Radio Interview: Yoga and Christianity - Are They Compatible?

Statistics, Definitions, and Dangers of Yoga!

    • Interview: Featuring Bill Feltner of Pilgrim Radio (Carson City, Nevada) and Chris Lawson of Spiritual Research Network.
    • Topics: 1) Western culture embraces yoga, 2) What yoga is - by definition and in context, 3) Yoga and the occult, 4) Kundalini energy and the psychic worldview versus Christianity, Jesus Christ and the Bible, 5) The dangers of yoga (psycho-spiritual and psycho-physical "emergencies"), 6) So-called 'Christian Yoga' ministries, 7) The conflict between Yoga, Christian Yoga, and the biblical Gospel.

This radio interview covers numerous topics pertaining to the exponential growth of Yoga teachings and practices in the West, including updated Yoga Journal statistics, definitions and the true aim and purpose of Yoga, the philosophy, dangers, and anti-Christian beliefs of Yoga, alleged Christian Yoga ministries, and much more!

This audio is not for the squeamish. It reveals the hard facts and explains the hostile opposition to humans that Yoga employs in a most seductive way; for even, the Yoga postures (asanas) and breathing techniques (pranayama) are worshipful methods/postures to Hindu deities, designed specifically to open humans up to the spirit world, occult influence, and trance/possession states.

    This audio mentions the following:

    - Crafty teachings embraced in Christian churches.
    - The danger of “channeled” literature such as God Calling (Edited by A.J. Russell)
    - Sarah’s Young claims she was inspired by God Calling to write her “Christian” devotional, Jesus Calling.
    - Destructive heresies, “deceptive words,” and the exploitation of Christians in the Christian Marketplace.
    - Extensive listing of “channeled” entities, including various demon spirits named and masquerading as numerous biblical personalities, including “Jesus.”
    - Direct quotes from Sarah Young’s Q&A Interview’ from CBN, and other mentions from Christianity Today.
    - Damage control for Sarah Young’s “False Christ” implemented by the publisher of Jesus Calling.
    - Direct quotes from The Encyclopedia of New Age Beliefs and The Donning International [New Age/Occult] Encyclopedic Psychic Dictionary - explaining “literary mediumship,” “listening” prayer, and “clairaudience” - that are virtually identical to Sarah Young’s alleged contemplative “listening prayer.”
    - There are only three options as to what Jesus Calling really is (1) personal human delusion, (2) total deception writing, or (3) spiritistic communication under the guise of “Jesus Calling.”
    - Massive documentation refuting Jesus Calling on the SRN webpage titled ‘Sarah Young’s Jesus Calling: Another New Age Jesus’.
    - Article by Lighthouse Trails Editors titled, ‘About That Jesus Calling - Ten Things You Might Not Know’.
    - Mention of numerous New Age metaphysical terms (buzz-words) found in Jesus Calling, given by Sarah Young’s “Jesus,” to Sarah Young.
    - Will Sarah Young and her publisher who is doing damage control confess and repent from what they have done - in plain sight?

    Scriptures in order of mention: 2 Peter 1:12 - 2:3; Jude 1-4, 24-25; 2 Corinthians 11:1-4, 12-15; Matthew 7:15-23; Psalm 46; Genesis 3:1-5; 1 Timothy 4:1-2; 1 John 3:24 - 4:6; Matthew 24:1-3, 11, 23; Matthew 7:1-5, 15-23

    Part 11

    • The spirit of truth, and the spirit of error

1 John 3:24-4:5“And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us. Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.”

