultural industry.

Out of 10,000 veterans in the United States, 21% were experiencing homelessness at the start of last year. Veterans make up about 6 percent of the population of the United States but 8 percent of the country's homeless population. This program is being created to help decrease those numbers. In 2020, the overall unemployment rate for veterans was 6.5%. This program will offer job opportunities to veterans who held a job in the military that doesn't correlate with a career in the civilian sector. Our program is unique in that we are hope to better the lives of service members. Not only are we offering a transitional ease and a new career to the military members, but we are striving to offer housing and a living stipend to the veterans going through our program so that way they are able to focus on their education with less financial stress.

With the help of our program attendees, we hope to offer top line beef. We are actively building our herd but have finally reached the point where we are taking orders on quarter, half and whole beef. If you are interested, please send us an email and we will set you up.

Bridging the Gap of Producer + Consumer with the Rancher's Daughter

Bridging the Gap of Producer + Consumer with the Rancher's Daughter

Farmers feed the nation, but sometimes it is hard to know how to support your local farmer and rancher. When a consumer wants to not only support a farmer, they want to know where their food is coming from, but finding the farmer can be a challenge or if you just want to try a product without fully committing to a full cow... that's where Karoline @rose.karoline + Grayson @gcott_4 come in.

They are very passionate about education surrounding the agriculture community. Today on the podcast, they share their purpose of starting a brick and mortar business called, The Rancher's Daughter

The Rancher's Daughter is a farm-to-table retail store on Highway 2 in Kalispell, Montana partnering with local agriculture producers to bring safe and diverse products to the Flathead Valley.

Repurposing Products you Grow + Live Events

Repurposing Products you Grow + Live Events

Today's episode we talk about repurposing products you create or grow for other uses.
We grew corn. This year, I am bundling the corn stalks to use in our fall festival as decorations and put them up for sale for others to purchase for their own fall decor at their house.

Along side talking about our experiences of gardening....which are not entirely successful, we are starting to share our ins and outs of putting on a festival and what that entails!

My goal with our ranch is to continually share our experiences. Often times I see events that are ran that are 10 years old, 20 years old, etc and I often compare myself to their 10th year when I am on year 2... I want to share with you what we are learning, that way if you're interested in replicating something, you know some hidden secrets from someone who is learning it in realtime.

Another part of why we share is because a lot of what we do holds our entire heart. I think it's important to share your why, how you do something, and invite people to be apart of what you're building because it allows them to know just how thoughtful you were in placing a *pumpkin patch* in this location, building a place to take photos year after year, and when someone can see the steps, they can feel excited to be apart of the finished product.

Life is not always pretty. We have a tremendous amount of work ahead of us and it often gets rocky, but those moments of sharing are just as important as the picture perfect moments.
