We are in our home state of Virginia this week with two spooky stories for you! First, Kenzie shares the haunted tales that lurk in the Great Dismal Swamp. This desolate bog has centuries of Native legends and ghost stories that are still believed to this day! Then, Lauren talks about the mysterious abilities of Edgar Cayce. He became the talk of the town when he realized his ability to diagnose people’s ailments and suggest remedies despite zero medical training. Are these two local legends true? This week we have a special episode to kick off celebrating Lauren’s birthday! Lauren chose the theme for this episode and decided on stories with a plot twist! Aside from all the fun facts about Lauren and March 2nd, we have two stories complete with eye-popping, mind blowing plot twists. The birthday girl is up first with a story about a woman named Angela Diaz and her husband Ian Diaz. Angela is tormented by a deranged stalker through emails, craigslist ads, and random men showing up to her house. As police close in on a possible suspect, they realize that everything is not as it seems. Next up, Kenzie talks about the story of Lt. Charles Joseph "Joe" Gliniewicz of the Fox Lake Police Department. This tragic story has an even more tragic plot twist that you truly won’t see coming. We are headed out west this week to Nevada! First up, Kenzie shares the mysterious cases of Jessica Foster, Jodi Brewer, Lindsay Harris, and Misty Marie Saens. These four women went missing from the Las Vegas area in the early 2000s. Three of the four women’s body parts were found off of major highways and one is still missing to this day. These cases take a bizarre twist when a man is killed during a home invasion and police suspect he may be responsible for killing anywhere from 8 to 10 people. Then, Lauren shares some classic Vegas stories and tells us about different casino heists that were both successful and unsuccessful. One of the stories she shares is about one of the only heists where a suspect got away with all the money and the police still aren’t sure how he did it. Lauren and I have many conspiracy theories we think may have occurred in these two very mysterious Nevada stories!

We stay in the Midwest this week because we are talking about Iowa! First, Lauren talks about the unsolved murder of Myrtle Cook. A prominent, and strongly disliked, community figure who was shot while sitting in her living room. Detectives had a harder time eliminating suspects from the list rather than adding them. Next, Kenzie shares some stories from Iowa that are more spiritual than spooky. The Vincent House, built in the late 1800s, is said to be haunted by up to 25 different spirits! Including the previous owners. LaVona and LaVelda Rowe of Iowa City weren’t your typically identical twins. These twins claimed to have a very strong ESP connection. We have a special winter episode this week with two eerie winter crimes. Lauren takes us back to the winter of 1998 where a Missouri family disappears without a trace. There was no sign of Susan Brouk or her two children, and the Brouks didn’t take their winter coats or snow boots and it was below freezing. After the family is discovered murdered about half a mile from their home, investigators began the search for who could commit such a heinous crime. Kenzie covers the unsolved case of Rhonda Hinson who was murdered coming home from a company Christmas party. Investigators seem to think it's a lost cause and will never be solved, but the family is still holding out hope 40 years later. You better get warm and cozy before listening to this chilling episode!

This week we are celebrating Kenzie’s birthday! In keeping with the theme, we discuss crimes that occurred on November 24th (Kenzie’s birthday). Lauren goes first with the heartbreaking story of Sabrina Aisenberg. A 5-month-old who disappears from her home in the dead of night and is never seen again. To this day, no one knows for sure what happened to baby Sabrina. Then, Kenzie talks about the most mysterious solved murder case of the 20th century. The media dubbed it the Babes of the Woods Murders to refer to a child murder case in which the bodies of three girls were found in Pennsylvania woodland. We start off “season 3” with our country’s most northeastern state, Maine! Mount Katahdin, located in Baxter State Park, is one of Maine’s natural wonders. It is Maine’s highest peak and is the northern end to the Appalachian Trail. It draws in many hikers, some of who are ill prepared for the difficult hike to the trail’s end. Lauren shares with us three daunting stories of travelers who didn’t make it to the top, some who were never seen again and one who made it out alive. We are back with our regularly scheduled programming with Connecticut! This week, Kenzie shares all the strange and bizarre structures throughout Boothe Memorial Park. Built by the Boothe brothers over the course of 40 years, the park contains many architectural feats, including a 44-sided Blacksmith Shop, and possibly spirits from the past! Then, Lauren tells us about Dudleytown, an abandoned settlement located in an area called Dark Entry Forest. Many believe this town is haunted by a curse bestowed upon the descendants of Edmund Dudley. The curse is said to have followed the family to America from across the Atlantic in England. Spooky season may be over, but that won’t stop us from talking about spooky places!
