For years, the rivalry between the Belvidere Bucs and the Boylan Titans has been THE game of the regular season. Now after a 3-game win streak, the Bucs host Boylan in a true must-win situation. It all comes down to this. If Belvidere wins, they earn a playoff bid. Lose - and the regular season is over.

You've seen the slogan "Once a Buc" on t-shirts. But what does it mean? For Homecoming 2014, BelvidereFootball.com thought we'd explore what that means. We interviewed Andrew Walters. Andrew is a Belvidere grad (2002), and was a three-sport athlete: football, where he earned an all-state honorable mention as a Defensive End, wrestling, and baseball. After college, he returned to BHS - as a teacher and a baseball coach. He was a fierce and talented competitor, and passionate about teaching to his students. Listen to his story and get inspired.

"Trainer!" To the fan or coach, it may send a chill if they hear that phrase during a game or practice. But that's when Belvidere's trainer-in-residence, Erik Smith, answers the call of duty.

Belvidere Bucs blanked the Jefferson J-Hawks 41-0 last week in Game 2 of the NIC-10 season, with much credit to the defense. Defensive linemen Austin Ziriaxe and Ron Paris join us on the podcast. Austin also wrestles and Ron plays wide receiver and during the winter plays basketball. Both are fans of the Chicago Bears.

Phil Baker was part of the Belvidere Bucs' championship teams in the 1990s, and now is in his second year of the squad of coaches under the helm of Head Coach Chuck Leonard. Belvidere Bucs varsity offensive line coach Phil Baker talks with Doug Shiloh from Belviderefootball.com. September 16, 2013. Baker was a Buc, a 1990s state champion, plus went on to play at RVC and for the Roscoe Rush semi-pro football team where he played for six years and eventually became a Hall of Fame member. He is a Special Ed teacher at BHS.

We catch up with Coach Brian Kelly, sophomore team coach, for the 2013 Belvidere Bucs. The squad beat the Jefferson J-Hawks in Week 2.

Truly one of "the good guys", and a mainstay of Belvidere football for over 30 years, enjoy this 15 minute talk with former Belvidere Bucs Head Coach Mike Hearn. Hearn was the head coach for 10 years, plus was an assistant for the 1993 and 1994 state championship teams. Recently, Coach Hearn was voted into the Illinois Coaches Hall of Fame. Our featured photo shows Hearn's ring for his Hall of Fame honor. Hearn was also an educator for over 30 years. He is a staunch Chicago Bears fan and he gives his impression of the 2013 NFL season.
