Mr. Big was Not Written by a Woman | Ep. 36

Is Hailey Bieber pregnant?  Is World War 3 coming to South Miami? Hopefully not. Don't listen to us, the moon was full, and we're lunatics.

Charlotte and Trey have officially begun dating and it's obnoxious, vapid, and materialistic. Carrie isn't buying any of it, but she's too busy eating noodles with Aidan in bed. That is of course until she runs into Big at a party on a boat. She's officially over him, which means he's all over her and shows up to her apartment drunk out of his mind and telling her he misses her. She tells him to go back to his wife. Crisis averted, for now.
Miranda and Steve contemplate having a baby, get a dog instead, and then break up.

The most important theme we touch on is the art of detachment- from emotional baggage of the past and especially for manifestations. We also talk about when a man's light goes on. Men want peace over anything, and they'll lose the love of their life in the process. Right person, wrong time and Big is a prime example as he's been married for 5 minutes and is already crawling back to the "one" he didn't want to admit was the one. Sorry the episode is delayed- health is wealth! Love you guys.

Our Enemies Don't Want Us to Record | Ep. 35

    WE'RE BACK BABY!

Our ops have been out to get us but we have transmuted the energy and prevailed! We missed you guys so much but mostly we missed the opportunity to talk to each other and stare at ourselves while we do so.
Season 3 Episode 7 is bringing the drama, or lack there of. Carrie is making a mess of her seemingly perfect relationship with Aiden, pushing him away because she's not used to peace. RELATABLE.
Charlotte is manifesting a marriage, not love. Read that again, it’s important for future reference. Anyway, she ends up dragging Carrie to the opera where she locks eyes with Big. Drama.
Speaking of drama we reminisce on the events that took place four years ago on Valentine's Day when we were both in Brooklyn and I got a call from my agent at Wilhelmina. I was in big trouble. We then get into how the universe will quite literally remove you from what is not meant for you, even if that means ripping you away. Trust the process enjoy the episode we love you!!!

Did Romance Die or Did We Kill It? | Ep. 34

Did Romance Die or Did We Kill It? | Ep. 34

We're high on life. 2024 is OURS. Yours too, but mostly ours.

Alexa sells the kindle so hard I'm surprised they are not sponsoring this episode. She also gives what Sara refers to as an extremely hot take re- the Kylie Selena drama. And to segue into this week's episode, did you guys know Timothée Cheverolet was THE chlamydia spreader of NYU.

So episode 6 of season 3 of Sex and the City is called, "Are We Sluts?" Miranda has chlamydia and needs to call everyone she's been with. Carrie is desperate to sleep with Aidan and he keeps rejecting her because it's only been a week. Charlotte is being verbally abused in bed. Samantha is rocking her scarlet letter all over her upper east side building to the point where she realizes she needs to move.

We dive back into the Aidan debate- Sara is smitten, Alexa stays repulsed which just exposes her toxic tendencies. Is he acting great? Sure. Are we sluts for wanting more? Maybe! Speaking of sluts, we go into a major tangent about how slutty our university was/is/will always be. We talk trendy STDs, creepy frat traditions, and the dangers of sheltering your children vs letting them drink underage.

We talk past lives and just when it was getting good we experienced some technical difficulties and got cut off! All in all a fabulous episode from your fabulous besties. Ta ta for now!

Our Obsession with Carrie's Obsession with Natasha | Ep. 31

Our Obsession with Carrie's Obsession with Natasha | Ep. 31

Natasha and Big got married, and it's on page six. The girls find out at brunch and Carrie spirals into a Natasha obsession that we could literally talk about for hours. She ends up summoning her and they run into each other, adding fuel to Carrie's manic fire, but also showing vulnerability in Natasha for the first time. Is it already clear that marrying Big might have not been best thing for her? She seems nervous, insecure, smaller than the cool, collected version of her we saw before. Carrie's giving desperate loser, but Natasha's true colors are starting to show and it looks like there's already trouble in paradise.

We get into the cleaning lady scandal Alexa is dealing with in Mexico, with a confrontation and a plot twist! We talk boundaries, oversharing, elementary school friends getting married, growing up in a naked house and of course- our obsession with Carrie's obsession with Natasha!!!!! Enjoy!

