Steven and Casey chat with Dr. Jim Vaught, Headmaster Emeritus of Providence Christian Academy in Lilburn, GA.

Jim has been ambushed by HUSBANDRY 44.  Not only has he more closely aligned himself as a husband with God's design, but his relationship with Christ has become more initmate.

Jim went through the Train the Trainer experience to facillitate these workshops, and then went through the 6-week workshop as a participant.  He has co-facilitated 8 of the workshops.

He says, "I enjoy leading these sessions, but I do it selfishly.  I need to have this Truth in front of me at all times."

What if a person really dedicates himself/herself to the study of the Bible and becomes a self proclaimed expert in the word?

What if that same person does not really know how to be loved by God?  Might it be a little hard to express true love to others?  Might it be very hard to share knowledge of the word from a place of love?

Steven and Casey think out loud about just that.

I recently had a revelation that the war that all believers in Christ have moment by moment in our minds between flesh and Spirit boil down to a choice.  When we operate out of our own self suffiency, we are choosing our own Soul, our own mind, will, or emotions.  When we choose to operate out of the Spirit, we are choosing the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead. So, what will you choose in your next moment?

a.  Your Mind

b.  Your Will

c.  Your Emotions

d.  The Holy Spirit

After 91 years of a life well lived, Florida State University Head Football Coach Bobby Bowden, got promoted.  This is a man, who knew why he was born and what God called him to do very early on.  He knew who he was in Christ, and that informed everything he did and said.  Casey is an FSU graduate and Bobby is one of his heroes.  Listen as Steven and Casey discuss Bobby's life and a few things that were said at his funeral.

We have been gone, now we are back.  Life gets in the way sometimes, and it did.  Steven and Casey pick up where they left off in April of 2021.  Now here in August of 2021, we hopefully get back into the rhythm of 2 Episodes/month.  Lord knows, there sure is plenty to discuss about us being  believing men in Christ in this crazy sin-soaked world.  Join us as we RESET!

2020 left many of us with a totally different reality going into 2021.  Some realities are actually better, paired down, and more efficient.  Some are much worse having to be totally re-imagined.  Re-building may required.  What does that mean?

As men we constantly fight truth, most of the time, we are not even aware we're doing it.  Sometimes, it's because we either don't know the truth or we forget how God has described what happens when we surrender to Him.  As a husband, I struggle the most with letting go and letting God.  Work is a close second to this.  Listen as Steven and Casey talk with Casey's wife of 36 years, Christi.  She is the customer of Casey's husbandry!

Steven and Casey wrestle with the command of Discipleship that Jesus left us with.  It appears that we might be able get a "D" in Discipleship if God grades on the curve.  Why?  Did He make it so complicated that we are incapable of carrying out His wishes?  Maybe it has more to do with not really reading and accepting what He said to do...and receiving His help doing it.

This episode was recorded in January of 2021 prior to the Biden inauguration and post January 6th.  Turbulent times for our nation at best.  So, where is the reset? Where is true North?  Steven bumped into a passage from the book of James that could not be more perfect.  Go figure.  Give this one a serious listen.

Have you been offended lately?  In the time that we live in right now, there is much around us that you might find offensive.  So, if so, what do you do with that?  Do you throw up on the thing and/or person from whom the offense originates?  Do you stew on it until your emotions spill out in subtle un-detected ways?

We salute all the educators out there, who have not only had to brave the pandemic, but reinvent themselves with a lot of distance learning.  Andy Zawacki, Head of School at Arborbrook Christian Academy in Charlotte NC talks with Steven and Casey about their unique approach to education with required greater involvement from parents.  Andy also speaks to the challenges and dangers of all that the pandemic has brought to the world of school.  Give a listen to this great leader!

How did you come to be a husband?  What intense training course did you go through?  How many husbands did you observe doing it well?  If you are like me, "husbandry" was not something I was prepared for.  I have learned by trial and error.  My training has been more like playing jazz with no sheet music.  Many men like me then wise up and actually pull out our Bibles and look for instruction.  At first glance, one might come to the conclusion that a husband should assume the position of doormat. Not so!   Listen as Steven and Casey talk about the importance of Spirit-led selflessness in the honor of being husbands. 

Listen in as Steven and Casey go one more round on Politics, maybe wading a little deeper into how this ticking time bomb can be discussed without scorching the earth.  Good reasoning only comes from what it true and truth itself.  But isn't that the rub nowadays...in a time where the simple truth of what's happening is so twisty to determine?