    • Many undiscerning people are going to gobble up Sarah Young’s book because they are not discerning and cannot decipher between New Age spirituality that is wrapped in Christian terminology, versus biblical theology that is straight from the text of the Bible.
    • If a New Age “Jesus” is coming through the book Jesus Calling, and it is contradicting New Testament theology, the message of the Epistles, and the message of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, then you’ve got a counterfeit Jesus—you’ve got a false Jesus—and the Jesus of Jesus Calling is not Jesus of Nazareth! That’s it—that’s just the bottom line!
    • There is so much material refuting this book and yet people still don’t want to hear the truth.
    • Our ministry (Spiritual Research Network) has lost quite a bit of support simply because we’ve printed literature, we’ve got our web pages up, saying “Look, this is what’s going on!” And people get mad. Well, they get mad, they can have their Jesus Calling, they can have the counterfeit "Jesus" of Jesus Calling and they can get that nice fluffy spiritual buzz—they can laugh at the future, they can get the New Age buzzwords, the New Age philosophy, you know the teachings that “God is in everything” (pantheism) and the plants and the rocks and the trees and the cows and the grass and the dung, you know, that’s, that’s, that’s Hinduism—God is in all things! That’s not biblical Christianity—okay—you gotta make a decision!
    • If you do end up passing the literature on to expose Jesus Calling, be kind to them, be nice to them, our goal here is not to slander Sarah Young, it’s just to say, "Hey look—if Sarah Young’s not telling the truth—she’s deceived!"
    • And if she’s deceived, well there’s been enough literature put out there now, for her to say, “Gosh you know what—I was wrong! Man, I was deceived—I’m sorry!” For her to come full-circle, and repent, and say “You know what? Man, I was deceived by a counterfeit Jesus! Whoaaaa—how incredible is this deception that’s affecting the church in the last days!”
    • Well, that’s what she should do! But is she? No, she’s not! What’s the date today? It’s March 18, 2015. What’s the publisher done? The publisher has changed things up—the publisher’s done damage control.

View or purchase this BOOKLET TRACT: Changing “Jesus Calling”—Damage Control for a False Christ by Warren B. Smith https://www.lighthousetrailsresearch.com/blog/?p=16349

    • Sarah Young should come out and say, “You know what, you know what, we’re not, we’re not, we’re not about that, you know, we're not gonna change things up and deceive people!” Has she done that? No! Is she coming full-circle and saying “You know what—I got the wrong Jesus!” No, she’s not!
    • So, that leaves it up to us as Christians—who read our Bibles, who test the spirits, who warn of deception, who preach the true Gospel, to say, “You know what? I don’t think Sarah Young should be listened to! In fact, I think you should take that book and get rid of it. And don’t give it to somebody, because it’s gonna lead them down a false road to a counterfeit Christ!
    • Jesus said, “[M]any shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.” The “Jesus” of Jesus Calling is a counterfeit christ—a counterfeit Jesus.

Matthew 24:3-5 — And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many."

Matthew 24:11-13 — And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved."

Matthew 24:23-26 — Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Behold, I have told you before. Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not."

    • Satan wants to use false teachers and false prophets to deceive the church today—people who are true Christians!
    • Many Christians think that we cannot be deceived—as Christians!
    • Remember what Peter said, Lord, though all forsake you, I won’t! And Peter forsook Jesus, and so did the disciples, before Jesus was crucified.

Matthew 26:33-35 — Peter answered and said unto him, Though all men shall be offended because of thee, yet will I never be offended. Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this night, before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. Peter said unto him, Though I should die with thee, yet will I not deny thee. Likewise also said all the disciples."

    • Self-deception! We can all fall into self-deception!
    • What about “judging”? We don’t want to judge people’s hearts; we don’t want to judge Sarah Young’s heart. It seems like she has good intentions.

Mathew 7:1-5 — Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye."

    • Beware of false prophets!
    • Jesus said, “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven.”

Matthew 7:15-23 — Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."

    Conclusion

    • Would to God that Sarah Young would repent, that Sarah Young would go full-circle and apologize, and say “You know what, I’ve misled people. I’ve been deceived by a false counterfeit Jesus—a spirit masquerading as Jesus, who has given false teaching and New Age principles and concepts through this alleged listening prayer, meditative, passive listening messages”—that she’s allegedly received from Jesus.
    • That’s our desire today is to see her repent and to turn around and say, “I’m sorry, I was wrong!” And, to see the publisher (Thomas Nelson Publishers) come out and acknowledge that they have done damage control—simply because they were exposed for the unscriptural content that they have been publishing.
    • Only through the biblical Jesus of Nazareth could this happen—it would be a miracle!

