    Supporting Successful Careers Despite Learning Disabilities

    Natasja-Tez Brent (Peer Advocate & ENCONA Chief Operations Officer) was joined by Yota Baron (FORD Motor Company South Africa Chief Financial Officer) and Sharon Bruwer (Principal & Qualified SENCO at YHC POPS School & University) in this discussion, with Tarryn Jordaan (ENCONA Marketing Manager).

    Creating actionable awareness and educating others regarding learning disabilities, such as dyslexia and ADHD, is a shared passion for the panelists and they enjoyed a free-flowing and candid reflection on their experience, as well as a message of hope that there is a fruitful future for youth that battle with these conditions. The core focus of the discussion assessed the importance of early appropriate education, encouragement, and the instillment of self-belief. In addition, the panel explored how companies can make a difference and provide support when these youths enter the workforce, such as through inclusion programs, thus enabling successful and fulfilling careers, by harnessing the beauty in the differences between all of us.
