    Children aren't the only people that throw temper tantrums. Otherwise, rational and sensible adults will sometimes lose control of their emotions. They act out in anger and frustration. They don't have control of their temper, and things can escalate quickly in a bad way.


    Speaking of temper, what does it mean? Check online dictionaries, and you're likely to come up with variations of the following definition.


    • Temper – noun – "a person's state of mind seen in terms of their being angry or calm."


    While your temper or emotional state of being can voice itself in several ways, we usually think of it negatively. We talk of people losing control of their temper or throwing a temper tantrum.


    This refers to someone usually funneling all their energy into a single emotion like anger. That can lead to regrettable behavior that makes the situation worse long before it has a chance to get better. Try meditating if you want fewer emotional outbursts and more control of your temper.

    Regular meditation practice can lower high blood pressure and improve circulation. It promotes feelings of well-being while relieving stress and lowering your heart rate. It's been used as a treatment for anxiety and can help establish emotional control and balance when needed.

    You can benefit from this powerful health booster any time you have just a few minutes. Just find a calm, quiet, distraction-free environment. Get into a comfortable sitting or lying position.


    Close your eyes and clear your thoughts. At first, it might be difficult to think about nothing. The more you work at this, the better you'll get. When some nagging thought tries to interrupt you, just push it away and deal with it later.


    Recognize your breathing. Don't force your breathing in any way. Just accept it and note the process. Then take a few long and deep breaths. Exhale naturally.


    Let the process happen. Notice the movement of your body as you breathe. Just exist in the current moment.


    While that might seem pretty simple, it's a powerful practice. Do it a couple of times a day if you can. The more you meditate, the more you'll find emotional control when you need it. This can keep you from losing your temper. It also delivers the substantial health benefits we mentioned earlier.

    The World Is Moved More by Spirituality than by Men

    There is no doubt that what is abiding, universal and impersonal has a greater appeal to man than what is fleeting, limited and personal. Spirituality, being such, has more appeal to humanity than men do. This is true in all aspects of human existence as it is in the knowledge man has gained. However, great a man may be, he has his limitations. He is in no way superior to the ordinary human beings as far as defects and shortcomings are concerned. However, spirituality, the children of his heart, have universal appeal. Therefore, spirituality influences man more truly and deeply than personalities. 

    On the other hand, there is no scope for any doubt that personalities appeal more to the common man than spirituality. The reason is that a man who is concrete is more palpable than spirituality, which is abstract. However, the likes and dislikes of a common person do not determine the standard of human conduct. A bit deeper insight into the matter will reveal that we worship personalities; we really pay respect to them because they embody some lofty ideas or ideals. 

    In the field of science, men who put forth spirituality were often ridiculed. They were even stoned to death but spirituality triumphed in the end. Copernicus was insulted and Galileo was tortured to death but their ideas like the torchbearers have been guiding the destiny of humanity through centuries. 

    In addition, greatness of a literature or a religion is determined not by the number of men writing it but by the amount of ideas, truths or spiritual words contained in it. Literary writers like Shakespeare, Tolstoy and Tagore have left an indelible imprint on the mind of humanity not because of their impressive personalities but because of the ideas and spiritualism contained in their books. On the other hand, a Sadhu in saffron robes cannot become a prophet. He can become Lord Buddha only if he has great ideas to convey to millions. 

    All these examples support the conviction that ideas or spirituality is greater than men are. Without ideas or spirituality, men are philistines (uncultured, commonplace people). In fact, he is the true benefactor of humanity who gives ideas to the world and enlightens the world with spirituality. The greatest contribution of the greatest men to the material welfare of the world will be short-lived only. The ideas and spirituality imbibed from the great men transform the very brain, mind, and soul of man. As a result, humanity must become better and nobler.

    What’s Causing Your Attitude To Be Negative (And How To Fix It)

    In this podcast, we’ll be discussing what may be causing a negative attitude. It may be something that is temporary or it may be a long-term issue. Either way, it’s important to identify what’s going on.

    With a negative attitude, there’s always a source. So it may be a good idea to identify that source and come up with a solution to turn a negative attitude into a positive one. With that said, we’ll go over the list here shortly.

    Before we do, we encourage you to take notes and use them for reference purposes. This will ensure that you know exactly what may be causing a negative attitude and what you can do to fix it. Let’s get started.