If you have been deceived by Jesus Calling, know that it’s not the biblical Jesus of Nazareth who has deceived you!

    Part 10

    • On pages 116-117 of Warren B. Smith’s book “Another Jesus” Calling, Smith explains how New Age teachings and buzz words are being used in the book Jesus Calling. He writes,

Not that long ago, New Age terms like ultimate reality, universal presence, Love-Light, Light-bearer, supernatural plane, living channel, divine alchemy, co-create, paradigm shift, and true self were sure indicators of someone's New Age/ metaphysical orientation. All these terms can now be found in books such as Jesus Calling and are rapidly becoming part of the everyday language of the church. In Sarah Young's 2012 book Jesus Today, her ‘Jesus’ refers to his “infinite intelligence.” A quick search on the Internet for the term leads to multitudinous New Age/New Thoughts websites. In New Age language, infinite intelligence refers to God “in” everyone and everything. In fact, New Age channeler Esther Hicks calls her spirit guide Abraham ‘Infinite Intelligence.’

As the church merges more and more with the spiritual language of the New Age, and also excepts New Age practices and disciplines into the church, then compromised spiritual beliefs are the result. Faith then becomes watered down, blending easily with a world where New Age beliefs are already mainstream. Ultimately, everything has to be unified for a New World Religion and a New World Order to take effect. (Warren B. Smith, "Another Jesus" Calling - How False Christs Are Entering The Church Through Contemplative Prayer (Eureka, MO: Lighthouse Trails Publishing), 3rd printing, August 2014), p. 116-117.

    • New Age buzzwords in Jesus Calling and these are the concepts that Sarah Young has written down, saying that this “Jesus” has communicated to her.
    • The crossover here is simply this, there is an entity that is interfacing with Sarah Young’s mind, and based on what she’s written and the exposes and the vast amount of literature now exposing her material, it’s very clear that it is not the Jesus Christ of Nazareth as we find in Scripture. I personally believe it’s a deceiving spirit—I don’t know how much clearer things can be!
    • Sarah Young Still Hears Jesus Calling
      Melissa Steffan | Christianity Today
October 1, 2013, Vol. 57, No. 8, Pg 38, "Sarah Young Still Hears Jesus Calling"

“In some senses, that's just the way she likes it. Away from the celebrity status that a best-selling book could afford, Minchew says, Young spends her time doing
what she loves: praying and listening. After all these years, she still hears Jesus calling.”

“Yet not everyone is so enthusiastic that Jesus Calling is reinvigorating interest in the theology behind Young's writings—and, by extension, in Young herself. Young bases her works on listening prayer, a theological practice in which a person aims to hear messages directly from God. Critical readers want to know: Does Young really think Jesus is speaking directly to her? Is he?” [Emphasis in original]

“That love manifests itself in Young's practice of journaling, through which she has collected—and later published—messages from God for decades. Young became a Christian as an adult after studying at Francis Schaeffer's L'Abri in Switzerland, where she says she first experienced the presence of ‘Sweet Jesus.’”

      • 7. Did you know that Sarah Young’s “Jesus” revises the night that Jesus Christ was born and calls it a “dark night” in a “filthy stable” in “appalling conditions” even though the Bible says the shepherds rejoiced in all that they had seen that night? 2

    Part 8

    • These New Age psychic definitions speak volumes in light of what Sarah Young claims she is hearing, regarding her interactions and “dialoguing with God”; especially since there are New Age/occult buzzwords and concepts sprinkled all throughout Sarah Young’s Jesus Calling devotional. (See, "Another Jesus" Calling - EXPANDED 2ND EDITION by Warren B. Smith.)
    • Is this a lying spirit somehow communicating with Sarah Young, giving her truths from the Bible mixed with partial truths that are actually lies?
    • Is this not just like Eve listening to Lucifer (Satan) in the Garden of Eden, as Lucifer lied to Eve by telling her half-truths.
      • “And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods [like god], knowing good and evil…And the Lord God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled [deceived] me, and I did eat.” (Genesis 3:4-5, 13)
    • What Sarah Young is doing sounds exactly like what Paul the Apostle warned about nearly 2000 years ago!
      • “Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils [demons].” (1 Timothy 4:1)
    • Caveat emptor - Let the buyer beware!
    • Sarah Young’s “listening prayer” is virtually identical to the occult—listening prayer, scribing, contemplative prayer, etc.