Sex and Politics, Can't Have One Without the Other

Sex and Politics, Can't Have One Without the Other

Why is sex so political? Why are politics so sexual? Let's face it they're intrinsically linked- often leaving ethics to the sidelines, keeping the general public generally dumb, and building a house of cards on a broken foundation.

Carrie's cosplaying as Jackie O, Samantha is trying to dispose of a SHORT king, Charlotte is going way too hard, and Miranda is slowly settling for Steve despite her intuition. Season 3 Episode 2 of Sex and the City is called Politically Erect. Alexa gets into some small town politics, chisme if you will. and needs some advice. Sara thinks she should text her, but she's so triggered she needs to calm down before taking action. Weigh in please! Anyway, Carrie is campaigning with her boyfriend, who wants her to pee on him. She won't do it, he dumps her because dating a sex columnist isn't a good look for a politician. Her next column is titled, "To Pee or Not to Pee."

Sara asks about exclusivity, Alexa doesn't think there's any other option. All in or nothing, always. But what if someone says I love you and you're not ready to receive it? Alexa tells a story of a time she is NOT proud of. Sara will do better because she is better.

    Love ya! See ya!

Can You Be Friends With Your Ex? | Ep. 28

Can You Be Friends With Your Ex? | Ep. 28

It's the Season 2 Finale and it's a BIG one. Carrie is peak insufferable. Miranda runs away from Steve. Samantha starts seeing Mr. TOO Big. Charlotte is confronting childhood trauma. Carrie and Miranda are the real stars of the episode, theme being- CAN YOU BE FRIENDS WITH AN EX?!?!!?!??! Should you? Would you? Could you?

Steve shows up at Miranda's door after she ran away from him like a nutcase. The real nutcase is Carrie though, she is on one. Her obsession with Big is causing her to be so rude to her friends, but hey, we've all been there? I don't know she takes it pretty far by calling him knowing he's happily moved on and insisting they have lunch. Safe to say lunch is an absolute DISASTER. Oh and Steve and Miranda fully end up hooking up again. We get into it. Alexa spills tea. Sara needs to know WHY.

Taking a break next week for the magazine launch, be back with season 3 on Thanksgiving. Love ya.

20 Something Girls are Just Fabulous Until Carrie Sees Natasha | Ep. 29

20 Something Girls are Just Fabulous Until Carrie Sees Natasha | Ep. 29

This is the episode we've been waiting for. Big is back. This time Carrie runs into him at a party in the Hamptons where he is in a corner with his new, perfect, 27 year old, Natasha. He said he meant to call, and that the Paris deal fell through. Paris was the only reason they broke up, so to see him back in New York with a younger, elegant, Ralph Lauren campaign naturally causes her to projectile vomit. Are our ex's obligated to let us know when we've moved on? We get into it. Season 17 of Sex and the City is all about being in your 20s- the good, the bad, the ugly. Charlotte poses as a 27 year old and gets crabs, Miranda can't deal, and even Samantha knows she's too old for this. Carrie was rather optimistic, that is until she saw them. We talk about the massive range of what it means to be in your 20s, mistakes, regrets, and how today's 20 years olds are taking way better care of ourselves than those in the 2000s.

Missing More Offensive Times | Ep. 28

Missing More Offensive Times | Ep. 28

We are in between eclipses people! Expect delays, secrets revealed, and what seem to be disappointments. Rejection is redirection and redirection is protection. We catch up on our own personal mishaps and Alexa shares a mystical connection she has made during this eclipse season. We're almost done with season 2 and episode 16 is called "Was it Good for You?" Charlotte forces the girls to take a tantric sex workshop with her after the doctor she's dating fell asleep on/in her. Carrie starts dating an addict, which leads to an interesting conversation about AA, addiction, and how we really all are recovering from something at any given point. Samantha is wise beyond her years with how she depicts sexual expression in the new millennium. Crazy to think this episode takes place in 2000. We navigate the day and age we are currently living in and compare it to the romanticized era of the early 2000s. This is a FABULOUS episode. Let us know what you think.

[00:01:41] "Like we all thought we died for a moment."

