Organ Sonata VI by Felix Mendelssohn (1809-1847) is based on “Vater unser im Himmelreich,” a German chorale by Martin Luther based on “The Lord’s Prayer.” Mendelssohn was greatly influenced by Bach’s writing.

Felix Mendelssohn (1809-1847) was greatly influenced by J.S. Bach. He lived in Leipzig, where Bach had worked, and helped to revive interest in Bach's music.

J.S. Bach was influenced by composers with different musical styles. He was so impressed with the French classical music of Nicolas de Grigny, that he copied all his organ works, which were based on hymns.

Georg Böhm (1661-1733) was organist in Lüneburg, where J.S. Bach studied with him. J.S. Bach was influenced by Böhm's style of writing.

Johann Christoph Bach (1642-1703) was a prominent German Baroque composer, and was the cousin of J.S. Bach.

Johann Michael Bach (1648-1694) was a German Baroque composer, and organist in Gehren, Germany. He was the great-uncle of J.S. Bach. His daughter, Maria Barbara, married J.S. Bach in 1707.

Johann G. Walther was the city organist in Weimar, and wrote many arrangements of Bach Chorales. He was J.S. Bach's cousin.

Johann Pachelbel (1653-1706) was a composer in Germany who influenced J.S. Bach through his student, Johann Christoph Bach. Johann Christoph Bach was the older brother and teacher of J.S. Bach.

Jean-Adam Guilain (c. 1680 – after 1739) was active in France. J.S. Bach was very influenced by the works of the French composers, and Bach was acquainted with Guilain's teacher in France.

Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750) came from a family of musicians. This piece was used in his book (The Little Organ Book) with many organ pieces for church.