Beltzer, The Donning International Encyclopedic Psychic Dictionary, Whitford Press, 1986, p. 356.)
    • Sarah Young’s “listening prayer” is also virtually identical to occult clairaudience (clear hearing).
      • CLAIRAUDIENCE - (French, “clear audio”) to perceive sounds or words when no person present is speaking or no article is causing the disturbance; sounds that are inaudible to the normal hearing range appear to come from “within the head” or from “out in the atmosphere,” perceived singly” (June G. Beltzer, The Donning International Encyclopedic Psychic Dictionary, Whitford Press, 1986, pp. 112-113.)

      • LITERARY MEDIUM - one who is capable of allowing an ETHERIC WORLD INTELLIGENCE to intervene in some form of psychic skill, and the resulting communications are teachings of WISDOM; information is correct, and has an elegant style, displaying a very high intelligence. [cf. MEDIUMSHIP, INNER BAND, CONTROL, PSYCHIC DEVELOPMENT CIRCLE]” (June G. Beltzer, The Donning International Encyclopedic Psychic Dictionary, Whitford Press, 1986, p. 357.)

      • 1. Did you know that Sarah Young says she had been inspired by the “Jesus” of a book called God Calling?
      • 2. Did you know that Christian publisher Harvest House’s book The Encyclopedia of New Age Beliefs says that God Calling is an example of a channeled New Age book “replete with denials of biblical teaching”?1
      • 3. Did you know that the “Jesus” of God Calling teaches that God is “in” everyone?
      • 4. Did you know that the “Jesus” of Jesus Calling contradicts the Jesus of the Bible?
      • 5. Did you know that the “Jesus” of Jesus Calling rejects the Jesus of the Bible’s warnings about the future and tells us to “laugh” at the future?
      • 6. Did you know that the “Jesus” of Jesus Calling frequently flatters his followers, which contrasts the way Jesus Christ spoke to people?
      • 7. Did you know that Sarah Young’s “Jesus” revises the night that Jesus Christ was born and calls it a “dark night” in a “filthy stable” in “appalling conditions” even though the Bible says the shepherds rejoiced in all that they had seen that night? 2
      • 8. Did you know that the “Jesus” of Jesus Calling revises the accounts of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph of the Bible?
      • 9. Did you know that the “Jesus” of Jesus Calling encourages his followers to practice contemplative “listening” prayer and to have a “buffer zone of silence” with no warning about seducing spirits?3
      • 10. Did you know that the “Jesus” of Jesus Calling emphasizes New Age terms and concepts throughout the book?
    • "The 10 points above have been taken from Warren B. Smith’s book, “Another Jesus” Calling. This book provides valuable information that can help you warn your family and friends how the “Jesus” of Jesus Calling contradicts the biblical Jesus.

These quotes are then compared to definitions from The Donning International Encyclopedic Psychic Dictionary (June G. Bletzer, Ph.D.).

