As a lifelong conservative living in coastal California, navigating the blue state has always come with its fair share of challenges. Growing up I watched my parents continually wrestle with local government restrictions and regulations. As an adult, I've found myself in the same boat trying to maneuver overreaching city mandates, codes, zoning regulations, you name it. The struggle to comply is not paved with yellow bricks. Surviving in California takes stamina. Thriving in California is becoming harder and harder.
