Aubrey Able, of Curious Squirrel Bookshop in Zionsville, joins our hosts to chat about her journey through changing careers, her passion for sharing underrepresented stories, and the process of curating a bookstore that speaks to the needs of her community. 

Aubrey sits down with disability rights speaker, Olivia Mozzi, to discuss the importance of disability awareness education for all. Olivia speaks to the power of words, how she's dealt with people's assumptions about her and her disability, and her experiences in the world of theater.

On our first episode of a brand new series, Executive Director and Co-Founder of Joseph Maley Foundation, Vivian Maley, returns to Chrysalis to speak in-depth about our Disability Awareness program. Our Butterfly Effect series will specifically feature stories of growth and change within Joseph Maley Foundation. In this episode you'll learn more about the origins of the program, how it has evolved since its first iteration in 1999, and what Vivian's hopes are for the future of Disability Awareness.

Aubrey chats with Carly Pearson and Tim Weber about their unique journey to friendship, and about Carly's life experiences. A former firefighter for the U.S. Forestry Service, Carly was injured on August 17, 2002 at 27-years-old while battling a fire in the Umpqua National Forest. She was diagnosed with an incomplete spinal cord injury, and was paralyzed from the waist down. Carly speaks about her path to recovery - both physically and emotionally - and how the world of competitive parasports has become an incredible passion for her. Carly has been awarded nine national championships in three parasports: cycling, triathalons, and climbing. Currently, she is the ADA Coordinator for Knox County, Tennessee.

Our fifth and final episode of our Dyslexia Awareness Month Series features Abigail Griebelbauer. Abigail is the author of The Empower Empathy Early Series, a children’s book series which currently focuses on adding neuro-diverse representation to children’s literature. She is also a current speaker for Joseph Maley Foundation’s Disability Awareness program. Aubrey and Abigail speak about her journey to writing, the importance of representation, and her mission as an author.

In preparation for the Indy 500, Aubrey speaks with Madeline Worcester, a 2022 500 Festival Princess, and former Joseph Maley Foundation puppeteer. They speak about the necessity of persistence, childhood dreams becoming a reality, and the joy of serving your community.

Aubrey speaks with Tara Elder, Hillary Brown, and Michelle Pleasant, three parents from George Julian School 57, in the Irvington neighborhood of Indianapolis. After a tragedy at the school in September of 2021, a group of parents came together to honor a young girls life, and bring renewed joy to their children's school.

Aubrey interviews Myles Rowe, a driver currently competing in the USF2000 National Championship with Pabst Racing. Myles and Aubrey chat about his journey to racing, the state of diversity in the sport, and Myles' passions and interests outside of racing.

Aubrey interviews Brian Galloway, a long-time speaker for Joseph Maley Foundation's Disability Awareness program. They talk about how Brian's life changed after a 2012 motorcycle accident, finding community and joy in athletics, and how a seemingly inconsequential action can lead to colossal change.

Aubrey speaks with Cameron Miller, who shares his story of growth and change, the journey to realizing his true self, and his experiences as a young trans man.

Aubrey interviews Annie Spaletto, a junior at Westfield High School in Westfield, Indiana. They speak about the challenges Annie has experienced after receiving a new diagnosis in 2020, the power of a good support system, and why she's chosen to be an advocate for others. 

Aubrey speaks with Tim Weber and Tom Wadelton about their extensive support and participation in run2gether, a Joseph Maley Foundation's adaptive sport initiative. Tim and Tom share their journey with run2gether, from its beginnings to its current state, and the change and growth they’ve seen within the initiative, as well as within themselves over the years.

In today's episode of Chrysalis, Aubrey chats with Dr. Eric Yancy about his journey to pediatrics, his thoughts on discrimination in the medical field, and why a door closing isn't always a bad thing.
