Single Women: Deprived, Desperate and Delusional?

Single Women: Deprived, Desperate and Delusional?
A woman goes on TikTok offended by a guy she met on Instagram sending her a $30 cashapp to buy lunch. She goes on a TikTok rant to talk about her lifestyle where she buys lavish lunches for at least $100.
From Bustle: TikTok has a habit of rebranding just about anything. According to the app, you’re not hungover; you’re having a bed rot day. You’re not immature; you’re simply a teenage girl in her 20s. And now, you’re not out of line or daydreaming; you’re just “delulu.” Short for delusional, the clinical term turned cutesy catchphrase may just be a new form of manifestation across the platform and beyond, meaning delulu culture might actually help you live the life of your dreams.

    Porn Star Pioneers Getting Purged

    Porn Star Pioneers Getting Purged
UK Sun mentioned that the latest tragedies involving the deaths of porn stars Jesse Jane and Kagney Linn Karter in an industry that has already seen many other lives cut short prematurely, with nearly a dozen adult film stars and entertainers dying in recent years - often in disturbing circumstances.
From TMZ: Jesse Jane -- a well-known porn star from the 2000s -- has died alongside her boyfriend, who also passed away, and it sounds like their death is drug-related ... TMZ has learned.
Law enforcement sources tell us the famed adult film actress was found dead at a home Wednesday in Moore, OK -- where we're told police responded to this residence on a welfare check ... and when they got there, our sources say officers discovered both Jesse and her boyfriend, Brett Hasenmueller, deceased.
Kagney Linn Karter's suicide was as horrific as one could imagine -- involving a self-inflicted gunshot wound ... from one of the most high-powered firearms around.
According to Cuyahoga County officials, the former porn star died by suicide last week -- and her official cause of death is listed as an intraoral shotgun wound. What that means in layman's terms ... she put a shotgun in her mouth and pulled the trigger. Karter has died at the age of 36, following a long battle with mental health issues.
She passed away at her home in Ohio on Thursday, according to online records seen by TMZ.
The file confirms that her body was received by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s office that day.
Police officials have since told the celebrity news site that Karter appears to have taken her own life, which has been corroborated by friends of the adult movie star.

Listeners React to The Psychology of Sugar Daddies, Sugar Babies and Sugar Dating

Listeners React to The Psychology of Sugar Daddies, Sugar Babies and Sugar Dating
A recent study published in The Journal of Sex Research delves into the intricate world of sugar dating, shedding light on the motivations, benefits, challenges, and nuanced power dynamics involved in these relationships. Conducted by Kate Metcalfe, a clinical psychology PhD student at the University of Texas at Austin, the research aims to fill the existing gap in understanding the experiences and perspectives of individuals engaged in sugar dating.
    Study Methodology:
The researchers recruited 77 participants, comprising 45 women, 31 men, and one non-binary individual, with diverse backgrounds and experiences in sugar dating. Employing measures such as the Relationship Power Inventory and the Hypergender Ideology Scale–Short Form, the study aimed to explore power dynamics, gender roles, and stigma associated with sugar dating. The researchers also conducted content analysis on qualitative responses to identify key themes.
    Sugar Dating Demographics and Histories:
The study highlighted a significant age gap between sugar babies (average age 28.76) and benefactors (average age 48.15), with sugar babies engaging in approximately four sugar dating arrangements on average. Over one-third of sugar babies had a history of other transactional sex work. Sugar benefactors, on the other hand, reported a higher average number of arrangements (over six), with many having engaged in various forms of transactional sexual relationships.
    Motivations for Sugar Dating:
Financial compensation emerged as a primary motivation for sugar babies, aligning with the transactional nature of sugar dating. However, emotional connection, companionship, and experiencing a lifestyle beyond their means were also significant factors. Sugar benefactors sought companionship and intimacy with partners perceived as more attractive, often coupled with a desire for adventure and mentoring younger partners.

    Concerns and Challenges:
Despite the perceived benefits, participants expressed concerns about safety, authenticity of relationships, and potential reputational damage. Sugar babies voiced worries about physical safety and coercion, while benefactors were concerned about exploitation and societal stigma.
    Gender Roles and Stigma:
Contrary to expectations, participants reported only moderate endorsement of traditional gender roles. The study also revealed moderately low levels of perceived stigma associated with sugar dating, suggesting that participants may not feel as socially marginalized as anticipated.
    Nuanced Power Dynamics:
The study uncovered nuanced power dynamics in sugar dating, challenging conventional stereotypes. While financial transactions played a role, a substantial number of participants perceived sugar babies as having significant power within the relationship. This power was linked to their ability to negotiate terms and their desirability, challenging preconceived notions about age and financial status determining power dynamics.
    Implications and Conclusions:
The findings suggest that sugar arrangements are multifaceted, involving aspects of both transactional sex and traditional romantic relationships. Power dynamics, influenced by physical appearance and compensation, contribute to a complex interplay within these relationships. The study emphasizes the need for a deeper understanding of the motivations, challenges, and dynamics involved in sugar dating, moving beyond simplistic portrayals prevalent in media and conversations.