    Part 7

    • Quote from Sarah Young about how she listens to God and says, “As I receive it [messages] from Him [Jesus Christ].”
    • Sarah Young tells CBN.com that she hears from “Jesus” and she writes down messages from Jesus!
    • It’s black and white, it’s right there in print—this is what Sarah Young claims to be doing—hearing from God.
    • We have to examine what Sarah Young is allegedly receiving from her “Jesus” and writing down in her book!
    • What exact kinds of teachings is Sarah Young “receiving”—that she claims are from Jesus.
    • CBN asks Sarah Young, “Share a memorable experience when you began listening to God—with pen in hand.”
    • Sarah Young responds with, “I began my listening—writing adventure while living in Melbourne, Australia…I was comforted by messages gleaned from listening to God…To my delight I was able to ‘listen’ to Jesus in the hospital as readily as in my home…God’s precious messages continued flowing into my journal. This helped me stay close to Jesus throughout the tumultuous time.”
    • Yes, Sarah Young actually says, “God’s precious messages continued flowing into my journal.”
    • CBN asks Sarah Young, “What are some of the most important truths you have learned from journaling?”
    • Note that Sarah Young’s method of “journaling” is what she says leads her into a “presence” and “peace” that she claims are from God.
    • What else could this be but some form of channeling, or clairvoyance, or telepathy?
    • This sounds exactly like some of the definitions in a massive New Age/occult book titled, The Donning Encyclopedic Psychic Dictionary.
    • How is it that Sarah Young has to implement a method—a “journaling” technique—in order to experience the “peace of God”?
    • Paul and Silas experienced the peace of God even whilst they were persecuted and after they had been beaten with rods. They were singing praises to God in a prison cell (Acts 16:22-25).
    • What Sarah Young is doing sounds like literary mediumship. This definition if from June Beltzer’s Donning International Encyclopedic Psychic Dictionary.
(See, "Another Jesus" Calling - How Sarah Young's False Christ is Deceiving the Church - EXPANDED 2ND EDITION by Warren B.

    Part 6

    • Christians can be polluted and their faith can be shipwrecked by deceptive evil spirit teachings coming through false teachers.
    • If you want to listen to God you must clearly understand Scripture and properly apply it to your life.
    • Sarah Young does warn about inconsistent hearing from God/Scripture, but she is not very discerning at all.
    • Sarah Young’s lack of spiritual discernment led her to be inspired by God Calling, a book that was channeled.
    • Are we to listen to author Sarah Young now - instead of directly reading and gleaning from Scripture?
    • Sarah Young was a Christian for 20 years before practicing her “listening prayer.”
    • Quote from Sarah Young regarding Psalm 46:10 - “Be still and know that I am God.”
    • The biblical application of Psalm 46:10 has nothing to do with “sitting with pen in hand” and “listening to God.”
    • Cults around the world pervert this Scripture in numerous ways, as do many Christians.
    • Many New Age/mystic/occult proponents, as well as uneducated Christians, twist and pervert Psalm 46:10 into something that it clearly does not mean.
    • Sample authors: Lawrence LeShan, Shakti Gawain, Richard Foster, Thomas Keating, Anthony De Mello, Thomas Merton, Daniel Goleman, Richard Foster, Wayne Teasdale, Bede Griffiths.
    • Quote from Sarah Young about how she listens to God and says, “As I receive it [messages] from Him.”
    • CBN asks Sarah Young, “Share a memorable experience when you began listening to God—with pen in hand.”
    • Sarah Young responds with:

    Part 5

    • Paul the Apostle's concern about Christians being deceived (2 Corinthians 11:1-4).
      • 2 Corinthians 11:1-4 — "Would to God ye could bear with me a little in my folly: and indeed bear with me. For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him."
    • What is my concern? My concern is that spirit entities are masquerading as biblical personalities and deceiving people.
    • We have many resources on Spiritual Research Network that expose the false “Jesus” of Jesus Calling.
    • Direct quote from Sarah Young from the CBN.com author profile, about her “listening” to God.
    • How did Sarah Young learn to “dialogue” with God?
    • Sarah Young says she was inspired by God Calling, which is actually an occult book that was channeled from the spirit world.
    • Sarah Young’s “monologue”…and then listening to a “still small voice.”
      From monologue—to dialogue—with God?
    • There are numerous materials that clearly and concisely expose the “messages” from Sarah Young’s false Christ.
    • Sarah Young should come out and repent and apologize to Christians everywhere.
    • Demonic spirits that counterfeit themselves as “Jesus” are deceiving many churchgoers.
    • Christians can be polluted and their faith can be shipwrecked by deceptive evil spirit teachings coming through false teachers.
      • 1 Timothy 1:19 - "Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck"
    • If you want to listen to God you must clearly understand Scripture and properly apply it to your life. Sarah Young does warn about inconsistent hearing from God/Scripture, but she is not very discerning at all. Sarah Young’s lack of spiritual discernment led her to be inspired by God Calling, a book that was channeled.

