This week we dive back into the world of Les Claypool with our tour guide Toaster, ruler and exalted lord of TOASTERLAND.   Picking up chronologically where we left off we look at “Late” Les,  The Fancy/solo band, recent Primus.  Then we delve deeper into the origins of Toasterland. 

            During the interview, we get to talking and we realize that we have seen a few awesome shows together and not known it, I thought that was pretty awesome.  Anyway, enjoy part 2 of the Les Claypool edition.

Welcome back music lovers to Cosmic Lion Radio #22.1 the Les Claypool edition featuring Toaster from Toasterland.com.  In our bassiest edition ever we feature Toaster the underground archivist/curator of Toasterland.com’s galleries of setlists and streaming audio spanning the length of Les Claypool’s career.  I asked him to pick out some weird and wild cuts for us from deep in the archives and he came back with so many amazing live Claypool moments that I had to split this episode into two parts.  The podcasts are in chronological order and part one goes from 1989-2005 and features Primus, The Frog Brigade, Holy Mackerel (super rare stuff) and more.  You are really gonna get deep into the corners of the Claypool archive and hear some truly amazing music as well as hear Toaster and I talk about the shows and what makes us love Claypool so much.

This week we are honored to present the Gonzoest podcast ever.  We welcome Wayne Ewing from Hunter Thompson Films to the show.  Wayne is an Emmy nominated filmmaker, a roving reporter, and was, at one time, Hunter Thompson's Road Manager.  Wayne has also made 4 films about the great Doctor of Journalism, “Breakfast With Hunter,” “When I Die,” “Free Lisl,” and “Animals, Whores & Dialouge.”  Wayne talks about his early film work and he tells of that fateful night at San Francisco’s O’Farrell Theatre where he met Hunter Thompson who was the night manager at the time.  This episode was a real honor to do, it was great to talk to some one who looked to Hunter as a Hero, as I do, and was able to meet him and document his incredible life.  So please listen in and be sure to check Wayne’s Work out by clicking the Bold words above!  All that and more on this weeks Enhanced Podcast!!

This week we dive head first into Hip Hop history with my Hip Hop Guru TRUCE II HEAD RUSH! We explore early Hip Hop hits, alternative forms of Hip Hop, consciousness, and friendship.  We also get a candid look at a real artist, a guy who has been making great music with great people for a really long time. We get to hear an early hit, a song that was a favorite song in my Hip Hop growth.   We also get to hear where his music is going and how it is progressing.  I am very excited about the Hip Hoppiest podcast EVER!!

Welcome back to the show! This week is by far the Friendiest podcast ever! Inspired by the first song I played, I challenged myself and some friends to, "Remember When We Were Young." I spoke to four great friends.  We get to speak to Ryan Dougherty, long time friend, painter, whose work was featured in the Monkelion comic and is also featured on the cover of this episode and Cali-based tye dyer (like he will tye-dye anything).  We get to speak to Tim and Lydia, hometown friends from Cumberland MD, Delfest Foundation Board members and just plain great people.  We get to speak to John Griffin, former owner of Larry’s Landing in St. John, USVI, great friend and a guy I have looked up to since the day I met him.  We get to speak to Colby Dix, one half of the comic gold that is Touchpants, guitar player, and album releaser. Welcome back folks!  This week is really amazing!! We spent some time at the "Worlds Largest Record Store" in St. Petersburg Florida, Bananas Music!!!  We met with the owner Doug who showed us around the store and took me to the warhouses warehouse! In this 'vault' we found some very special 78's and we found the true meaning of record "Albums." Spattered with a few historical picks by me this weeks podcast is really special.  All tracks in the podcast were recorded from their original vinyl presings.  So turn the lights down, put on your teashades, and chill out with this weeks "All Vinyl Edition!"

The Time Circuts went crazy and delivered us an episode from exactly one week in the future.  I could not resisit putting it out before 16, but who cares about numbers.  In this episode we get back to what made us, us, MUSIC! We put the Time Circuts back into use to speak to two journalists I asked to write a special peice about the show.  We also have a special trivia round this week and many more amazing songs designed to blast your face off!! This week we sit down with my hero and favorite comic artist, Jim Mahfood (Clerks, Grrl Scouts, Los Angeles Ink Stains, Marijuana Man).  We talk about his origins, his beliefs and the gonzo vein that runs throughout his work.  We talk about music and comics, what it is to be "underground" and what the future holds for this intrepid purveyor of "Visual Funk." This interview was a true honor and a pleasure.  A real dream come true!

This week we catch up with Alex Budney.  Talent buyer and part owner at Nectar's in Burlington Vt, Bass player (Seth Yacovone, Bad Suit) and lover of all things music.  We talk about his history in Burlington, the shows at Nectar's we loved and the nights surrrounding them, then play music from those nights.  This week we also feature a World Premier of "Everything I Play Gon' Be Funky" from the final Melvin Sparks show at Nectars, Aural Hershizer, the Mathematicians and much more… stay tuned to WCLP, Cosmic Lion Radio in the Morning...
