I started a new job with the Archdiocese of Las Vegas! Woohoo! Neil and I talk about my new job, then the state of Youth Ministry and Confirmation and we make arguments for and against restored order 66 (lol, you’ll get it if you listen). This led us to talking about the importance of Youth Group as growth in discipleship. The conversation turns to formation for adults and young adult formation in the diocese and turning the emphasis to small group communities that lead to events rather than events to form small groups and how this might actually encourage continual growth. I’m drinking nothing but water while I teach this class on the Sacramental Economy. I take a quote from the Catechism (CCC 1131) and break it open showing the Old Testament prefigures, how Jesus perfect it, and how through the Holy Spirit all that belongs to Jesus is given to us for his glory (Jn 16:14). I close off with the reciprocal nature of the Sacraments, how we are not mercenaries working for blessing, but rather we approach the sacraments in the spirit of thanksgiving and in the obedience of Faith. It’s a nerd one, so if you like the nerdy Catholic stuff this is the episode for you. Neil and I will get together soon to record a new one for you!

So had a dramatic couple of weeks and Neil and I haven't gotten together to record a fresh episode, but we did record this intro to the Sacraments of Initiation that was intended for high school freshmen. In this 2 parter we first talk about our good friend and Bishop GLT and his opening address to the conference including the 5 goals he would like to accomplish during the Eucharistic revival.
