how to be your authentic self + live a life that serves you

how to be your authentic self + live a life that serves you

In this episode, we chat about how to be your most authentic self and how to live a life that serves you. Living authentically relies on knowing who you are, owning who you are and living according to your values. It can be pretty distressing when these things are out of sorts (been there and still there) which is why we walk through how to define your core values and ways to put them in practice—from being selective with who you surround yourself with to setting boundaries.

This episode is really an exercise in getting to know yourself—another mile marker on the lifelong journey of becoming. I hope it leaves you feeling more grounded and assured in who you are.

defining your circles + figuring out who your close friends are

defining your circles + figuring out who your close friends are

This episode is all about friendship and how to figure out who your people are. In a culture heavily focused on romantic relationships, it’s easy to overlook this area of our lives. But friendship is important. It also takes intentional work, which is why we start our conversation by unpacking why that is. We then walk through how to define your circles and assess your current relationships as a way to center your energy on those that are in it for the long run. With more clarity, it’s natural to outgrow friendships that no longer serve you, so we chat about that as well.

The advice in this episode is based on my own experience after investing a bulk of my energy into this area of my life over the past few months. It helped me immensely, and I hope at least one or two nuggets can resonate with you, too.

i’m not doing enough (and other concerns)

Do you feel like you’re behind in life or not doing enough? In this episode, we get straight to the point and address concerns that many of us have in our 20s related to careers, relationships and more. We talk about how difficult it is to avoid comparison, the equally unsettling and liberating experience of not having a life plan and what it means to find balance (which, by the way, is an illusion).

This episode is different from others, as Sam takes on a big sister tone to assure you that your feelings are valid and you are enough.

23 lessons learned in 23 years

23 lessons learned in 23 years

In this episode, we celebrate my 23rd birthday with 23 lessons I learned in the past year.

Now, a lot can happen in a year. We are constantly evolving based on the lessons we extract from both our greatest milestones and the Oops! moments that fall in between. The lessons in this episode cover a range of topics—from career pivots and financial woes to friendships, heartbreak and simply how we approach our lives not just in our 20s but in the long run.

It’s my hope that the nuggets of information I share in this episode help inform the person YOU are becoming as we continue to go on this journey together!

my yoga teacher training experience: expectations + lessons learned

my yoga teacher training experience: expectations + lessons learned

Yoga is way more than a physical practice. In this episode, I share what it was like to complete my 200-hour yoga teacher training with Y7 Studio—from the expectations I had going in and logistics of the course, to what it was actually like. We walk through the reasons why I signed up in the first place, how my experience as a spin instructor informs my practice and the countless possibilities of what can come next. *Spoiler* It turns out many people go through YTT with no intention of teaching (say what?) and now I understand why: Its teachings trickle into every aspect of our lives.

Now, don’t worry—we don’t get super “woo-woo” here. But needless to say, there’s a lot I learned over the past eight weeks that I’m excited to share!

If you’re interested in learning more about the program I chose, I couldn’t recommend Y7 enough!

    get unstuck with me

    get unstuck with me

Your “flop era” is officially over. It’s time to return to you.

Getting unstuck is really about taking agency of your life. In this episode, we get unstuck together by first understanding why we feel stuck and how to let go by leaning in (because the only way out of a funk is through). I share the four tools I’m using along my own journey to cultivate a sense of revival, as well as how they show up in our everyday lives—from spring cleaning and outgrowing friendships to the power of novelty and accountability. Read to quit passively going through the motions instead of being an active participant in your life? Same. So let’s get unstuck together.

living home post grad: pros + cons and how to make the most of it

Moving back home after college goes against the narrative we’re fed about life in our 20s, but it’s more common than you think. It might also be the gift you didn’t know you needed—I know it was for me.

In this episode, we talk all about what it’s like to live with your parents in your 20s. From saving money and adult child syndrome, we get deep on topics like loneliness, feeling stuck and emotional healing. At the core of this episode is a lesson for everyone on how to stay in your own lane. Because even when things don't turn out like you expected them to, there’s a way to embrace it.

body image: how to overcome and redefine your personal worth

body image: how to overcome and redefine your personal worth

We give our bodies way too much power over our personal worth. In this episode, we chat about the tendencies, fears and beliefs we have around body image—and how to change them. This conversation is intentionally juicy and raw—from toxic behaviors around food and exercise to a word from the president of the itty bitty committee (yours truly), we create space for these thoughts.

Why? To find acceptance and heal our relationship with a place that we can always call home.

a conversation on how to find love in your 20s

The hard truth: you can’t expect to find a partner until you learn how to cultivate love in other areas of your life—including yourself. In this episode, we get intimate and talk about how to manifest love in your 20s. Because underneath the hard truth is a comforting reality: you are absolutely capable of attracting the love you’ve been longing for. It just might look different than you thought it would…

feeling lonely + tips for becoming your own best friend

Is sad girl winter hitting anyone else extra hard this year? In this episode, we talk about loneliness and how feeling lonely can shift everything out of balance—especially our sense of self-worth. But there’s a difference between feeling lonely and being alone. Only by learning how to enjoy the latter can we receive the love and connection we’re looking for. Because there’s only one thing you have for a lifetime: You.

I’m right there with you going through these feelings so it’s my hope that this episode brings words to feelings that are otherwise really hard to describe and rationalize. <3

I went to Paris alone after a breakup and here’s how it went

If you’re going to be sad, you might as well be sad in Paris…or something like that.

Breakups are hard. Transitions are hard. Instead of giving ourselves time to process it all, we flee. But sometimes walking away is just what we need to realize that what we’re looking for has been there the whole time. In this episode, I share the uncomfortable story behind my solo trip to Paris and what I learned in the aftermath.

How to Actually Make the Most of Your 20s

How to Actually Make the Most of Your 20s

Spoiler: it’s not by doing the most.

There’s a lot of pressure to make the most of this “defining decade.” It can quickly make us wonder and stress over the question: Am I missing out on my formative years?

Let out a sigh of relief because in this episode, we have a conversation about how to actually make the most of your 20s by staying in your lane and leaving space for what’s to come. Instead of chasing what these years should look like, it’s time to start living in a way that makes sense for each of us in whatever era we’re in right here, right now.

Reflecting on 2022: New Year’s Rituals, Lessons Learned and Looking Ahead

Reflecting on 2022: New Year’s Rituals, Lessons Learned and Looking Ahead

    A lot can change in a year…

2022 was a year of letting go. In this episode, I recount the experiences that made this year transformative, as well as the messiest “Oops” moments that inspired the very meaning behind this podcast. Then, we walk through the three New Year’s rituals I practice to manifest a fulfilling year—an alternative to resolutions that makes personal growth a habit as much as a state of being. I can't wait to see what the next year has in store for us!

    Bring it on, 2023.