[00:05:08] Car troubles and bad luck.

    [00:08:21] Protection from unexpected events.

[00:11:21] "That's terrifying. A category 5 is nuts, you know?"

[00:12:40] Natural disasters and strange events.

    [00:15:41] Dark and light energies.

    [00:19:43] Mystic and writer synchronicities.

Season 2 Episode 14 of Sex and the City is about patterns and friends with benefits. Are we just doomed to repeat the same relationship patterns? Do we just date the same person over and over again? Carrie is trying to make her F buddy more by going on a sushi date and it's a disaster. Miranda is stuck in a pattern of dating jerks. I can't remember what happened to Samantha or Charlotte. It's been a week.

We get into types, red flags, patterns, shifting timelines, processing life, and more.

Sister Fights, Therapy, and Ultimatums | Ep. 25

The pod had a bit of a quarter life crisis right before our 25th episode and Sara and I got into a huge fight last week which is why there was no episode. We're sisters. It happens.

Season 2 Episode 13 of Sex and the City is called Games People Play and we get into the main two topics of the episode being 1. therapy 2. playing games in a relationship.

But first we have a 35 minute catch-up because we have barely spoken, so if you're not into that you can FF! We talk about my spooky ghost experiences in New York last weekend, Sara's apartment status, our personal experience with therapy, and how we feel about ultimatums in a relationship!

[00:48:33] "I think therapy is only for you but when you bring it into your conversations and your day-to-day life and you say well my therapist says this, oh well you're a narcissist, oh and you start diagnosing and you don't have the degree… shut the fuck up."

    [00:49:33] Therapy as a luxury.

[00:53:09] Healing journey with a stranger.

Old News, Old Kinks, Old Souls | Ep. 24

Old News, Old Kinks, Old Souls | Ep. 24

Hi. We missed you, we missed each other, we're back. Alexa's in Sara's room, Sara's in Isa's room. We're displaced, but thriving, kind of. Alexa reflects on the difficulty of reverting back to old patterns and behaviors when visiting her childhood home. A therapist once said that it takes approximately 72 hours to completely revert to the person you were when you lived under your parents' roof. We talk a little bit of Gainesville, a little bit of the Ashton and Mila Drama, a little bit of Church tings. Then we get into it- Carrie and Big break up. Again. He drops a huge piece of news on her saying he might be moving to Paris but if she comes that it better be for her and not for him. The fuck? They've been dating for years at this point. He can't commit. Or can he- and he just can't commit to HER? It's about to get soooooo good (bad). Ah.

    Enjoy.

Season 2 Episode 11 of Sex and the City is called Evolution and we are finally getting good storylines for all 4 girls. Miranda goes to the gyno and finds out she has a lazy ovary, which causes her to spiral and she ends up on a horrific date. Charlotte becomes friends with a 35 year old pastry chef that lives in Chelsea who she assumes is gay, but he turns out to be a gay straight man and they end up fully dating until an unfortunate mouse situation. Carrie starts to leave items in Mr. Big's bathroom which he is very resistant to. They are clearly still in the power struggle phase of their relationship, but she continues to take the absolute bare minimum as a win. Carrie Bradshaw is a Cheater, Alexa is Unwell | Episode 22

Carrie Bradshaw is a Cheater, Alexa is Unwell | Episode 22

This is our re-record on the episode we tried to put out earlier this week. Things happen. Well a lot happened in the 4 days between re-recording and the first 30 minutes recap just that. Sara is disappointed at how underwhelming the hurricane was, and remains displaced because her apartment is still not ready. Alexa has declared war on dog moms. Listen before you judge, and then feel free to judge away. Lock her up at this point. At least she's not as bad as Carrie acted in Episode 10 of Season 2 of Sex and the City. Carrie tells Big she loves him first, and when he goes over a week without even acknowledging it, she acts out at an Upper East side fancy shmanzy party she has no business attending. She's bitchy, embarrassing, and makes a BIG mistake. Miranda and Steve are so compatible but class differences get the best of them and this episode ends up in a sad breakup. Let's get into it!!!!!!! Pop off in the comments & recommend a therapist for Alexa and her big dog trauma(s) :)

    Time Stamps:

[00:01:40] "And not to point fingers, I'm not upset with him or anything, but this was, I feel like it was like 40% Marcelo's fault, 60% Mercury in retrograde."