Money Always In the Middle of Any Possible Date or Relationship

Money Always In the Middle of Any Possible Date or Relationship
The role of money in relationships has become increasingly significant, often taking a central position in the dynamics of modern dating. Several factors contribute to this trend. Firstly, economic pressures and rising living costs may lead individuals to prioritize financial stability when considering potential partners. The desire for financial security can influence dating choices, making money a crucial factor in relationship decision-making.
Moreover, societal expectations and changing gender roles play a role in the prominence of money in relationships. Traditional norms may associate a partner's financial success with their overall suitability, impacting how individuals perceive and evaluate potential dates. As gender dynamics evolve, financial independence and compatibility are often viewed as essential components of a successful relationship.
In the era of online dating and social media, the visibility of one's lifestyle and economic status has also increased. This heightened visibility can contribute to the emphasis on financial factors in dating, as individuals may showcase their achievements and lifestyle through online platforms.
While money's role in relationships has always been present to some extent, its heightened significance in modern dating may be a reflection of the complex interplay between economic factors, societal expectations, and the influence of digital communication platforms.

Zendaya's Boyfriend Guy Bestie Threesome Fantasy Fulfilled in "Challengers"
Vanity Fair described the movie written by Justin Kuritzkes, Challengers follows the story of Tashi (played by Zendaya), who finds herself embroiled in a high-stakes love triangle. The story follows Tashi, a pro tennis player who is forced to become a coach after an injury cuts her glittering career short.
Coach Tashi sets out to transform her husband, described as a mediocre tennis player, into a world-famous Grand Slam champion. It's all going according to plan until he hits a losing streak.
She resorts to signing him up to compete in a “challenger” event — per MGM, “close to the lowest level of pro tournament” — not knowing they would there reconnect with his former best friend… Tashi's former boyfriend.

2024 The Year of The Nice Guy? Not So Fast!

2024 The Year of The Nice Guy? Not So Fast!
In the annals of cultural trends, the term "Nice Guy" has long held a particular significance, often encapsulating a stereotype of men who perceive themselves as kind-hearted and considerate but who may also exhibit manipulative or entitled behaviors, especially in romantic contexts. As 2024 unfolds, there's a burgeoning discourse around redefining masculinity, respect, and relationships, and some have speculated that this could be the "Year of The Nice Guy." However, a closer examination reveals a more nuanced picture.
    **The Nice Guy Paradox**
Historically, the "Nice Guy" paradox revolves around the idea that individuals who loudly proclaim their niceness or expect romantic or social rewards for their perceived kindness often mask deeper insecurities or manipulative tendencies. This stereotype has been dissected in various media forms, from films to academic papers, highlighting the complexities of modern relationships.
    **Redefining Masculinity**
The 2020s have seen a seismic shift in discussions around masculinity, with increasing emphasis on emotional intelligence, vulnerability, and genuine respect for others. Movements like "toxic masculinity" have highlighted harmful behaviors and encouraged men to embrace a broader, healthier spectrum of emotions and interactions. This redefinition challenges the traditional "Nice Guy" narrative by emphasizing authentic kindness over performative gestures.
    **The Backlash Against Entitlement**
Simultaneously, societal awareness of entitlement, especially in male-female dynamics, has heightened. Discussions around consent, respect, and equality have become more prominent in mainstream discourse. This heightened awareness means that behaviors previously excused or overlooked under the guise of "niceness" are now subject to greater scrutiny, leading to a reevaluation of what it means to be genuinely respectful and considerate.
    **The Complex Landscape of Relationships**
In the realm of relationships, the 2020s continue to witness a reconfiguration of traditional norms. With the rise of digital communication and dating apps, interpersonal dynamics have evolved, demanding greater clarity, honesty, and respect. The "Nice Guy" trope, with its inherent ambiguities, struggles to navigate this complex landscape, often revealing its limitations and inconsistencies.
While 2024 may see increased discussions around the "Nice Guy" stereotype, proclaiming it as the "Year of The Nice Guy" oversimplifies the intricate challenges and transformations in societal attitudes towards masculinity, relationships, and respect. As conversations continue to evolve, a more nuanced understanding of kindness, respect, and authenticity emerges, challenging and reshaping long-held stereotypes and expectations.

