    About Dr. David Phelps

David owned and managed a private practice dental office for over twenty-one years. While still in dental school, he began his investment in real estate by joint-venturing with his father on their first rental property in 1980. Three years later, they sold the property, and David took his $25,000 capital gain share and leveraged it into thirty-one properties that later produced $15,000 monthly net cash flow.

Life was good, the sky was the limit - until the dark day that David’s daughter, Jenna, was diagnosed with Leukemia. In the midst of cancer treatments, epilepsy and ultimately a liver transplant for Jenna, David made the crucial decision to leave clinical practice so that he could spend every moment with his daughter.

David’s “Plan B” (a portfolio of cash-now producing real estate assets) gave him the freedom to focus 100% on what mattered most. Jenna won the battle with the disease, and David still enjoys the Freedom to cherish every moment with her that he can.

Today, David is a nationally recognized speaker on creating Freedom, building real businesses, and investing in real estate. David helps other logical, rational professionals become dreamers, then strategically manifest those dreams into Freedom. Under David’s leadership, the Freedom Founders Mastermind Community grows exponentially, year by year, providing the pathway to Freedom for many professional practice owners.

    About Brian Scudamore

Serial entrepreneur and author Brian Scudamore, has always taken the road less traveled. At just 19 years old, he pioneered the industry of professional junk removal with 1-800-GOT-JUNK? turning a chore people avoid into an exceptional customer service experience. Then he scaled that success into two more home-service brands, WOW 1 DAY PAINTING and Shack Shine, under the O2E Brands banner.

Brian learned the ins and outs of the business by running his own and believes that anyone with a fire in their gut and a vision for doing something incredible can do the same. His philosophy, WTF (Willing To Fail), stems from his belief in the power of dreaming big, taking risks, and learning from mistakes. Through franchising, he’s giving thousands of aspiring entrepreneurs the chance to BYOB (Build Your Own Business, Be Your Own Boss), and live their dream of business ownership.

    About Chris Grainger

The journey of creating The Lion Within Us has been fueled by my desire to help others and glorify God. I am blessed to be in several leadership positions in a professional and spiritual capacity. First and foremost, I’m a devoted husband to a loving wife, a true “Proverbs 31” Woman and the strongest person I know. Together, we lead a family of three beautiful girls. I’m currently a deacon at my church and a Certified Financial Coach. Professionally, I work as an Engineering and Services Manager in Raleigh, North Carolina.

There was a point in time where my life was spiraling out of control and I felt helpless. By the Grace of God and sheer willpower, I was able to take inventory of my life, analyze and improve my habits, and become the man that God has called me to be. Though I’ve faced difficult storms involving love and loss, I’ve been blessed beyond measure and God has never left my side. I want to use my testimony to encourage others and let them know that they too can find joy and fulfillment in the midst of the most difficult storm.