    Part 4

    • New Age/occult spirit revelation/communication (spiritism) from a demonic spirit masquerading as Jesus.
For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him."
    • Paul the Apostle warns about corrupting influences on the Christian mind and Paul rebukes true Christian believers who put up with those bringing false gospels and false christs.
    • Even Satan can transform himself into an “angel of light” (2 Corinthians 11:12-15).
      • 2 Corinthians 11:12-15"But what I do, that I will do, that I may cut off occasion from them which desire occasion; that wherein they glory, they may be found even as we. For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works."
    • In Matthew 7:15-23, Jesus warned of false teachers, "Ye shall know them by their fruits.”
      • Matthew 7:15-23, KJV - “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”
    • Demonic angelic presences can masquerade as “Jesus.”
    • The Encyclopedia of New Age Beliefs - refutes occult practices, channelers, and their contacts.
    • Listing of human channelers that propose to communicate with spirit beings and their spiritistic contacts (whether departed or living).
    • Our concern is that these deceptive spirit entities are hijacking the name of biblical personalities, and the very name of Jesus Christ Himself.
    • Spiritual Research Network is committed to refuting the counterfeit “Jesus” of Sarah Young’s Jesus Calling.

    • The certainty of the Scriptures.
    • 2 Peter 1:15-18"Moreover I will endeavour that ye may be able after my decease to have these things always in remembrance. For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty. For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount."
    • The Word of God is more sure than our own experience.
    • We must heed the Word of God!
    • God’s Word of prophecy never came by the will of man.
    • False teachers secretly bring in destructive heresies.
    • Christians are being exploited through deceptive words and greed.
    • Flattery, deceit, reinterpreting Scripture.
    • Spiritual abuse from false prophets.
    • Preach the Gospel and warn about deception!
    • Jude’s warning to the Church (Jude 1-4).
      • Jude 1-4"Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called: Mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied. Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ."
    • Contending for the faith.
    • Exalting the Lord, defending the faith, and warning about deception.

    • Biblical discernment cutting through the New Age.
    • Popular book - Jesus Calling by Sarah Young.
    • Warren B. Smith’s book titled “Another Jesus” Calling exposes the false teachings in Sarah Young's Christian devotional book that is titled Jesus Calling.
    • Scaling the language barrier of redefined biblical terminology.
    • Crafty New Age concepts and deceptions.
    • False teachers and scriptural warnings.
    • 2 Peter 1:19-2:3"We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not."
    • God’s Word and Truth are a priority!
    • God is the originator of Scripture, not Sarah Young!

THE RISING STORM and A CLARION CALL for HUMILITY, TRUTH and REPENTANCE

Observations for Calvary Chapel Leaders to Consider

Video description, originally published on Apr 26, 2016

Filmed between a 45-minute break between down-pouring rain and a storm system approaching from the horizon, this unscripted, impromptu video expresses my heart and desire to see people in the Calvary Chapel movement (and other movements) helped and healed and strengthened in their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ in these last days.

I have no desire to divide the Body of Christ or needlessly offend anyone who is in the Calvary Chapel movement and beyond. I am simply sharing my heart and God’s truth in light of a number of observations I have seen growing for over 25 years now, in the Calvary Chapel movement. Things now have become so blatant in the rising storm of ecumenical apostasy—that only sincere prayer and publicly declared clarion calls for humility, truth, and repentance will make any difference at all. My prayer is that God Himself by His Spirit and His Word will raise up clarion voices around the globe in this late hour.

As a Christian missionary and as a former Calvary Chapel pastor for many years, I have been observing a growing trend of too many people remaining silent on far too many major ecumenical compromises. A host of other issues are also of concern.

Sadly, true biblical accountability is often sidestepped and leaders (and/or church elders) either remain silent in the face of evil—perhaps out of fear of ostracism or losing their livelihood—or they willfully choose to remain ignorant when presented with documented facts. For whatever reason, when leaders are passively silent, and even suppress the truth when godly action, righteousness, and truth should prevail, God is grieved and the church sinks into malaise, confusion, and apostasy.

