Daniel Brown, Norm de Plume, and why-are-we-here Matt Moseley get together to finish out this comic book. We did this the same night as Issue 65, so if you haven't listened to that yet then you should check that out first. I have so much I want to say about this comic book, but Matt Moseley summed it up best:

    "May it never strike again."

    Yup, that checks out.

Merry Kwanzanukkalidaysmas! Comics Talk Comics is here to help you celebrate a wonderful, silent night with the loudmouths of Daniel Brown, Norm de Plume, and Co-co-co host Matt Moseley. We are rounding out our evaluation of The Dark Knight Strikes Again and keep on hoping it will get better.

Well, I have something to tell you, kids: It doesn't get better. It never will.

Issue 64: Superman's Girlfriend (right?) Lois Lane #6.1 and 6.3

It's been far too long since Comics Talk Comics decided to cover the progressive series that is know as "Superman's Girlfriend." On this particular episode we have Daniel Brown, Norm de Plume, and special guest Olivia Searcy. She joins the guys to give a woman's perspective on Lois' current adventure, which involves (1) blackmailing a child and (2) committing crime.

Also, the comic book features information about wedding rings (as written by old men) in a 1950's comic book. It is as informative as you would hope it would be.

If you normally download this from the website or from iTunes then I implore you to check out our Facebook page. We normally put up some scans from the comic book and, in this particular case, we published the letters section. It is as progressive as you would hope it would be.

Issue 62: Steve Rogers Captain America #1

Comics Talk Comics is back with comics talking...racism, video games, transgender issues, other comic books, and Steve Roger's Captain America #1 (the one where he becomes a member of Hydra). This week Daniel Brown, Norm de Plume, and special guest (no, really) D.K Vinson get together to talk about the comic book and a lot of other things.

If you don't have time to listen to the podcast then that's perfectly OK. Spoiler alerts: We like the comic. We love Marvel's current direction in the comic book industry. We hate the Mass Effect 3 ending.

Comics Talk Comics is coming to you and it's fresh off the...press? Hard drive? 1's and 0's?

...well, it's fresh! Daniel Brown, Norm de Plume, and Special-ish Guest Matt Moseley are moving along and are going deeper into country. Bruce Wayne (spoiler alert: alter ego of Batman) is generally hailed on many top 10 lists as the best super hero. Some people on the podcast might even agree with that assertion.

However, this is not The Killing Joke, Year One, The Long Halloween, Hush, Black Mirror, etc. No, this is something much more special. We appreciate everyone who keeps following along with us and if you're looking to reach out there are numerous ways to get at us.

    Issue 59: Star Wars #8 (1977)

A new issue of Comics Talk Comics is ready...kind of?

This week we are coming back to Marvel's 1970's Star Wars comics. Also, it's worth mentioning that we've been sitting on this one for a while because the last half of the podcast went missing. We're sorry. Also, this was one of the first on the new rig, which is now almost a year ago, so we were still working on learning the new mics. Again, sorry. Also, we really didn't get our names or the podcast in the intro because we ended up bullshitting for about an hour before doing the podcast (during the longest sound-check ever), so our names appear over an hour later. So...sorry?

Host Daniel Brown, Co-host Norm de Plume, Special Guest* Matt Moseley, and other guest Jason Switzer meet up to discuss Star Wars #8, which is basically The Seven Star Warsai. Only, since the last half is missing, we end up doing a lot of banter about Star Wars vs. Star Trek after the "bowwww....babowbowbowbowbooowwwww..." part of the podcast.

*Editor's Note: Due to this taking place long before Issue #50 Matt Moseley, in this particular episode, is still Special Guest.

Comics Talk Comics comes in this week with the final chapter in the story of "The What If Comic Nobody Wanted." Daniel Brown, Norm de Plume, and Super Spook Special Geist Matt Moseley decide to finish exploring the rom-com that is neither romantic or funny. Trouble #4 and #5 brings closure and answers the big mystery: If Aunt May had a soothsayer tell her she'd never be called mother, and she managed to get pregnant, then how does...

    Issue 57: Trouble #2 and #3

Comics Talk Comics is back with the another look at the Spider Man title, Trouble. Well, it's a Spider Man title without the spider and, based on the ages of the characters, very few men.

Daniel Brown, Norm de Plume, and Co-host-special-guest Matt Moseley gather together to discuss the origin story of Peter Parker's conception. Things are really taking off, as we delve further into the history of Uncle Ben, the love triangle taking place between friends, and further development into Richard Parker, father of Spider Man.

Who are we kidding? It's an uncomfortable read with equally-uncomfortable covers.

    Issue 56: Trouble #1

Never has a comic book title been more appropriate. This week the members of Comics Talk Comics (Daniel Brown, Norm de Plume, and S.G. Matt Moseley) decide to finally discuss a comic about one of the greatest heroes in comicdom: Spider-Man.

Except this is our podcast, which means our Spider-Man comic book has no Spider-Man, but a lot of inappropriate moments between Peter's family. Set in the 60's/70's/or 00's, Trouble is the origin story of Peter Parker that asks a question that nobody wanted to know: "How was Peter Parker conceived?"

It turns out in the worst way imaginable. Also, we apologize for anyone who ends up following along or seeing the feed: These covers are uncomfortable. Actually, this whole thing is uncomfortable.

    Issue 53: Ultimate Adventures #1

Welcome back to another episode of Comics Talk Comics! We're finally getting back on track with the proper numbers for the episodes. "Wait, so is this issue 53, or is it 55 (because of the annuals), or is it 58 (because of the specials), or is it...?"