Restoring the Dating Game And Dating Modern Women Differently

Restoring the Dating Game And Dating Modern Women Differently
The role of women in historical contexts transcended mere companionship, encompassing multifaceted contributions to society. Regrettably, contemporary Western discourse seldom delves into this nuanced subject, often relegating it to superficial analyses and cursory surveys.

There exists a growing concern regarding the trajectory we are on. There is a potential future wherein the traditional family structure becomes increasingly rare. Critics attribute this societal shift, in part, to certain interpretations of feminism and the perceived overconfidence of some progressive women.

Statistical data underscores the issue: over half of American women remain childless upon reaching 30. As they approach 35, fertility rates experience a precipitous decline, with a mere 15% chance of conception. By age 40, the likelihood of motherhood further diminishes to less than 5%.
There is a prevailing sentiment termed "Hoeflation," denoting the escalating costs men face in establishing and maintaining relationships, juxtaposed against perceived diminishing returns in female qualities within these relationships.

Fundamentally, some argue that certain feminist perspectives have intensified women's aspirations towards partnering with high-achieving men. Concurrently, these viewpoints might have inadvertently inflated self-perceptions among women, leading to challenges in interpersonal dynamics.

Single Women Struggle to Keep Lifestyle While Spiraling Into Debt

Single Women Struggle to Keep Lifestyle While Spiraling Into Debt
Single Women Struggle to Keep Lifestyle While Spiraling Into Debt
In the era of social media dominance, the quest for materialism and the allure of status and attention have become intertwined with financial behaviors. For single women, especially those influenced by the glamorized lifestyles of Instagram influencers, this pursuit can lead to significant financial pitfalls. Let's explore this dynamic further.
The Influencer Effect: Chasing the Instagram Dream**
Platforms like Instagram offer a curated glimpse into seemingly luxurious and aspirational lives. Single women, drawn into this digital realm, may feel compelled to emulate the lifestyles of influencers they admire. The pressure to showcase a similar level of luxury and sophistication can lead to overspending and accumulating debt in the pursuit of a picture-perfect life.
    Materialism and Consumption Patterns
The relentless pursuit of material possessions, often showcased and celebrated on social media, can fuel a cycle of excessive spending. The desire to own the latest fashion trends, gadgets, or luxury items can overshadow financial prudence, leading to impulsive purchases and mounting debt.
    Appetite for Clout and Attention
In the digital age, clout and attention have tangible value, often equated with social validation and success. Single women might be enticed to spend beyond their means in a bid to gain recognition, admiration, or validation from their online peers. The allure of being perceived as affluent, stylish, or influential can override financial caution.
    Status Symbols and Social Comparison
The pervasive culture of flaunting status symbols, from designer brands to exotic travel destinations, can foster unhealthy competition and comparison. Single women, influenced by this culture, may feel the need to keep up with peers or influencers, inadvertently pushing themselves into debt to maintain or elevate their perceived status.
    The Illusion of Instant Gratification
Social media often amplifies the desire for instant gratification. The constant exposure to curated lifestyles and luxury experiences can create a sense of urgency to acquire similar rewards immediately, leading to reckless spending and neglecting long-term financial planning.
The intertwined dynamics of social media influence, materialism, and financial behavior present unique challenges for single women in the pursuit of status and recognition. By fostering awareness, promoting mindfulness, and cultivating authentic connections, it's possible to navigate the complexities of modern aspirations with financial prudence and integrity. Balancing the allure of the Instagram dream with the realities of financial responsibility is crucial for long-term well-being and fulfillment.

The $500 Tinder Price Tag and Online Dating in 2024

The $500 Tinder Price Tag and Online Dating in 2024
As of September 2023, Tinder has announced a new membership tier called Tinder Select, which costs $500 per month. Tinder Select is only offered to less than 1% of users who are considered the most active on the app.
Accepted members receive exclusive perks such as:
    Early access to new features
    A virtual badge
The ability to see and be seen by the app's most sought-after profiles
The ability to direct message people without matching first
    Other VIP-level features
Tinder CPO Mark Van Ryswyk says the premium upgrade targets "high-intent users" who are looking for more efficient ways to make connections.
Some say Tinder Select could be worth it for men who use high-quality photos. According to The Match Artist, studies have shown that high-quality photos can significantly increase match rates.
However, others say that Tinder Select doesn't offer anything that's worth the $500 per month membership. Some say that for the average user, $500 a month is a lot to spend on dating apps. They say that the money would be better spent on personal dating and relationship coaching.
According to Roast, Tinder is worth it for people looking for casual dating or hookups. However, they say that Tinder may not be the place for people looking for a serious relationship.

