Compassion works with churches in impoverished areas to address not only the physical needs of children, but their educational, economic, and spiritual needs!

Sometimes when we hit a wall, we try to wrap our heads around what God is doing. Our hearts pound and our legs tremble and we shake at the wall. It feels as if there’s no getting around it. 

Today, we look at how Habakkuk responds to his wall experience. For us, his journey can be a blueprint of sorts. A guide for our own dark night seasons. 

It’s almost like talking to a seasoned runner as you prepare for a marathon who says, “Yeah I get it. I too have faced the wall. But here’s how I got through it.” That’s what Habakkuk Chapter Three offers us.

God doesn’t waste the waiting! He’s not just working on your circumstance, he’s working on YOU.

No matter what life feels like right now, know that God will be faithful to you. If you doubt that remember this truth:

“While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8b)

Even when we were not faithful, God was faithful.

There can be a lot to complain about in life…

And at times, during the hardest seasons of life, it does seem like God isn’t being fair. 

But, is it okay to complain to God?

As we go through our new series  “Why Does God Seem Unfair?” we’ll explore a book of the Bible that is all about a man who complained when it seemed God was being unfair.  We’re going to look at Habakkuk’s complaint and God’s response.

By being intentional about LESS, we can actually experience MORE 🙌

It’s PLANTED INSIDE of us❗️

“Forever” is such a deeply divine idea, and if it wasn’t for God planting it IN us - eternity wouldn’t even be on our radar.

Instead, God has planted within each of us a LONGING for something MORE, something that LASTS, it is a longing for the ETERNAL.🙌

And this is the same power that is available to us today! He will give you the strength. He can do more than you ask or imagine!

Maybe we have a PR problem??

In a Barna survey earlier this year…
42% of people with no faith say that “the hypocrisy of Christian people” causes them to doubt the Christian faith. (Barna)
So Yikes 😬maybe we have a PR problem??

But here is the good news: Jesus didn’t think anyone was a lost cause. And if we’re going to overcome our current situation, we need to SEE people like Jesus SAW people!

The things that we value capture our hearts, which shapes what we think about, which then affects how we act, and ultimately…Who we become. 

So, when it comes to your life and your relationships and how you spend your time and energy, how highly do you value evangelism? How important is it to you to share your faith with others?

When you think about these things, you might ask yourself 

Why should we care about “seeking and saving the lost?” 
Why should we care about the lost at all? 

Well, here’s the short answer…because God does 😌

Jesus said his mission and the reason he came to earth was
 “…to seek and to save the lost.”  (Luke 19:10)

And like Jesus, we too have a mission. As a matter of fact, His mission is our mission. Together, let’s partner with God in His passion, Jesus in His mission, and live out the commission He’s given us every day.

Sometimes God speaks in a way that is often subtle and can easily be missed. But, when we pay close enough attention, you might just hear his whisper 👂

Jesus explains it like this 🙌

“Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, ‘This is the way; walk in it.’” - Isaiah 30:21

The Spirit of God is with us, guiding us with a whisper. Even Jesus himself has this picture of a whisper in mind when he describes the Holy Spirit. 

But what does this actually look like for us, to hear God’s whisper?