Look: We don't really know. What we do know is that we read Ultimate Adventures #1 and have decided to spend this podcast talking about it. Well, mostly about it, but some of the classic rants are there too. Daniel Brown, Norm de Plume, and Guest Master Sexay Matt Moseley (his promoted title is still in the works) get together, drink, and try to get to the bottom of whether or not this comic is ultimate or adventurous.

    Issue 52: Marville #6 and #7

    Issue 52: Marville #6 and #7

Issue 50 is still coming along, but we needed to finish this arc. There was a serious debate to start something else before rounding out our journey.

But did the Donner Party give up on their trek? Did Burk and Willis give up on their attempt to explore? Sputnik? Franklin? Absolutely not! So why would we?

At the conclusion of this episode there will be around 9+ hours of audio, between all the episodes, of Daniel Brown, Norm de Plume, and Matt Moseley discussing the series Marville. We aren't bad people. Really, we rag on a lot of the comics in our lists, but there is usually a silver lining that we can genuinely enjoy. 1960's Fantastic Four art. Chuck Norris walking around some docks. Joseph Culp's performance as Dr. Doom in the 1994 Fantastic Four movie. The last page of Billy Ray Cyrus' comic which, as of this writing, graces are Twitter page.

This comic has none of that. To quote Patrick Bateman in American Psycho, who makes a lot of sense in light of this comic:

"There are no more barriers to cross. All I have in common with the uncontrollable and the insane, the vicious and the evil, all the mayhem I have caused and my utter indifference toward it I have now surpassed. My pain is constant and sharp, and I do not hope for a better world for anyone."

Issue 51: Marville #5 (We Can't Let This Be Issue 50)

Issue 51: Marville #5 (We Can't Let This Be Issue 50)

Milestones are important. For example, if the human race is still around in 500 years, nobody is going to care who won The Grammy's in 2148. However, people will think "Who won the Grammy for Best Song of the Year for 2000," look up the information, and find that the collaboration between Santana and Rob Thomas produced the winning song, "Smooth." They will hear the song and exclaim "OF COURSE THIS IS TIMELESS!"

Well, we want to adhere to those values at Comics Talk Comics, so we refuse to let an episode of Marville be our Issue 50. We are currently working on that much-more bomb-ass episode, but for now we have...this.\

Daniel Brown, Norm de Plume, and Matt Moseley come together to review and discuss Marville #5. We learn more about the secret that Bill Jemas has decided to reveal to the world. I'll leave you with this tidbit from the comic: "Jesus was the first super hero."

That is both something in this comic book and something that needs to be on a t-shirt.

    Issue 49: Marville #4

    Issue 49: Marville #4

We keep on trucking and refuse to quit: Marville #4 continues to amaze us. The comic book actually decided to swerve us and become a scientific text about evolution, Jesus, dinosaurs, and Wolverine-Namor.

Daniel Brown, Norm de Plume, and Special Guest Matt Moseley (who keeps insisting that this isn't worth it BECAUSE HE'S PROBABLY RIGHT) embark on another adventure into the world created by ex-President of Marvel, Bill Jemas. It's difficult to put into words the thoughts we have about Marville #4, but after much heavy drinking...well, we still don't know.

Also, it's worth noting that we lost the last few minutes of the podcast, but it can be summed up as such: This is a bad comic. Please don't read this. It's like A Serbian Film; I know you're thinking "Naw, man, it can't be that bad."

    Trust us, it really is.

    Issue 48: Marville #3

    Issue 48: Marville #3

Comics Talk Comics wants to take a moment to make a very-special announcement: We're finished. Not as a podcast! We are still going to keep making these things!

But we are finished with our pursuit of the worst comic ever. Let me come to you with my hat in hand here and tell you what the origin of this podcast was: It started with Daniel Brown in a comic book shop telling someone about the Clone Saga. Another guy said "Hey, maybe you should make a podcast about bad comic books?" The idea was to find the worst comic books, read them, and convey our feelings about them to the public. A lot of lists unfairly have NFL Super Pro on them; we at the podcast are hardcore advocates of it being one of the greatest, dumb things to ever exist.

We have also been pleasantly surprised in the past by titles, such as Archie vs. Predator or Eminem and the Punisher. It's been a real pleasure going through comicdom and figuring out what we think (in our humble opinions) is worth your time. Also, we've tried to find the worst things and determine what happened.

Well, we did it: We broke our system. You can listen to this podcast, but I'm going to spoil it in the description: Marville #3 is the worst comic book ever made. That's not just me, Daniel Brown, saying it. Joining me this week is Norm de Plume and Special Guest Matt Moseley. This is the Serbian Film of comic books. Sure, you hear us talking about it and think "It can't be that bad, right?

Nope, it's that bad. I'm going to pull something from Issue 04 of the podcast and apply it here.

"There are bad things. There are bad things in the world. Many bad things. There are some things that are worse than those bad things. But this is the worst thing." - Norm de Plume

    Issue 47: Marville #2

    Issue 47: Marville #2

Comics Talk Comics is back and we are reviewing Marville #2. Most "Worst Comic Book of All Time" lists say this and NFL SuperPro are the bottom.

We are here to tell you that those lists are LIES. NFL SuperPro is the truth; the 'cast loves it. Daniel Brown, Norm de Plume, and Special Guest Matt Moseley are all in agreement that this might be the worst comic book ever made. 2/3rds of the podcast had property damage from the recent tornadoes in Pensacola (stay after the theme music for our sound check/storm discussion if you want more of us [for whatever reason]) and we're all in agreement that this comic book was the worst thing to happen during our week.

Please send some encouraging messages to our following streams because this comic book has put Special Guest Matt Moseley on the edge. I believe we make the case during this podcast that it would be a shame to find out that issues of Marville were given to prisoners of Guantanamo Bay.