Porn Company Punishes Viewers and Makes Them Pawns For Lucrative Lawsuits
Strike 3 Holdings is known for filing copyright infringement lawsuits, particularly in the context of adult entertainment content. Strike 3 Holdings, LLC is a company that produces and distributes adult films, and it has gained attention for pursuing legal action against individuals it alleges have illegally downloaded and shared its copyrighted content.

The company has employed a strategy commonly referred to as "copyright trolling." In copyright trolling cases, the copyright holder files lawsuits against numerous individuals accused of copyright infringement based on the illegal downloading or sharing of their content. Strike 3 Holdings, like other entities engaging in copyright trolling, often files lawsuits against multiple John Doe defendants, initially identifying them only by their IP addresses.

The company typically seeks to obtain the identities of the alleged infringers through subpoenas to internet service providers. Once the identities are revealed, Strike 3 Holdings may choose to pursue legal action against these individuals for copyright infringement, often offering settlements to avoid a full-blown trial.

Restaurants Setting Up Dinner Dates... with a Side of Scam!

Restaurants Setting Up Dinner Dates... with a Side of Scam!
Unraveling the Dark Side of Dating Apps: Are Restaurants Using Them to Scam Women? We talk about how men and women are being targeted.
In the ever-evolving world of online dating, a new scandal has emerged on TikTok, exposing a disconcerting trend that has left women questioning the authenticity of their potential matches. As dating apps navigated their way through a less-than-stellar 2022, it seems scammers have seized the opportunity to exploit the vulnerabilities of those seeking love in 2023.
The unsettling tale begins with TikTok user Paretay, who shared her experience of being stood up after a seemingly promising interaction on a dating app. Having connected with a seemingly perfect match who swiftly proposed a dinner date at a specific restaurant, Paretay couldn't have been more excited. The pre-date banter and confirmation on the day heightened her anticipation as she dressed up for what she hoped would be a memorable evening.
However, upon arriving at the designated restaurant, her date was nowhere to be found. Perplexed and disheartened, Paretay discovered the harsh truth when she checked the dating app – her match had unmatched her. Undeterred, she decided to turn the situation around, treating herself to a solo dinner, reminding herself that she was indeed too fabulous to go home disappointed.
Seeking solace in the online community, Paretay stumbled upon another woman's story who had faced a similar fate. What unfolded next was a revelation that sent shockwaves through the digital dating realm. It appeared that some unscrupulous restaurants were masquerading as potential matches on dating apps, luring unsuspecting individuals to their establishments under the guise of romantic encounters.
The anonymous woman revealed, "She found out that there are restaurants now posing as people on dating apps just so you go to their business. And when you get stood up, they know that nine times out of 10, you're going to buy something from them."
This alarming revelation raises questions about the ethical boundaries of businesses seeking customers through unconventional means. As users navigate the already complex landscape of online dating, the emergence of this deceptive tactic adds a new layer of caution. How many other individuals have unknowingly fallen victim to this ploy, and what does it mean for the future of online dating?
Join us as we delve deeper into this TikTok scandal, exploring the motives behind such deceptive practices and the potential impact on the trust users place in dating apps. As the lines between genuine connections and calculated scams blur, it's crucial to stay informed and vigilant in the ever-shifting landscape of digital romance.