    First, we’ll talk about pessimistic thinking and negative self-talk. This is focusing on the negative aspect of a situation instead of the positive. You might be thinking in the vein of ‘this is never going to work’ or ‘I’m never going to be good enough’. 

    Negative thinking and self-talk is perhaps one of the worst things you can do. Especially when it comes to your mental health. So reframe all of this in favor of the positive.

    So reframe the positive thoughts as ‘this will work and I’ll find away’ or ‘I will be good enough’. These thoughts will also be voiced aloud as well. So if you think positively, you will speak positively.

    Next, let’s take a look at the lack of self-care. When we’re not taking the best care of ourselves, this will open the gates to negativity. We may be lacking in care mentally, physically, and emotionally.

    So it would be a good idea to take the best care of ourselves in these aspects. One way to do this is to get a good night’s sleep. If you consistently get at least 7 to 8 hours of sleep per night, you’ll wake up feeling well-rested and less stressed.

    Preparing for bed will play a role in how you get a good night’s sleep. So if you plan on going to bed at 10PM, there are some specific cut off times to follow. For example, we recommend that you power off your electronics at least an hour and a half to two hours prior to your bedtime.

    So in this example, you should power off electronics at about 8PM at the earliest, but no later than 9:30 PM. Another thing is to schedule a cut off time for caffeine. For a 10PM bedtime, it may be wise to consume caffeine no later than noon.
    Also, it may be a good idea to set the environment so it can help you fall asleep. It needs to be cool, dark, and relaxing. Another thing to be aware of is your stress levels.

    It’s important to keep stress levels low before sleep. Otherwise, you won’t be able to get any sleep at all because of all the negative thoughts bubbling in your head.

    Finally, it’s important to pull yourself away from negative environments. This includes not being around negative people or even going to places that exude a negative atmosphere. Instead, you want to surround yourself with positive people.

    What kind of people uplift you and make you feel good about yourself? What makes you feel good in general? Focus more on that instead of the negative things.

    A negative outlook can hurt any relationship. The problem is that the more comfortable we are with a person, the easier it is to vent about the day. While this seems harmless, it really isn't.

    The problem with venting to the one you love is your negativity tends to start putting them in a more negative frame of mind. So, while unburdening can seem like a good thing, too much time spent on what goes wrong can make it feel as though nothing ever goes right.

    The solution? While you don't need to quit talking about your day, you need to give equal, if not GREATER, time to the positive things in life. You really do want to share a more upbeat point of view, especially as it builds intimacy and makes your relationship feel fresh and fun all over again.

    How do you accomplish this? Try one of these quick tips:

    Start with a Compliment
    We all love hearing nice things about ourselves, but only if the other person means it. When you love someone, though, this shouldn't be hard. Why not practice telling the other person what you enjoy best about them?

    Forget the Critique
    Nitpicking details will drive anyone into a negative spiral of self-doubt. Before opening your mouth to offer criticism about what the other person is doing wrong, pause and ask if this is really important. You're going to find that most of these things don't matter in the grand scheme. Maybe this would be a better place to comment on what they're doing right instead?

    Talk About a Great Time You’ve Had in the Past
    Reminiscing is a wonderful way to revisit the perfect date, the time they made you laugh so hard you cried, and all those beautiful moments. You'd be amazed at how positive your mood is (and theirs) when you share your favorite memories of being together.

    Ask for What You Want
    Have you ever heard how doing something nice for someone else blesses the person who gives as much as the one who receives? Truly, when you love someone, being able to do something for them can feel amazing. With this in mind, share a secret desire, something you always wished the other person would do (Don’t forget to ask their secret wish so you can return the favor!).

    Create a Connection Point
    Shared interests bring us closer and create a positive charge every time you do things together. Why not try out a new hobby or take a class together? You might discover your new favorite activity.

    While there are dozens more ways to reconnect, remember the important thing is to start with a positive attitude yourself. Good moods are contagious, so approaching your partner in a good state of mind will help them respond similarly.

    One thing that many people are starting to recognize is the unfair structure of their lives. We say many instead of all because there are some people who live a life of purpose from the beginning. We want to address the fact that you went to school and got an education that you or your parents chose. 

    After that was done, you went into the workforce and may still be working at a job that will have you retiring in 10 or 15 years. Many people stop working at ages 65 or 67 and then pass the time until that final bell rings. Perhaps they may regret their choices and spend a lot of their retirement playing the “what if I had done this different,” game?
