#63: The Relaxation Fun time Mindfulness Ramble Hour (In Your Mind's Ears)

#63: The Relaxation Fun time Mindfulness Ramble Hour (In Your Mind's Ears)
This week I eventually get around to talking about the latest pregnancy scan where I get to see my baby boy in profile but not live and in the room but before all that I go on a ramble down various side alleys including whatever the hell is going on with Armie Hammer and what kind of a name is that to be calling anybody by? Also for the tough times that's in it I have written a special guided meditation to keep you centered and safe on a beach with me, in your minds eye. so RELAX, or else! And enjoy!

#62: A Smoke And A Pancake, Warts And All

#62: A Smoke And A Pancake, Warts And All
It's a special day celebration as I tell you how I like my pancakes done and what's on them. Plus, what is a shrove anyway? Did I really steal a meal to feed my drinking habit? Yes and no. Also, what does a seventh son of a seventh son have to do with a cure for warts? Can you smoke a stock cube and does it need to be beef or chicken? All will be revealed in my casual drug history plus an Irish pop classic covered in a soulful way. Enjoy.

#61: Captain Hindsight & Professor Google Fight To The Death In The Comments Section

#61: Captain Hindsight & Professor Google Fight To The Death In The Comments Section
This week the never ending continuous routine of the pandemic has made some people compare this lock-down to the film Groundhog Day but I contend it's not really like that at all and we should be thankful that it's not. But before I even get to that there is a lot of waffle and gallows humour as well as some fake religious sermonising and radio DJ banter that has me wishing for the quote, unquote normal times. All this plus a hypocritical take-down of social media. Follow me online and prove my hypocrisy and enjoy the song at the end while my brain has some technical difficulties.

#60: Wasps, Dogs, Foxes and Techno Fish

#60: Wasps, Dogs, Foxes and Techno Fish
This week Ed talks about the horror of dog poop and the mystery of wasp infiltration as well as the fox spotting he has been getting up to. Meanwhile what online snooping has his Father Gerry has been up to? There's a fine line between creepy and romantic as Ed explains in his review of The Notebook and he ponders why The Power Of Love never won a best original song Oscar. All this plus some Irish disco flavoured German Techno and Brendan Blowhard gives us his best Huey Lewis impression.

#59: Once More Into The Hullabaloo, Dear Friends

#59: Once More Into The Hullabaloo, Dear Friends
This week Ed is apologetic but hopes you understand that he needed a week off just like everyone else. Ed and the lovely Cara went on a strange but beautiful Sunday afternoon date and Ed also reveals a mystery on his road. The outcome will shock, surprise and amuse you. Ed also talks about the cheesy goodness that is Cobra Kai on the streaming tellybox, The Last Of Us on the videogamebox and dips into the mailbag with questions and answers sent in by some of his Instagram friends. All this plus a heartfelt special rendition of 'Father and Son'. Enjoy!

The Good, The Bad And The Ugly 'Sleeps With The Fishes'

The Good, The Bad And The Ugly 'Sleeps With The Fishes'
A deep dive into the making of a classic spaghetti western. But why is it called that? How did Eli Wallach almost die several times during production? What was cut out of the movie and reinserted and is it any good? Why did Clint Eastwood think he was being short changed? Hear about all this and more plus my pitch perfect Sergio Leone impression on this episode of the podcast that's designed to be listened to while going asleep but sure you can listen to it whenever you like, I won't mind.

#58: Deep Fried Elvis Sandwiches From The Post Apocalyptic Wasteland

#58: Deep Fried Elvis Sandwiches From The Post Apocalyptic Wasteland
It's another episode of the podcast where, this week, Ed finally reviews the horny second half of Bridgerton and gives his two cents on the sequel to Wonder Woman which is set in 1984. Is this a clever reference to George Orwell? No. There's nothing clever about this movie. Ed also talks about a treasure trove of old Uncut magazines he has recently come into possession of and reads from a article concerning Elvis and his love of horribly bad for you foodstuffs. Ed also reveals his 'love' of Elvis and talks about the generational gap between himself and his future Father in Law when it comes to the medium of video games and Turkish dramas. Enjoy.

BeetleJuice 'Sleeps With The Fishes' (Featuring 'Hot To Trot')

BeetleJuice 'Sleeps With The Fishes' (Featuring 'Hot To Trot')
It's another movie favourite from my childhood, a run through of Tim Burton's funny and scary and horny ghost with the most in the form of Michael Keaton's title character. But what's his real name? No, not Betelguese. Michael. Who could have been cast, what's a scat got to do with it? What's a BeetleMoose? Why is there a full run through of terrible talking horse comedy 'Hot To Trot', a movie with an inflatable sex horse in the middle of this episode.?! Feel sleepy, get comfortable, stick it on and find out. Then sleep. Enjoy.

Raiders Of The Lost Ark 'Sleeps With The Fishes'

Raiders Of The Lost Ark 'Sleeps With The Fishes'
Ed puts this classic action adventure filum to bed with soothing tones and calming factoids on the making of the movie. There are hot takes and some casting alternatives along with asides, lukewarm takes, bad impressions and some surprising and controversial left turns the movie could have made in its casting and production. And whether or not you could call Hitler "a nut" in 2021 or would you have to say he has "mental health issues"?

#57: Review of The Year Featuring Sir Paul McCartney

#57: Review of The Year Featuring Sir Paul McCartney
It's the end of the year and Ed hasn't much to review! One stand up gig and one new movie watched in the cinema since the pandemic started but he's joined by very special guest Sir Paul McCartney who chews the fat and does his impressions of the other Beatles. Ed also talks about new hip show Bridgerton. He also reviews the first Dad book he has received. Will it prepare him for impending fatherhood or is it a load of nonsense? All this plus Ed sings a happy apocalypse song to see out the old year. Enjoy!