Why Guys Shouldn't Be Friends With a Serial Dater

Why Guys Shouldn't Be Friends With a Serial Dater
KOP tells his own personal story of being friends with a serial dater. Depraved and Debaucherous discusses the Pitfalls of Friendship with a Serial Dater: A Rollercoaster of Emotions
In the fast-paced world of modern dating, we often encounter individuals who thrive on the excitement of new romantic connections. While exploring the diverse landscape of relationships can be exhilarating, there's a downside to being friends with someone who constantly seeks the next thrill in their love life. In this blog post, we'll delve into the reasons why being friends with a serial dater might not be as enjoyable or fulfilling as it seems.
Friendships thrive on stability and trust. However, maintaining a friendship with a serial dater can feel like being on an emotional rollercoaster. The highs of their newfound love and the lows of heartbreak become a regular part of your friendship, leaving you feeling emotionally drained and uncertain about the stability of the relationship.
Serial daters often prioritize the pursuit of new relationships over existing connections. When your friend is consistently seeking the next romantic adventure, it's easy to feel like you're just another stop on their journey. This shifting focus can leave you questioning the sincerity and longevity of your friendship.
Meaningful friendships thrive on shared experiences, trust, and understanding. Unfortunately, the constant turnover of romantic partners in a serial dater's life can hinder the development of deep, lasting connections. It becomes challenging to build a history and create lasting memories when the landscape is ever-changing.
Maintaining a close friendship requires time and effort. However, serial daters may find it challenging to balance their social life with the demands of multiple romantic relationships. As a result, their availability for meaningful conversations, shared activities, or even a simple catch-up might be limited, leaving you feeling sidelined.
Friendship is built on trust and loyalty. When your friend is constantly navigating the complexities of multiple relationships, it becomes difficult to rely on them as a consistent source of support. The loyalty that is crucial to a strong friendship may waver, leaving you uncertain about where you stand in their priorities.
While the excitement of a friend's vibrant love life might initially seem appealing, the reality of being friends with a serial dater can be challenging. The emotional rollercoaster, shifting priorities, lack of depth, limited availability, and unpredictable loyalty can strain even the strongest of friendships. As we navigate the complexities of our social circles, it's essential to recognize the importance of stability, trust, and commitment in building lasting connections that stand the test of time.

Sugar Daddy Scams Are For Suckers. Sugar Baby Scams Are For Simps

Sugar Daddy Scams Are For Suckers. Sugar Baby Scams Are For Simps
The allure of sugar daddy and sugar baby arrangements has gained popularity. However, it's crucial to be aware of the potential scams associated with these arrangements. In this post, we'll explore why falling for sugar daddy scams is for suckers and how sugar baby scams can target unsuspecting individuals.
Sugar Daddy Scams: A Fool's Game
Sugar daddy scams often involve individuals pretending to be affluent benefactors seeking companionship. They may promise financial support, lavish gifts, and exotic experiences, but their true intent is to exploit vulnerable individuals. Common tactics include asking for personal information, banking details, or requesting payment upfront. Falling for such scams can lead to financial loss, identity theft, and emotional distress.
Warning Signs for Sugar Daddy Scams
Requests for personal information or financial details.
Pressuring for immediate payment or transactions.
Inconsistent stories about personal background or wealth.
Unwillingness to meet in person or provide verifiable information.
Sugar Baby Scams: Beware the Simp Trap
Sugar baby scams involve individuals who pretend to seek companionship and support, but their primary goal is financial gain. They may exploit the generosity of others by requesting money, gifts, or expensive outings without providing the promised companionship. Simps, individuals who fall for such scams, may find themselves drained both emotionally and financially.
Recognizing Red Flags for Sugar Baby Scams
Consistently asking for financial assistance without reciprocation.
Avoiding in-person meetings or creating excuses to delay them.
Lack of genuine interest in building a meaningful connection.
    Inconsistent or unreliable communication.
    Protecting Yourself from Scams
Verify the identity of the person through online searches or social media.
Avoid sharing sensitive personal information or making financial transactions.
Arrange in-person meetings in public places for your safety.
Trust your instincts and be wary of anyone pressuring you for quick decisions.
While the concept of sugar daddy and sugar baby arrangements may seem appealing, it's crucial to approach such relationships with caution. Falling for scams can have serious consequences, both financially and emotionally. By staying informed, recognizing red flags, and prioritizing your safety, you can navigate online relationships more confidently and avoid becoming a victim of these scams.

