We often forget about our primary problem (sin) and our most needed solution (forgiveness). Jesus didn’t. His healing of a paralyzed man was a reminder about the purpose of his miracles, to point to his authority to forgive sins and thus solve our biggest problem in life.

Everyone loves someone. The challenge is loving everyone, even the people who are noticeably different than you are. Jesus calls us to that standard, to imitate the God who loves different people and serve our friends, enemies, and everyone in between.

The only logical reaction to the love of God is loving others. Far more than a feeling that we can’t control, true love acts, gives, serves, and sacrifices, which has a supernatural way of building trust, healing wounds, and restoring the feelings that we once felt.

The healthiest, holiest, and most wonderful example of love is the love God showed us in sending his Son. This message soaks in the divine love that we have received in Jesus, a love we didn’t deserve but God still chose to give.
