Disney fans rejoice! On the season 10 finale, I invite my friend and entertainment critic Aaron Wallace back on the show to discuss Disney animated Christmas shorts. As I was recently watching the documentary “Christmas with Walt Disney” on Disney+, it featured a lot of winter and Christmas clips from Disney animation shorts where it either made me remember a piece of content I loved and hadn’t seen in a while, showed me a clip of something that was recognizable but I wasn’t sure of its original source, or showed me something that was brand new to me. I decided to look up the ten shorts featured in the documentary and view them in their entirety. Aaron did the same, and afterward we discussed them all as well as sharing our top three favorites. In honor of this milestone occasion, Walt Disney Animation Studios released a short film titled “Once Upon a Studio.” In the short, Mickey and a whole bunch of Disney characters, that span a century, come to life at the Roy E. Disney Animation Building in order to take a group photo for the milestone celebration. Joining me to discuss is Disney illustrator, Rick Law. Disney fans rejoice!  On December 23, 1998, Cirque du Soleil opened the show “La Nouba” at Downtown Disney (now Disney Springs). It became a staple of the dining, shopping, and entertainment district for just over 19 years when it played its final performance on December 31, 2017. At that time, Disney fans had no idea what would replace this long-running production. Almost four years later, Cirque du Soleil’s “Drawn to Life” opened in the same venue at Disney Springs on November 18, 2021. This new production features everything audiences know and love about Cirque du Soleil, but this time it features a lot of your favorite Disney characters with an unprecedented collaboration between Cirque du Soleil and Walt Disney Animation Studios. Joining me to discuss this production is the show’s Artistic Director, Justin Sullivan, and the Artist who performs the role of Mother, Andreanne Nadeau.
