Being multi-passionate can feel like a double-edged sword. I know I have felt that way at times, and yet anytime I try to shut out certain passions they continue to knock on the door of my soul. This episode is about getting out of our own way and trusting the Universe to do the blending of our passions for us. In other words, we stop trying to force our passions to come together in a certain way OR stop trying to compartmentalize everything. If you're a multi-passionate like me you could probably write multiple books about your life experiences. We tend to fill our lives with tons of hobbies, travels, jobs, and so on. It's often difficult for others to understand that we're not wasting time - we're learning who we are. It can be difficult to honor our different interests and unique journey when everyone around us tells us we're making bad decisions by exploring or changing majors. This episode explores how to open up to all our loves and experiences, and recognize how they all inform and enrich our future. I had a unique opportunity to share my skills as a theme park designer with a group of kids at the school where I currently teach. Did you know Gonzo (yes the Muppet) is a Weirdo? Yes, that is his actual species and why he was always my favorite Muppet. I always felt like a weirdo and was called that several times in my youth, by bullies at school, but also by friends and family. I used to wear it as a badge of honor, even in the beginning stages of being humiliated for it. Over time, I eventually locked that bit of me away. It didn't feel safe for little weirdo Nicole to come out and play. However, since I began this journey, little bits of that unique, different-thinking, sensitive weirdo have returned.