    Scrooged 'Sleeps With The Fishes'

    Scrooged 'Sleeps With The Fishes'
It's a Christmas special edition of the podcast designed to help you drift off to sleep while listening to soothing facts and relaxing opinions on some of ed's favourite movie filums. This time its the often overlooked and barely spoken about Christmas holiday classic "Scrooged". How does it compare with other adaptations? What's some interesting facts about the making of it? What confused Ed as a young man about it? All this and more as Ed talks you through the movies production and relaxes you off to sleep. Enjoy and Happy Christmas, put a little love in your heart! x

#56: Sexy Christmas Special Musical Spectacular!

#56: Sexy Christmas Special Musical Spectacular!
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year that's full of health and happiness and no more virus based nonsense! Ed sings lots of songs in this episode because it's the time of year when songs are sung. Some of these are his own short versions of holiday classics and some are songs from his upcoming album which may or may not be a real thing. There's a special cameo appearance from Cara and a very special announcement! All this plus an exclusive inspirational song! Merry to you and enjoy!

#55: Midlands Santa Binge Watches The Year

#55: Midlands Santa Binge Watches The Year
This week the year is coming to a close and Ed talks about his favourite shows he watched and eventually gets around to describing them correctly. He has a brief conversation with a midlands baby and a slightly longer one with the main Christmas man himself, Santa Claus. All this plus Ed defends Tom Cruise's on set rant and sings a made up Bruce Springsteen song.

Die Hard 'Sleeps With The Fishes'

Die Hard 'Sleeps With The Fishes'
Another episode to drift you off to sleep and also just if you like podcasts about movies. This time it's the 'is it a Christmas movie or not' classic, 'Die Hard'. With comforting facts and funny asides about the making of the movie and soothing tones throughout as Ed gives you the cold hard facts, made up facts, misremembered facts and lukewarm takes. Enjoy and sweet dreams. With thanks to Wikipedia and IMDB.

#54: Zoom Santa Has A Minty Heart

#54: Zoom Santa Has A Minty Heart
Merry celebration time everyone! This week Ed tries to get himself cancelled straight away as he has Bob Marley on the brain and it's proving problematic. Ed recounts his recent stint as a Zoom Santa Claus and the highs and lows that come with being seasonal gift man. There's also a silly news section where Ed gets to the truth about the dangers of what his Father Gerry has called "Mint Heart". What is it? Is it a real thing? Or just something that Ed's Dad just made up or thought was a real thing? The answer will shock and surprise you!

The Irishman 'Sleeps With The Fishes'

The Irishman 'Sleeps With The Fishes'
A new offshoot, occasional podcast about movies that also helps you go to sleep! Do you use podcasts to drift off to sleep at night and do you like soothing facts about movies with witty asides delivered in a midlands Irish accent? Well, this is for you! Every episode ad free so no noisy interruptions. The podcast is not sponsored by Wikipedia, I just availed of it for structure, which may evolve with each episode. I made a donation to Wikipedia and would highly recommend you do also. It's a great service that means you don't have to have twenty leather bound books in your living space, it's all at the click of a button. Anyway, hope you enjoy. Sleep tight, Ed.

#53: Don't Do The Undoing Or You Will Wind Up Undone

#53: Don't Do The Undoing Or You Will Wind Up Undone
This week sees Ed almost but not quite get scammed and you have to listen to the end to find out how. There is also a brief discussion on the plausibility of vaccines being demon seed, if the Queen is a lizard or a human being and what bus shelters should be called but mostly the episode is a review of (and a warning to not to watch) the new show "the Undoing" with Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant. Helicopters! Sexy cops! Eyebrows! Enjoy.

#52: Jury Duty Santa Claus On The Late Late Toy Show

#52: Jury Duty Santa Claus On The Late Late Toy Show
This week Ed has a hot take on the Late Late Toy Show and recalls his first and only viewing party. He talks to his robot buddy BB-8 about whether the matrix is real or not and how he copes with being a corporate plaything. Ed also has been summoned for jury duty but he knows how to get out of it and recalls the last time he served. Plus, what new job has Ed landed that involves 19 other men? The answer will surprise you. all this plus a special Christmas song and a guest appearance from a drunk Orson Welles. Enjoy!

Love Notes Season One: Complete And Unabridged

Love Notes Season One: Complete And Unabridged
While making the podcast at the beginning of the pandemic lockdown, Ed was tired of just delivering monologues about his life and thoughts on the topics of the day no matter how cool, funny and interesting they were. He then had the idea of making a silly soap opera for the podcast and all he had was a title, "Love Notes". That alone made him laugh and armed with no plot, he started recording ten minute segments at the end of the episodes. The entire thing is improvised in his brain and comes out of his mouth as it happens and is then edited afterwards with sound effects and music. All of the episodes of the soap within a pod are now compiled here together with an extra special song at the end for your listening pleasure. Enjoy!

#51: Bake Of Dawn To The Koala Harm In The Early Morn

#51: Bake Of Dawn To The Koala Harm In The Early Morn
It's a bumper episode that sees the long awaited return of space set soap opera spectacular 'Space Notes' where new villain Francis Raygun threatens Tony with a class action space lawsuit. Ed also gives his two cents on the shock semi final exit of the Great British Bake Off and his tip for the winner. Also, what's going on with insomnia and bananas and why are Ed's dreams set in the seventies? All this plus why Dublin Zoo should be saved and a cool, kind of environmental rap about Koala bears. Enjoy.