Staying Forever Single and Surrendering From the Failed Dating Game

Staying Forever Single and Surrendering From the Failed Dating Game
Modern dating has evolved significantly with the advent of technology and the rise of dating apps. While it has created new opportunities for connections, it has also ushered in a new set of challenges. The dating game often comes with disillusionment, heartbreak, and emotional exhaustion. In 2023, many individuals are finding that the endless search for a romantic partner is taking a toll on their mental and emotional well-being.
    The Pursuit of Happiness
In a society that often equates happiness with being in a romantic relationship, choosing to stay forever single can be seen as an act of rebellion. However, it is essential to remember that happiness is a deeply personal and individual concept. Many people have realized that happiness can be achieved independently, without the need for a partner. It's not a rejection of love or companionship, but rather a declaration of self-sufficiency and contentment.
    Embracing Personal Growth
Staying single allows for unparalleled opportunities for self-discovery and personal growth. Instead of investing time and energy into romantic relationships, individuals can dedicate themselves to their passions, interests, and self-improvement. This can lead to a more fulfilling life with a greater sense of purpose.
    Building Strong Social Connections
Choosing to stay single doesn't mean isolating oneself from social interactions. In fact, it can open the door to building meaningful connections with friends, family, and the community. Strong social bonds are just as essential for human well-being as romantic relationships, and choosing to stay single provides the time and energy to cultivate these connections.
    Reclaiming Independence
Staying forever single also means reclaiming one's independence. There is no need to compromise on personal goals, values, or dreams to accommodate a partner's wishes or needs. This freedom allows individuals to create a life that is truly their own.
    A Sense of Fulfillment
In the end, the decision to stay forever single in 2023 is about finding a sense of fulfillment that aligns with one's own values and desires. It is an acknowledgment that a life lived on one's own terms can be just as rewarding as a life spent in partnership.

Body Count: How Men Count Sex and Women Count Anything

Body Count: How Men Count Sex and Women Count Anything
Oh, the infamous "body count." It seems that in today's society, women have become quite the experts on evaluating a man based on the number of notches on his bedpost. Because, you know, nothing says true love and compatibility like judging someone solely on their sexual history. So, ladies, let's all gather around and dissect a man's "body count" like it's some kind of sacred ritual.

First of all, let's all take a moment to appreciate the fact that women are the ultimate arbiters of a man's worth based on his sexual conquests. I mean, who needs actual meaningful connections or emotional intimacy when you can just tally up the number of notches on a guy's belt? It's truly fascinating how a simple number can determine whether someone is worthy of your time or not.
But wait, hold on a second. Let's not forget about the double standards here. While women are praised for being sexually empowered and liberated, men are shamed for having a high body count. It's almost as if society wants men to remain virgins until they find "the one," while women are encouraged to explore their sexuality freely. How progressive!

Now, let's discuss how women perceive a man's body count. Apparently, if a man has slept with too many women, he is labeled as a player or a womanizer. Because clearly, someone who has experienced a healthy and fulfilling sex life must be incapable of forming any kind of meaningful relationship. It's not like people can separate physical pleasure from emotional connection, right?
And let's not forget about the other side of the spectrum. If a man has a low body count or is even a virgin, he is deemed inexperienced or lacking in some way. Because clearly, one's worth as a partner is directly proportional to the number of times they've had sex. Forget about compatibility, shared values, or mutual respect – it's all about those numbers.

So ladies, let's all continue this archaic tradition of judging men based on their body count. Because nothing says true love like reducing someone to a mere statistic. Let's ignore the fact that people are complex beings with unique experiences and emotions. Instead, let's focus on reducing them to a number and making sweeping generalizations about their character.

In conclusion, it's truly remarkable how women perceive a man's body count as some kind of definitive measure of his worthiness as a partner. Let's continue to perpetuate these shallow judgments and disregard the essence of what truly matters in a relationship – genuine connection, emotional intimacy, and mutual respect. After all, who needs those when you can just count bodies?

Sex Workers Get Sex Boxes and Safer Streets

Sex Workers Get Sex Boxes and Safer Streets
Switzerland has introduced drive-in sex boxes to the city of Zurich. HeadTopics reports that Nine garage-style wooden structures have been erected (no pun intended) in a bid to make prostitution safer for the workers and clients. The plans for the ‘sex boxes’ were passed in November after being voted for by locals in a referendum.
Customers will have to pass a checkpoint before entering, which opens at 5am every day, and then follow a marked route to 40 prostitutes. Here they shall select a worker, negotiate a fee and after drive into one of the wooden sheds. The sex workers must purchase a ‘work ticket’ every night, costing around €4.50, which enables them to participate in the safer sex work scheme.
Meanwhile prostitution is again rampant all across California. In January, the state’s Safer Streets for All Act took effect. Gov. Gavin Newsom said the bill, which made loitering for the purpose of prostitution no longer a crime, was designed to prohibit police officers from confronting and arresting trans women and women of colour walking the streets.
“To be clear, this bill does not legalize prostitution,” Newsom said of the bill in July 2022. “It simply revokes provisions of the law that have led to disproportionate harassment of women and transgender adults.
“While I agree with the author’s intent and I am signing this legislation, we must be cautious about its implementation. My administration will monitor crime and prosecution trends for any possible unintended consequences and will act to mitigate any such impacts.”