    [00:04:58] Nervous breakdown Wednesday night.

    [00:08:46] Craving a spiritual community.

[00:09:46] "Yeah, I should never be allowed to go anywhere again."

[00:11:23] Liberating experience of phone breakage.

[00:15:51] Mini debrief on each moon sign.

[00:22:06] Cold war between human moms and dog moms.

[00:27:40] Dogs in the spiritual community.

[00:28:41] "And I'm so I spend the entire meditation and fight or flight like, and then I'm pissed because I could be in bed."

    [00:33:30] Losing my fucking mind.

[00:35:40] "Let's put everything in front of her face that she wants and then give her an inconvenience that's gonna throw her over the f***ing edge and see how she reacts."

    [00:37:18] Dogs and meditation etiquette.

[00:41:01] Let's get into Season 2 Episode 10 of Sex and the City

[00:42:39] "You guys are pretending like we live in a classless society and we don't."

    [00:43:11] Carrie's ugly duck clutch.

Duendes, Happily Ever After, and Other Myths | Ep. 20

Duendes, Happily Ever After, and Other Myths | Ep. 20

We're headed to Napa in 24 hours so our rooms are a mess and so are we. The theme of this week has to do with myths. Alexa recounts her spooky story telling of the week featuring La Llorona, duendes, and other Mexican tales. Sara LOVES duendes. Duende party coming soon. No seriously the first 20 minutes is pretty much about duendes and then we get into the episode.

Season 2 Episode 8 of Sex and the City is called The Man, the Myth, the Viagra. Miranda goes on a horrible date with a man who told her he was 3 years divorced when in reality he was at the very beginning phase of separation, still fully married. This sends Miranda on a fully blown I hate men campaign, which is terrible timing because this is the episode she meets Steve in, and fully treats him like garbage. Carrie is still making excuses for Mr. Big even though Charlotte swears their relationship has magically changed over night. Samantha starts dating a 72 year old millionaire. Is there such thing has happily ever after? What is an appropriate age ceiling for dating? Join us while we get into what it really takes to make a relationship work and last, whether or not a relationship can be repaired after it breaks, and don't forget the duendes.

    Time Stamps:

    [00:02:45] Getting nails done efficiently.

    [00:05:37] La Llorona ghost apparition.

[00:09:41] Three o'clock in the morning.

[00:22:01] - "He brought her good luck and parties and money."

[00:23:30] Duendes and the Occult. "Like I want to hear the music turn on and I want him to do some crazy shit."

[00:24:35] Introducing her as his girlfriend.

[00:29:41] Gray area in dating after separation.

[00:30:11] "I think she says, am I that naive or am I that needy that like, I just believe anything a guy says and I like, if they say they like me, I think they like me."

[00:33:08] The challenges of marriage. "I think vows are a beautiful thing to serve as a reminder of that that's what you need to act because in good times and in sickness and in health, it's really easy to say that. Exposing Weddings, Lust at First Sight, and Lion's Gate | Ep. 19

Exposing Weddings, Lust at First Sight, and Lion's Gate | Ep. 19

Alexa details her trip to hell, Sara details her vision for her dream wedding, and they both crack up remembering their 7th grade teacher who made them do a really creepy prayer everyday before math class. Do we believe in love at first sight? Yes. Do we believe in lust at first sight? YES. Have we experienced both? Absolutely. This episode is pretty much ALL about weddings. Do you have to say yes when someone asks you to be a part of their wedding? When do the financial implications of being involved in a wedding become too much? When is Alexa going to get married? Why does Sara want to wear the same outfit we literally used for the cover art of the podcast?

All this wedding talk comes up because in Episode 7 of Season 2 of Sex and the City, Miranda has a male houseguest who she planned on hooking up with, but he ends up MARRYING her interior designer in a matter of weeks. Miranda is feeling B-list, Charlotte becomes a bridesmaid (wtf), and Carrie is asked to recite a poem at the ceremony. Mr. Big insists on going to see said poem, but ends up walking out and taking a phone call in the middle of it.