This video was not a 'planned' event. I was actually standing on the beach alone, praying. As I was watching the rising storm clouds on the distant horizon and observing the turbulent waves, I was reminded of the flood of shameful compromise and storm of spiritual apostasy that is taking over churches and families worldwide. As I began to share my heart and thoughts in this video, some local bystanders slowed down to listen, perhaps you, like them, will seriously consider what I was saying.

Altogether, my heart is for pastors, for church leaders, and for fellow believers in Jesus Christ. My heartfelt exhortation is the same as Jude’s in the early days of Christianity, and my sincere prayer is that all who have ears to hear, will hear—for God’s glory—and that laymen and leaders alike, will take heed, “Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints” (Jude 3).

“And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.” (Ephesians 4: 11-16)

Contending for the truth, in the love and joy of the Lord,

    Confronting Abusive Leaders

Are abusive leadership tactics and "the fear of man" pressing you down into submissive silence?

Are abusive leadership tactics and "the fear of man" pressing you down into submissive silence? Have you ever been outright rejected when lovingly confronting an abusive leader or abusive church (and secular workplace) leadership? Has your pastor, or have your church leaders, tried and successfully accomplished manipulation tactics on you? Does your church engage in subtle forms of mind control, coercion, fear tactics, excessive submission teaching, etc? Do you feel abused and silenced, or have you been commanded to keep silent?

If you don't remain silent and adhere to the commanded "silence" treatment, is the ungodly "diaprax" method played on your heart and mind? Where does one turn when these things are occurring?

You are always free to leave...or are you?

I consider all of the ‘Potentially Harmful and Dangerous Spiritual Practices’ that I mention (and many more) to have the potential to be spiritually harmful, if not downright exceedingly dangerous.

I am issuing these warnings because many New Age, holistic and mystical/occult spiritual practices we warn about include either one, two, three—or all four of the following components of the occult/psychic worldview:

    1. Mystical and supernaturalistic health-related methods.
    2. Founded on occult principles.
    3. Dangerous forms of occult and mystical practices.
    4. Based on the writings and beliefs associated with either paganism, spiritism, occultism, or mysticism.

Furthermore, many undiscerning Christians and churchgoers are involving themselves these days with potentially dangerous and dangerous mystical/occult practices.

Just because something "feels good" or can bring "healing" does not necessarily mean it is of God - even if it is found in a church or prayer setting.

    Questions For Those Considering Yoga

A Few Simple Things For Consideration!

It is for good reason that Christian pastors in India weep over the ignorance of Christians in the West - that do yoga for "exercise." Christian or non-Christian, it seems that most people in Western civilization have never been properly warned about the dangers of yoga.

Asking simple questions, Chris Lawson presents various straightforward considerations that people should seriously think about before launching themselves - and those around them - into influences that the world of yoga can produce within them, upon them, and through them.

The Priority of Not Neglecting Jesus Our First Love

The Priority of Not Neglecting Jesus Our First Love

The Priority of Not Neglecting Jesus Our First Love

Jesus Rebukes the Church at Ephesus (Revelation 2:1-7)

Christian ministry and service should never replace our personal love and devotion to our Lord Jesus Christ. This message is a reminder for each of us to personally consider what priority we individually place on our personal relationship with Jesus Christ, our obedience to His Word, and whether or not we are neglecting Jesus as our “first love” (Rev. 2:4).

This sermon is not intended to needlessly offend Christians, nor is it an attempt to drive people into more “service” for the Lord. Rather, it is a compelling message intended to encourage believers to remember the goodness of the Lord, to repent from spiritual apathy, and to love Jesus and adore Him, thereby returning to Him as one’s first love - in sincerity and in truth.

    Scriptures: Revelation 1:1-2:7; Ephesians 1:22; 4:15; Colossians 1:18, 24; 2:9; 1 John 5:4-5.

Revelation 2:1-7 (KJV) - 1 Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks; 2 I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars: 3 and hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name’s sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted. 4 Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. 5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent. 6 But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate. 7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.
